Hiperlordose lombar em crian?as e adolescentes de uma escola privada no Sul do Brasil: ocorrência e fatores associados

Abstract: posture assessment during childhood and adolescence allows early detection of postural disorders and adoption of preventive measures. this study evaluated the occurrence of lumbar hyperlordosis and associated factors in 467 children and adolescents aged 10 to 16 years at a school in porto alegre, rio grande do sul state, brazil. lumbar hyperlordosis was defined as increased lumbar curvature evaluated by photography. prevalence of lumbar hyperlordosis was 78%. factors positively associated with lumbar hyperlordosis were female gender (pr = 1.08; 95%ci: 1.03; 1.13), abdominal strength below the 20th percentile (pr = 1.10; 95%ci: 1.05; 1.15), and flexibility below the 20th percentile (pr = 1.07; 95%ci: 1.01; 1.12). lumbar hyperlordois was negatively associated with lumbar mobility (pr = 0.90; 95%ci: 0.85; 0.96) and height (pr = 0.995; 95%ci: 0.99; 0.999). effective strategies to improve physical fitness in schoolchildren are necessary, because low abdominal strength and low flexibility were associated with lumbar hyperlordosis.

Abstract: the spine problems are high prevalence in the world and cause physical disability. this public health problem affects people when adult. the spine problems are multifactor and one of them is the growing lumbar lordosis, lumbosacral angles, and lordosis depth. the main goal in the present work was to know these variables in the adolescent, because there is little information about the adolescent morphology. we analyze fifty x ray pictures of the adolescent spine, between 13 and 17 years old, 24 male and 26 female of temuco. the total of the case, 76% of them had angles lumbosacral between 30 and 49o, this represent a normally in relation to the other authors. in relation to the lordosis angle, the mean was between 43o and 95o, the mode 50o, mean 62.84, median 62o, and standard deviation was 10.74o. the other variable, the lordosis depth, the mean was 17.08 mm, the maximum and minimum were 9 and 24 mm, the standard deviation was 3.7 and the mode was 15. it is very important to know the parameter of the adolescent column and alterations, to promote prevention program.

Abstract: Las disfunciones de la columna vertebral que producen incapacidad laboral, son de alta prevalencia en el mundo. Este problema de salud pública afecta a la mayoría de las personas principalmente en la edad media de la vida. Los problemas de columna son multifactoriales y uno de ellos es el aumento de la lordosis lumbar, por aumentos del ángulo lumbosacro, ángulo lordótico y profundidad de la lordosis. El propósito del estudio fue conocer como se comportan nuestros adolescentes con respecto a las variables se aladas. Para ello se analizaron 50 radiografías panorámicas de columna vertebral, de escolares entre 13 y 17 a os de ambos sexos, 24 hombres y 26 mujeres, de la ciudad de Temuco, Chile. Del total de los casos observados, el 76% de los sujetos tenían ángulo lumbosacro que variaba entre 30o a 49o, lo que representa una normalidad con respecto a lo encontrado por otros autores. En cuanto al ángulo de la lordosis éste varió desde 43o a 95o, siendo la moda 50o, promedio 62,84o y la mediana de 62o. En cuanto a los valores de dispersión, la desviación estándar fue de 10,74. y el promedio de la profundidad de la lordosis fue de 17,08 mm; los valores máximo y mínimo fueron de 9 y 24 mm, respectivamente, la desviación estándar fue de 3,7 y la moda 15. Es importante conocer los diversos parámetros de la columna de los adolescentes y sus posibles alteraciones, para iniciar programas masivos de prevención The spine problems are high prevalence in the world and cause physical disability. Abstract: the aim of this study was to determine the sagittal spinal morphology of thoracic and lumbar spine in relaxed standing and sitting on the bycicle in master 40 cyclists. a total of 50 master 40 male cyclists (mean age: 44.02 ± 2.51 years) were evaluated. the spinal mouse system was used to measure the sagittal thoracic and lumbar curve in standing and sitting on the bicycle at three different handlebar-hand positions (high, medium, and low). the values for thoracic and lumbar curvatures in standing were 49.42 ± 9.00 and -22.74 ± 9.38, respectively. a high frecuency of thoracic hyperkyphosis in standing was observed (68%). when sitting on the bicycle the thoracic curve showed lower angles in the three handlebar.hand positions that in standing. the lumbar curve adopted a kyphotic posture. the standing thoracic hyperkyphosis in master 40 cyclists may be related to other factors than the posture adopted on the bicycle.
Comparing the Validity of Non-Invasive Methods in Measuring Thoracic Kyphosis and Lumbar Lordosis

