Matta, Frederico de Pina;Viana, José Marcelo Soriano;
Scientia Agricola , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-90162001000400029
Abstract: quality, normally expressed by the relation volume of popcorn/weight of grains (volume expansion), is an important characteristic in popcorn breeding. different systems of assessing popcorn expansion should be used in individual and family selections, since they are common to consumers. the purpose of this work was to evaluate two systems for popping expansion determination in breeding programs. the first was a hot air popcorn pumper and the second was a microwave oven. for the first one an experiment was installed in a completely randomized design, with three treatments and nine levels of kernel weight, and five replications. for the second one, aiming to define an alternative packaging, an experiment was installed also in a completely randomized design, following a factorial scheme, with three replications, involving two times and five packagings. another experiment was achieved to verify the microwave oven quality for volume expansion determination with a little kernel quantity and the best time to be used. the hot air popcorn pumper is an efficient system, in which 10 g of kernel can be used to evaluate plants and up to 90 g of kernel can be used to evaluate families in the experiments. the microwave oven is equivalent to the hot air popcorn pumper. kraft paper bags can be used in the microwave oven. for plant evaluation 10 g of kernel with 140 seconds are recommended. to evaluate progenies 30 g to 90 g of kernel with 220 seconds can be used.

Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2008, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2008.11009

Therefore, it is important for successful electronic business to have high quality websites. A website must however, do more than just look attractive it must be usable and present useful, usable information. Usability essentially means that the website is intuitive and allows visitors to find what they are looking for quickly and without effort. This means careful consid-eration of the structure of information and navigational design. According to the Open Web Applications Security Pro-ject, invalidated input is one of the top ten critical web-application security vulnerabilities. We empirically tested 21 Irish corporate websites. The findings suggested that one of the biggest problems is that many failed to use mechanisms to validate even the basic user data input at the source of collection which could potentially result in a database full of useless information.

Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2015.82018
Abstract: Price plays a significant role in product quality in today communities, and consumers may not be aware of the quality and characteristics of the products they buy, despite of presence of distinctive products. They often are not able to compare different brands in terms of the quality. Although many studies on price-quality relationship support this common belief, some other studies indicate that this relationship depends on the specific type of the product, and overall presence of such relationship is less probable. Current work aims at investigating the relationship between product price and purchaser perception of the quality in durable, less durable and non-durable products in Kish Island’s markets as a case study. Three selected products include: LED TV as a durable product, t-shirts as a semi-durable product, and toothpaste as a non-durable product. Research tool is a questionnaire and collected data are analyzed using SPSS V.19 software. Results of the research indicate that price is one of factors reflecting the quality. It was true about t-shirt more than two other products.

Tess E. Naus, John P. Hirdes
Health (Health) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/health.2013.53A084
Abstract:
A new Subjective Quality of Life (SQoL) Instrument for inpatient and community mental health settings was developed by the interRAI research collaborative to support evaluation of quality in mental health settings from the person’s perspective. Ratings of SQoL provide important information about the quality of service and patient experience with the care they receive. This information can help staff to improve approaches to each person’s plan of care in a manner that is meaningful to the individual. This study examined the reliability of the SQoL-MH. 83 inpatients from several clinical departments in a mental health center in South Western Ontario, Canada were randomly assigned to either be interviewed or complete the assessment on his or her own. Reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha. A preliminary factor analysis points to four SQoL-MH subscales with very good internal consistency, ranging from 0.83 to 0.90. Once finalized, the Subjective Quality of Life instrument will be integral to the interRAI suite of instruments used to assess persons with mental health needs. A reliable and valid SQoL-MH instrument will allow mental health service providers to shape or modify care environments in order to enhance quality of life. In addition, the SQoL-MH instrument could also benefit advocacy groups who use reports on quality of life to influence social policy development and funding decisions.
