Comparison of Two Electronic Root Canal Length Measurement Devices: The Differences between Ratio Two Impedance Frequencies and Multi Frequencies  [PDF]

Abstract: Accuracy electronic root canal length measurement devices were important for root canal treatment. Aim: To evaluate and compare accuracy of the two electronic root canal length measurement devices; two frequencies impedance ratio and multi frequencies. Methods: Forty anterior teeth were sectioned on their cervical area. All samples were measured root canal length by radiographic. On the second phase, all the samples were measured by two frequencies impedance ratio and multi frequencies electronic devices. In the final phase, the teeth were split vertically and actual lengths were measured. All measurement by radiographic and electronic method was subtracted with actual length. Statistical analysis was performed using Chi-square and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results: Accuracy of the two frequencies impedance ratio 50% and multi frequencies 47.5%. No statistical significance between two frequencies impedance ratio and multi frequencies. Conclusions: There is no difference between ratio two impedance frequencies and multi frequencies.

Abstract:
Drug addiction is a problem in all areas of the United States. In every town and city you can probably find a certain population with this issue. Drug abuse and heroin overdoses have hit our small New England community hard in the past five years. Working in the Emergency Department I see many people with drug addiction. This issue affects the addicts as well as their family and friends in numerous ways. Addicts and their families face poor health, lost income, poverty, lack of healthcare, and most of all the pain of losing a loved one to drug addiction or death.

Abstract:

The principal factor to determine the economical value of the products manufactured in the electronics industry is due to the productive yielding. This is important for the cost of the articles fabricated in this type of industrial plants installed in Mexicali city, where around 80% of companies are, and which fabricate electronic devices and systems, or have industrial electronic systems and machines to their manufacturing process. Mexicalicity is located in theBaja CaliforniaStateof the northwest ofMexico, which is a border city with Calexico in theCaliforniaStateof the United States of America (USA). The region located in Mexicali, is a desert area. Geothermal plant is located in this area, which is an important industry and supplies electricity to this city and its valleys and some cities on southwest of United States for daily activities. This company emits hydrogen sulfide (H2S) as a main air pollutant that reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere, generating sulfur oxides (SOX). This chemical is dispersed to the city of Mexicali in which industrial plants are located with electronic control systems, and penetrates to indoor rooms. Those cause the corrosion process. The presence of corrosion leads to the deterioration of electrical connectors, the connections of electronic systems and the decreasing of the lifetime of these control systems. Other air pollutants that are considered as chemical agents which cause damage to materials used in the electronics industry, are the sulfurs and nitrogen oxides (NOX), emitted from the traffic vehicle and some industries. Abstract:

The goal of this research was to observe which features, according to the users’ point of view, might influence the use of pillboxes. Older adults were surveyed in order to test different pillboxes and report their observations about their difficulties. Both the individuals and the pillboxes themselves have characteristics that might influence successful use, such as difficulty remembering medication names and lack of hand strength and the complexity of the pillboxes’ alarm system and opening mechanism. Pillboxes can be effective in helping older adults take their medication provided they are designed according to both dosage prescription and the user’s functional capacity.

Abstract:

Many methods exist for cardiac and neural signal feature extraction and identification, but a published method for validation of therapeutic medical devices by computer analysis of their signals can be seldom found. This paper presents a simple, fast algorithm to extract the electrical stimulation including pulse width, exponential decay, and time between pulses from neurostimulators, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulators (TENS). An experimental validation demonstrated the automated analysis provide means to expedite device validation testing. In the future studies, the algorithm should be improved for its robustness and checked for analysis of signals with lower SNR. A figure of merit is provided to expedite electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests on the devices to ensure proper operation in the presence of electromagnetic emitters.

Abstract: Introduction: The EasyTube is a disposable, polyvinyl-chloride, double-lumen, supraglottic airway device, which allows ventilation in either esophageal or tracheal position. The EasyTube may be positioned into the esophagus blindly or using a laryngoscope. Methods: Our study compared blind versus laryngoscopic-guided esophageal EasyTube insertion. Thirty two anesthesiologists inserted an EasyTube, size 41 Fr, into a mannequin, by using a blind and a laryngoscopic technique in a 2 × 2 crossover design. Results: No statistically significant difference in the time to achieve an effective airway was found: 23.9 ± 6 seconds for the blind and 29.5 ± 7.6 seconds for the laryngoscopic-guided technique. Conclusion: EasyTube insertion was equally successful with or without a laryn-goscope in a mannequin when used by anesthesia providers.

Abstract: Road Traffic monitoring involves the collection of data describing the characteristic of vehicles and their movement through road networks. Such data may be used for one of these purposes such as law enforcement, congestion and incident detection and increasing road capacity. Transportation is a requirement for every nation regardless of its economy, political stability, population size and technological development. Movement of goods and people from one place to another is crucial to maintain strong economic and political ties between the various components of any given nation among nations. However, there are different modes of transportation and the most paramount one to human beings is road transportation. Due to increase in the modes of transportation, road users encounter different problems such as road blockage and incidents. Therefore there is need to monitor users incidents and to know the causes. Road traffic monitoring can be done manually or using ICT devices. This paper focuses on how the use of ICT devices can enhance road traffic monitoring. It traces the brief history of transportation; it equally discussed road traffic and safety, tools for monitoring road traffic, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) use for traffic monitoring and their benefits. The result shows that the use of ICT devices in road traffic monitoring should be a Millennium Goal for all developed and developing countries because of its numerous advantages in the reduction of the intensity of traffic and other road incidents.

Abstract: We hereby propose a software solution to perform high quality electrical measurements for the characterization of WORM (write-once read many), a new generation memory device which is being intensively studied for non-volatile data storage. The as-proposed software is completely based on .NET framework and sample C# code. The paper performed a relevant measurement based on this software. Working WORM devices, based on a polymeric matrix embedded with gold and copper sulfide nanoparticles, have been used for test measurements. The aim of this paper is to show the main steps to develop a fully working measurement software without using any expensive dedicated software.
