Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2013.411182

The distribution of relative angles between the intermediate mass fragments has been measured and analyzed for thermal multifragmentation in p + Au collisions at 2.1, 3.6 and 8.1 GeV. The analysis has been done on an event by event basis. The multibody Coulomb trajectory calculations of all charged particles have been performed starting with the initial break-up conditions given by the combined model with the revised intranuclear cascade (INC) followed by the statistical multifragmentation model. The measured correlation function was compared with the calculated one to find the actual time scale of the intermediate mass fragment (IMF) emission. It found transition from sequential evaporation for p(2.1 GeV) + Au to simultaneous multibody decay of a hot and expanded nuclear system in case of p(8.1 GeV) + Au.

What Does Monogamy in Higher Powers of a Correlation Measure Mean?  [PDF]

We examine here the proposition that all multiparty quantum states can be made monogamous by considering positive integral powers of any quantum correlation measure. With Rajagopal-Rendell quantum deficit as the measure of quantum correlations for symmetric 3-qubit pure states, we illustrate that monogamy inequality is satisfied for higher powers of quantum deficit. We discuss the drawbacks of this inequality in quantification of correlations in the state. We also prove a monogamy inequality in higher powers of classical mutual information and bring out the fact that such inequality needs not necessarily imply restricted shareability of correlations. We thus disprove the utility of higher powers of any correlation measure in establishing monogamous nature in multiparty quantum states.

Fluctuations and fermi-dirac correlations in e+e--annihilation
Gustafson, G?sta;
Brazilian Journal of Physics , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-97332007000500003
Abstract: in this talk i first present a short review of fluctuations in e+e--annihilations. i then describe some new results on fd correlations. experimental analyses of pp and l l correlations indicate a very small production radius. this result relies very strongly on comparisons with mc simulations. a study of the approximations and uncertainties in these simulations implies that it is premature to draw such a conclusion from the data.

Abstract: phenotypic and genetic path analyses were carried out in order to quantify direct and indirect effects of production components on the variable ton of stalks per hectare (tsh) and mean stalk weight (msw). seventeen hybrid families were evaluated on a randomized complete block design with four replicates, at the centro de pesquisa e melhoramento da cana-de-a?úcar - ceca of the universidade federal de vi?osa, minas gerais state. planting was carried out in january 2000. the following variables were defined as production components: stalk height (sh), stalk diameter (sd) and stalk number (sn). the results indicated that the variables msw and sn can be used for indirect selection of high yielding families, since they showed positive and high direct effects on tsh. despite sh and sd showed high correlation with msw, only sd showed high direct genetic effect on msw, demonstrating the importance of this variable for indirect selection of families with higher mean stalk weight.

International Journal of Geosciences (IJG) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ijg.2013.42036

We here report our observations of the intense lightning events during ~15:00, 23 September to ~12:00, 24 September 2008 along the fault of Wenchuan-Beichuan counties in Sichuan Province, China where a 8.0 magnitude earthquake strike on May 12th, 2008. This intense lightning period had the highest density in all available the lightning monitoring data of Sichuan. The altered lightning pattern is unlikely to be a coincidence. We also found that the spatial-temporal characteristic of lightning in Sichuan has changed after the earthquake. We studied the correlations and analyze the data between lightning and earthquake in order to understand the seemingly unrelated events.

Patterns of Interpersonal Coordination in Rugby Union: Analysis of Collective Behaviours in a Match Situation  [PDF]
Marta Rodrigues, Pedro Passos
Advances in Physical Education (APE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ape.2013.34034
Abstract: This study aims to analyze how intra-team coordination patterns in the team sport of rugby union influenced successful performance. We hypothesized that high interpersonal coordination patterns are a crucial issue to cross (or not) the gain line. Video record and digitizing procedures were used as a method to collect data for further analysis of interpersonal coordination patterns that took place during the formation of subunits of attack. The results showed the existence of three types of outputs, which differ depending on the correlations between attackers and defenders. Therefore, for high and positive values of interpersonal coordination (r values between 0.8 < r < 1), there are possibilities of action that lead to success when the opponents have inverse or lower values of correlation. The conclusion was that interpersonal coordination within subunits becomes a relevant factor in analyzing the success in each game situation.

Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2014.514136

An attempt is made to study various types of multiplicity distributions and multiplicity correlations amongst secondary charged particles produced in 4.5 and 14.5 A GeV/c 28Si-nucleus interactions. The results reveal that multiplicity correlations of the type \"\", where i, j = b, g, s and h with i ≠ j, are linear. The observed multiplicity correlations are nicely fitted by the method of least squares fitting of the type, \"\"

Abstract: The objective of this paper was to estimate phenotypic and genetic correlations in order to improve existing wheat quality breeding methodology in early generations. For this purpose, one-year trial with population of 143 recombinant inbred lines from crossing combination Bezostaja/Klara was carried out on Osijek and Slavonski Brod locations in 2008/09 year. Among analyzed traits (grain protein content, wet gluten content, gluten index, mid-line peak time -MPT, mid-line peak height -MPH and mid-line tail width -MTW) consistent positive phenotypic and genetic pattern of correlations was found between grain protein content and wet gluten content, negative between gluten index with grain protein content and wet gluten content, and positive between grain protein content and wet gluten content with MPT and MPH. Conformity of the phenotypic and genetic correlations was confirmed by Mantel test on both locations (for Osijek r=0.81** and for Slavonski Brod r=0.88**).

Echevarria, Aurea;Nascimento, Maria da Gra?a;Ger?nimo, Vanilde;Miller, Joseph;Giesbrecht, Astréa;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50531999000100010
Abstract: a series of eleven schiff bases have been synthesized. they were obtained by condensation of piperonal (3,4-methylenedioxybenzaldehyde) with the corresponding aromatic primary amines. their 1h and 13c-nmr spectra have been obtained and the hammett correlations including chemical shifts and the subsitutent constants (sp, sr e si) were studied. linear and bilinear significant correlations were observed for iminic carbon (c-a) and c-1?, showing a more significant ressonance effect on chemical shifts. the chemical shifts for c-4? were highly affected by substituent effects, especially for halogens in the expected direction. their biological activity against microorganisms has also been measured and significant activity was showed against epidermophyton floccosum. the biological activity did not give a reasonable relationship with electronic effects.
