Abstract: in order to approach the (im)possibilities of workers to present themselves as the subjects of their work, authors focussed on the role of work in the production of subjectivity, within capitalism, as well as the production of subjectivity in work relations and, especially, the production of nursing workers subjectivity. they emphasized that in the work of nurses and of other nursing professionals, it is possible to organize a creative work such as in the sequence of tasks that must be performed as well as in its process of execution and the initiative to perform them or not.

Abstract: this study aimed at reflecting about nursing as job by disconsidering the widely accepted conception that identifies it as an assistance activity for that conception might hinder actions towards coping with and changing work conditions. the study attempted to place in history the context in which the vocational/religious model was elaborated as well as to identify the manifestations of that conception in the discourse of nursing freshmen and seniors, pointing out the fact that the teaching activity must be permeated by the conception of nursing/work.

Abstract: the nursing profession, given the conditions in which the work of the nurse unfolds: in close contact with people in pain, the long-hour shifts, and the diverse gamut of functions that he/she is in charge of, is not the most favorable to develop work satisfaction. the objective of the study was to determine the level of work satisfaction of the nursing human resources who work at the primary health care. a descriptive study that permitted the analysis of the degree of satisfaction of nurses with their work, was carried out. the universe was comprised of all the nursing human resources who work at the primary health care in the municipality of pinar del río, cuba for a grand total of 780 nurses. for the selection of the sample a probabilistic random stratified sample was used. the strata corresponded with the level or qualification obtained, and the randomized sample choice for each subject. a probabilistic sample of n=160 nurses was taken, which guaranteed an approximate precision of 5%. at the empirical level a survey/questionnaire for measuring work satisfaction was used. for the statistical analysis of the results the spss program version 11.0, the chi square was used so as to establish the association between variables. it could be verified that the nursing personnel is moderately satisfied. the study offers a diagnosis of work satisfaction among nurses at the primary health care.

Abstract: The aims of the paper are to examine the effects of coping on burnout in the context of JD-C-S model. Background A postulate of the job demands–resources model is that two distinct yet related processes contribute to the development of burnout. The energetic process originates from demands and is mainly centered on emotional exhaustion; the motivational process originates from resources and is mainly centered on depersonalization. We postulated that coping and the job type have interaction effects on burnout.

Abstract: the study is a historical research whose aim was to historicize the singularity of the nursing work process in the city of cuiabá/mt. the data were collected from primary and secondary sources. according to the analyzed data, nursing appeared with the attention and care for the sick, and volunteers, blacks and slaves were the ones who performed it. the first created institution was the santa casa de misericórdia of cuiabá. the religious, lay people and slaves performed nursing assistance on the basis of abnegation, friendliness, and godfathering. successive important events such as the implementation of aben/mt, the undergraduate course in nursing, and coren/mt have marked the course of the nursing work, the three of which were linked to the business community in the health sector in the studied context.

Abstract: the study aimed at reviewing the history of the genesis and social formation of nurses work in peru in order to understand it according to women's social situation in the context of a masculine society organized under capitalism. thus, nursing formation was influenced by the nightingale school and the exercise of the peruvian nurses was characterized by the reproduction of social functions that are historically feminine, with a knowledge and practice subordinated to medical knowledge, that is mainly directed by a masculine ideology.

Abstract: this is a brief critical-reflective study aimed at building human beings in teamwork, recognizing their purpose in the process of nursing work. in this context, the team work in nursing is such a crystallized idea that it becomes imperative not to think of it otherwise. however, the predominant form given the variety of team possibilities, lies in the need to form cohesesive team work. the proposal of the theory of professional links, as a relational and managerial tool, is useful and includes the needs of nursing teamwork within the current scenario.

Abstract: this is a research registered in cadastre of the nucleus of research nursing and health of the worker (nupenst) eean/ufrj. the nocturnal service has becoming most of the times harmful for the health of the worker. this study objectified to identify the perception of the academic of nursing related to the nocturnal work and to analyze the perception of the nursing academic about the influence of the nocturnal shift in the health of the nursing worker. the theoretical referential of regis1, pitta2, fischer et al3 was used. quantitative study, where 67 nursing academics of a public university took part. a questionnaire was used. it was concluded that even the minority of the nursing academics has had experience with the nocturnal work, the majority knows some effect negative that can be caused by the nocturnal work, however many times associate only with the physiological aspects. the research brought subsidies that make possible that these questions could be treated in the course of graduation in nursing.

Abstract: the objective of this essay is to articulate theoretical-conceptual aspects of nursing as a profession, a scientific discipline, and labour contributing to reflection concerning nursing knowledge and professional practice exercised in the context of collective work in health care. it reviews concepts from sociological theory and epistemology in order to analyze nursing in the context of scientific community, and the sociology of professions, and the work process theories in health care. this paper argues that nursing has the attributes of a profession as well as a scientific discipline, and that the limits of nursing practice need to be historically and socially contextualized. it concludes that as a social practice and discipline, nursing faces scientific and political challenges which demand a permanent process of construction.

Abstract: in this work we have as our objective to reflect on the theme of the 63rd. annual nursing week "humanization and work: reason and meaning in nursing". we discuss the relationship between humanization/work in nursing, differentiating the aspects related to the humanization of nursing work to those of the humanized work in nursing. the challenges of the process of humanization of assistance and of work relationships imply on the overcoming of the relevance given to the technical scientific competence, routine patterns which are crystallized, conventional models of management, corporativism of the different professional categories in favor of interdependence and the complementarity in health actions; construction of an utopia of the humanization as collective process which can be reached and implemented.