Abstract: Background: the purpose of this article is to study the validity of each of the non-invasive methods (flexible ruler, spinal mouse, and processing the image versus the one through-Ray radiation (the basic method) and comparing them with each other.Materials and Methods: for evaluating the validity of each of these non-invasive methods, the thoracic Kyphosis and lumber Lordosis angle of 20 students of Birjand University (age mean and standard deviation: 26±2, weight: 72±2.5 kg, height: 169±5.5 cm) through fours methods of flexible ruler, spinal mouse, and image processing and X-ray.Results: the results indicated that the validity of the methods including flexible ruler, spinal mouse, and image processing in measuring the thoracic Kyphosis and lumber Lordosis angle respectively have an adherence of 0.81, 0.87, 0.73, 0.76, 0.83, 0.89 (p>0.05). As a result, regarding the gained validity against the golden method of X-ray, it could be stated that the three mentioned non-invasive methods have adequate validity. In addition, the one-way analysis of variance test indicated that there existed a meaningful relationship between the three methods of measuring the thoracic Kyphosis and lumber Lordosis, and with respect to the Tukey’s test result, the image processing method is the most precise one.Conclusion as a result, this method could be used along with other non-invasive methods as a valid measuring method.
Análisis de la Morfología del Raquis Torácico y Lumbar en Mujeres Trabajadoras de una Cooperativa Hortofrutícola

Abstract: the aim of this study was to analyze the sagittal spinal morphology of thoracic and lumbar spine in standing and sitting in women workers from a cooperative in the production, handling and marketing business of vegetable and fruit products. a total of 50 women (mean age: 43.62±8.43 years old) were evaluated. the spinal mouse system was used to mesasure the sagittal thoracic and lumbar curvatures in standing and relaxed sitting. the values for thoracic and lumbar curvatures were 32.74±8.76 and -21.66±19.12 in standing and 36.32±10.55 and -1.08±18.14 in sitting. a high frequency (86.0% and 68.3%) of normal thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis were found in standing posture. while sitting the 74.0% and 20.0% presented thoracic hyperkyphosis and lumbar kyphosis. in conclusion, a high percentaje of women workers presented normality values in standing posture, although a high percentage of women were found with thoracic hyperkyphosis and lumbar flexed while sitting relaxed. it is recommended that these women carry out a program to improve their actitudinal postures in their work place.
Evolución de la Morfología del Raquis e Inclinación Pélvica en Ciclistas de Diferentes Edades: Un Estudio Transversal

Abstract: the aim of this study was to evaluate the sagittal spinal morphology and pelvic tilt in standing in three different age-group cyclists who had the same cycling experience and training volume. a total of 65 cyclists were divided in three age-groups: group 1: ( 30 years old; n = 20); group 2 (between 31 y 40 years old; n = 25); and group 3 ( 41 years old; n = 20). the spinal mouse was used to measure sagittal thoracic and lumbar spine and pelvic tilt in standing on the floor. the mean values for thoracic and lumbar spine and pelvic tilt were: group 1, 46.60 ± 10.09; - 26.40 ± 7.17; 13.20 ± 4.94; group 2, 47.64 ± 8.58; -26.92 ± 6.34; 12.24 ± 4.45; and group 3, 50.75 ± 12.77; -20.70 ± 10.10 y 8.15 ± 8.21, respectively. significant differences were found for the lumbar spine and pelvic tilt in the groups 1 and 2 with respect to group 3. in conclusion, aging is a conditional factor to the sagittal spinal morphology and pelvic tilt in cyclists who present the same years of experience and training volume in cycling.

