Avramovi? Zoran,Vuja?i? Milja
Zbornik Instituta za Pedago?ka Istra?ivanja , 2009, DOI: 10.2298/zipi0901116a
Abstract: This paper presents the research the goal of which was to gain an insight into teachers' opinions regarding the mistakes they make during classes and the ways to eliminate those mistakes. The sample comprises 300 primary school teachers and 115 vocational school and grammar school teachers in Serbia. Questionnaire with openended questions was used in the research. The first question required the group of teachers to state the example of one mistake they made during the class, and in the second question they were expected to state how they reacted in order to eliminate the aforementioned mistake. We classified the answers according to the following types of teachers' mistakes: didactic-methodical; expert-cognitive; personal; professional; pedagogical; social-moral. The findings of our research indicate that teachers perceive to a far greater extent the didactic-methodical than social-moral mistakes. It was shown that the greatest number of mistakes arises from the wrong decisions or insufficiently thoughtful decisions of teachers. We also analyzed the ways in which teachers try to eliminate their mistakes.
Typology of Analytical Errors in Sampling Method: An Analysis of the 2003-2007 Education Science Dissertations in Turkey
Engin Karada?
European Researcher , 2013,
Abstract: In this research, the level of quality of the sampling groups used and the analytical mistakes made in the doctorate dissertations carried out in the field of education science in Turkey have been tried to be identified. Case study pattern has been applied in the study in which qualitative research techniques have been used. The theoretical universe of the research consists of the doctorate dissertations done in the field of Education Science. The field of study which consists of 324 doctorate thesis written between the years 2003-2007, has been identified by taking into consideration the improvements in the field of methodology and up to datedness. In the research, the sampling method hasn’t been applied and the whole field of study has been reached. However, due to the restrictions in the usage and publishment of certain dissertations, the number of the dissertations that could be examined in this sampling is 211. In the research, as the tool of data collection, the education research evaluation scale form improved by the researcher has been used. In the research, data collected through epistemological document analysis has been resolved by using frequency analysis, descriptive analysis and typological analysis. According to the findings obtained at the end of the research, the sampling models used in the doctorate dissertations done in the field of education are insufficient by means of quality
Error Analysis in a Written Composition
Londo?o Vásquez,David Alberto;
Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2008,
Abstract: learners make errors in both comprehension and production. some theoreticians have pointed out the difficulty of assigning the cause of failures in comprehension to an inadequate knowledge of a particular syntactic feature of a misunderstood utterance. indeed, an error can be defined as a deviation from the norms of the target language. in this investigation, based on personal and professional experience, a written composition entitled "my life in colombia" will be analyzed based on clinical elicitation (ce) research. ce involves getting the informant to produce data of any sort, for example, by means of a general interview or by asking the learner to write a composition. some errors produced by a foreign language learner in her acquisition process will be analyzed, identifying the possible sources of these errors. finally, four kinds of errors are classified: omission, addition, misinformation, and misordering.
O equívoco no discurso da inclus?o: o funcionamento do conceito de diferen?a no depoimento de agentes educacionais
Cavallari, Juliana Santana;
Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-63982010000300009
Abstract: the purpose of this study is to analyze the way the discourse upon inclusive practices produces some effects of truth within our social and historical environment, by evoking other discursive domains. through a discursive perspective, affected by the psychoanalysis, some regularities enunciated by educational agents, during speeches given at a congress concerning inclusion and diversity, were pointed out. the analysis of the data was based on the following question: to what extent the concepts of difference and inclusion make the talk of educational agents meaningful? the results have stressed the "necessity" felt by the educational agents of applying the inclusive discourse to promote a fair and equal pedagogical practice. taking into account that this kind of practice tends not to treat the differences in a singular way, it's possible to state that repetitive, traditional and permanent identities have been built within the educational context, regardless the new educational purposes.

Teacher’s Error Correction: A Key Factor in Developing Iranian EFL Learners’ Speech Accuracy
Mahshid Hejazi
Theory and Practice in Language Studies , 2012, DOI: 10.4304/tpls.2.3.619-624
Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of the teacher’s error correction on the accuracy of the EFL learners’ speech. In this regard the proposed null hypothesis is: “There is no significant relationship between the teacher’s syntactic error correction and the EFL learners’ speech accuracy”. In order to test the null hypothesis, 95 students who study English as a Foreign language at Azad university, Mashhad branch participated in a TOEFL test, 40 of them were ranked as “intermediate” and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Both groups took part in an interview performed by the researcher as the pre-test. During the treatment procedure, in the experimental group, the syntactic errors of the students were corrected by the teacher as soon as they committed them in their speech. On the other hand the syntactic errors of the students’ speech in the control group were totally ignored by the teacher. After the treatment, which took 16 sessions, the students participated in another interview as the post-test. Both the pre-test and post-test interviews plus all the class discussions during the treatment were tape recorded. The interviews were scored by five raters. In order to compare the means of the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups a t-test was calculated. The observed t was 2.072 and t critical was 2.021.Since the observed t exceeded the t critical, the null hypothesis was rejected. We can conclude that “There is a significant relationship between the teacher’s syntactic error correction and the EFL learners’ speech accuracy”. The results of this study can be useful for language educators in dealing with their students’ syntactic errors in speaking.
