Within thisaccumulation, historical residents of 18th and 19th century constituteand important group. The residents show some parallelism with to thosein different places of Anatolia with their architectural characteristics. Theresidents are interesting in terms of decorations which have its ownunderstanding and efforts for analysis The decorations in Diyarbak rare made using various materials such as stone, wood, plaster andmines. These decorations are important because apart from theunderstanding of art in Ottoman Era, these decorations reflect the artistic taste with dominant local patterns that was also shaped by thesocial life of the people.

中国公共卫生 , 1998,
Abstract: ?
Novel Approach to Improve QoS of a Multiple Server Queue  [PDF]

Int'l J. of Communications, Network and System Sciences (IJCNS) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ijcns.2010.31012
Abstract: The existing models of servers work on the M/G/1 model which is in some ways predictable and offers us an opportunity to compare the various other server queuing models. Mathematical analysis on the M/G/1 model is available in detail. This paper presents some mathematical analysis which aims at reducing the mean service time of a multiple server model. The distribution of the Mean Service Time has been derived using Little’s Law and a C++ simulation code has been provided to enable a test run so that the QoS of a multi-server system can be improved by reducing the Mean Service Time.
The Pell Equation X2 - Dy2 = ± k2  [PDF]

Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2011.12005
Abstract: Let D≠1 be a positive non-square integer and k≥2 be any fixed integer. Extending the work of A. Tek-can, here we obtain some formulas for the integer solutions of the Pell equation X2 - Dy2 = ± k2 .
A Prospective, Open-Label, 12 Week Trial of S-adenosylmethionine in the Symptomatic Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease  [PDF]

Neuroscience & Medicine (NM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/nm.2011.23030
Abstract: Objective: To determine if treatment with S-adenosylmethionine (SAM-e) might lead to cognitive and behavioral improvement in patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Interventions: We conducted a prospective, open-label study of six subjects who were given oral SAM-e over 12 weeks and measured the effects on cognition and behavior. Outcome measures: Outcome measures of cognition and behavior included the Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Behave-AD, Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAM-D), informant version, Blessed Dementia Scale to assess activities of daily living (ADL), the Physical Self-Maintainance Scale (PSMS), and the Lawton-Brody IADL Scale to measure instrumental activities of daily living. Results: At study completion, two subjects were “moderately improved” and 4 were “minimally improved” on the CGI. Five subjects improved on the ADAS-Cog by an average of 20%. No significant side effects were reported. Conclusions: In this small open label study, SAM-e appeared to have a beneficial effect in patients with AD, but the small subject number didn’t provide enough power to show statistical significance. Controlled trials with adequate statistical power to investigate its utility in AD are warranted.

Lorentz’s Transformations and Gravitation in the Granular Space Theory  [PDF]
V Konushko
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2011.26053
Abstract: Research into the read structure of space at ways leads to the conclusion on the existence of a privileged (absolute) system of reference, with all the equations remaining invariant about Lorentz’s transformations. The expansion of these transformations makes it possible to obtain easily the Schwarzshild matrix and, also, all the results of Einstein’s theory of gravity. The untangling of the physical meaning of velocity as a measure of relative deformation of elementary space cells eliminates, at last, all the paradoxes of Lorentz’s transformations and allows visual observation of the mechanism of gravity and Coulomb interaction in imaginary experiments.
Biomarkers and Depressive Symptoms in a Sample of Cognitively Intact and Alzheimer’s Disease Elderly Males  [PDF]

Neuroscience & Medicine (NM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/nm.2011.24040
Abstract: Serum-based biomarkers and GDS-30 score and subscales of depressive symptoms were examined in a cross-sectional sample of 81 elderly men drawn from the TARCC cohort. Measurements included neuropsychological assessment and serum. Thirty three patients met consensus diagnosis for probable AD and forty eight were cognitively intact. Although initial regression analysis of all subjects showed significant relationships between depression and specific biomarkers, analyses based on diagnosis indicated that none of the biomarkers were significantly associated with depression among the controls. Among AD males MIF was significantly associated with total GDS scores and subscales of dysphoria, meaninglessness, and cognitive impairment. TNF-α was significantly associated with the apathy in AD males. Higher levels of MIF were associated with less depression in AD men. TNF-α was positively associated with degree of apathy. This study suggests the importance of cognitive status, gender and subtypes of depression when investigating biomarkers and depression in the elderly.

Journal of Cosmetics, Dermatological Sciences and Applications (JCDSA) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jcdsa.2012.23027
Abstract: Dyskeratosis follicularis (Darier’s disease, DD) is rare autosomal dominant disease characterized by hyperkeratotic papules that coalesce into plaques and occur primarily in seborrheic or intertriginous areas. Associated findings include nail abnormalities. A 3-year-old boy presented with porcupine-like appearance for 2 years. The lesion from the back was taken for light microscopy and electron microscopy. He was treated with acitretin (0.31 mg/d to 0.66 mg/d) for 8 years. Light microscopy and electron microscopy showed that the typical features of DD. The patient show good respond to the treatment. During 8 years treatment, the patient had dry mouth and pruritus. The skeletal abnormalities didn’t happen in the patient. The serum lipid profile, liver function and renal function within normal lever after treatment. Our findings showed that porcupine-like appearance is a unique pattern of DD. Acitretin may be a useful therapeutic agent in children with DD and less likely to cause skeletal problems.
Radial Electric Field in Tokamak Plasmas as a Physical Consequence of Ehrenfest’s Paradox  [PDF]
Romannikov Alexander
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2012.330201
Abstract: A simplified form and some possible theoretical resolutions of the so-called Ehrenfest’s Paradox are described. A relation between physical consequences of this relativistic paradox and charge density ρ of tokamak plasma is shown. Plasma experiments which could resolve the Ehrenfest’s Paradox are presented.