Abstract: the angular value of lumbar lordosis and the role of vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs in its constitution were studied in normal individuals. x-ray images of lumbar spine were studied in 350 normal and asymptomatic individuals, ages ranging from 18 to 50 years old (average 29.0 years old ± 8.24), being 143 males and 207 females. the lumbosacral (l1s1) and the lumbolumbar (l1l5) curves were measured. measurements for lumbar curves and their components presented a large variation. average values of -61o were seen for lumbosacral curve and of -45o for lumbolumbar curve. vertebral bodies measurements presented kyphotic values for l1, neutral for l2, and progressively lordotic for l3 - l5. intervertebral discs presented a progressive lordotic angulation from l1-l2. caudal elements of curvature, intervertebral discs l4-l5 and l5-s1 and the vertebral body l5 accounted for nearly 60% of the angular measurement of lumbosacral curvature. a significant difference was seen between males and females for lumbar curvature measurements, and for vertebral bodies l2 and l4, with females presenting higher values. age-related differences were found in lumbar curvature and vertebral bodies measurements.
Correlation between lumbar lordosis angle and degree of gynoid lipodystrophy (cellulite) in asymptomatic women

Abstract: introduction: gynoid lipodystrophy (cellulite) has been cited as a common dermatological alteration. it occurs mainly in adult women and tends to gather around the thighs and buttocks. its presence and severity have been related to many factors, including biotype, age, sex, circulatory changes, and, as some authors have suggested, mechanical alterations such as lumbar hyperlordosis. objective: to correlate the degree of cellulite with the angle of lumbar lordosis in asymptomatic women. methods: fifty volunteers were evaluated by digital photos, palpation, and thermograph. the degree of cellulite was classified on a scale of 1-4. analyses were performed on the superior, inferior, right and left buttocks (srb, irb, slb, ilb), and the superior right and left thighs (srt, slt). the volunteers underwent a lateral-view x-ray, and the angle of lumbar lordosis was measured using cobb's method (inferior endplate of t12 and the superior endplate of s). the data were statistically analyzed using anova and spearman's correlation. a significance level of 5% was adopted. results: volunteers had a mean age of 26.1 ± 4.4 years and a mean body mass index of 20.7 ± 1.9 kg/m2. there was no significant difference in lumbar lordosis angle between those with cellulite classes 2 and 3 (p > 0.297). there was also no correlation between lumbar lordosis angle and the degree of cellulite (p > 0.085 and r > 0.246). conclusions: the analysis suggests that there is no correlation between the degree of cellulite and the angle of lumbar lordosis as measured using cobb's method.

Abstract: objective: this study was to evaluate the angle of cervical lordosis in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (ais) ranked in lenke i pre- and postoperatively. methods: prospective and descriptive study, which evaluated patients with ais and documented anthropometric measures. we assessed the angulations of the radiographs (orthostatic position) in cervical profile of c3 to c7 in the pre- and post-operative setting as the normal cervical lordosis between 10 and 30 degrees. results: a total of 26 patients with ais, the majority being female (73%) with mean age of 14.3 years. we noted that in the pre-operative 42.3% of patients had reduced cervical lordosis (<10°) and 38.6%, reversal of this angle (<0°). postoperatively, all patients had improvement in cervical angle in relation to physiological levels, with 69,3% of patients achieving the desired normal angle and no cervical spine of patients maintained reversal of cervical lordosis. conclusions: surgical correction of scoliosis has led to the secondary improvement of angulation of the cervical lordosis,
