De qué hablamos cuando hablamos de literatura del exilio republicano de 1939?
Caudet, Francisco
Arbor : Ciencia, Pensamiento y Cultura , 2009, DOI: 10.3989/arbor.2009.739n1068
Abstract: What are we referring to when we talk about the republican literary exile in 1939? It is possible to segregate this literature from that revolution and from the people that fought for this to become a reality and that suffered so much, the hardship, the death and the exile? The exile is a sub-culture that can be difficultly integrated in the culture of the acceptance country. During Franco’s dictatorship it is necessary to consider three different literatures: the literature which was close to the political regime, the one that showed some “cracks” in the regime –we are referring to existentialism and alarmism in the 1940’s decade, a kind of literature which started it own breaking-off the regime by the 1950’s decade– and finally the literature in the exile. It is necessary to ask if it is correct to write the history of the Spanish literature in the post-war period from an exclusive point of view and to take into consideration a questionable territoriality. As soon as possible it is essential accepting and admitting that the history of the Spanish literature if badly written and badly told.

Silva, Helenice Rodrigues da;
Revista Brasileira de História , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-01882002000200008
Abstract: this article deals with national celebrations and their symbolic values, emphasizing the dimension of the future. looking for national consensus, political authorities invest in the remembrance of important dates to find in the past a historical legitimity which allows the consolidation of collective memory. thus, behind national commemorations, we do come across the question of time and its relationship to the past of history and the present of memory. basing on paul ricoeur's analyses, this text tries, on one hand, to tackle the mechanisms of appropriation of historical times, and on the other, the construction and transmission processes of a social memory.
Educa??o, memória e patrim?nio: a??es educativas em museu e o ensino de história
Pacheco, Ricardo de Aguiar;
Revista Brasileira de História , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-01882010000200008
Abstract: in this article we show how categories from historiographic production and the field of education provided theoretical and methodological support for a research and further education project that guided the actions carried out at the ufrpe memorial, a museum belonging to the rural federal university of pernambuco. based on these references we produce a museographic discourse and a set of educational actions about the past - which are subject to different interpretations by the public - with which it is intended to allow space for the construction of new meanings of the past to the community being portrayed.
Nation of Ghosts?: Haunting, Historical Memory and Forgetting in Post-Franco Spain
Colmeiro, José
452o F : Revista de Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada , 2011,
Abstract: This essay examines some of the critical and theoretical approaches in the area of historical memory and identity studies that have emerged as a response to the contemporary cultural challenges that have resulted from the social and political transformations which havetaken place globally in the last decades. The essay narrows its focus to a case study of the role of historical memory in the formation of collective identities in contemporary Spain, in the aftermath of the dictatorship and the subsequent political transition. This study explores in particular the use of the trope of haunting ghosts in contemporary Spanish literature and cinema as symtomatic form of spectrality of the repressed collective past.

DEL USO PEDAGOGICO DE LUGARES DE MEMORIA: VISITA DE ESTUDIANTES DE EDUCACION MEDIA AL PARQUE POR LA PAZ VILLA GRIMALDI (SANTIAGO, CHILE)
Veneros Ruiz-Tagle,Diana; Toledo Jofré,María Isabel;
Estudios pedagógicos (Valdivia) , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-07052009000100012
Abstract: during augusto pinochet's dictatorship the parque por la paz ex-villa grimaldi was the setting of abhorrent violations to human rights; it is today an emblematic site of memory in chile. pursuing the goal of a "pedagogy of memory" an ethnographically oriented research stirred the historical memory of high school students. by means of some guided visits of students to the parque por la paz, of a previous and subsequent action in the classroom, and of a somewhat spontaneous work of memory inside the students' families -collected in interviews to some of the students involved in the experience- the results achieved by the research proved the importance of the sites of commemoration in the teaching of national history and in the ethical formation in human rights. they also accounted for the existence of a fragmented historical memory in chile and for the persistence of frames of memory associated to conflicting interpretations on the traumatic recent chilean past.

Jaramillo Marín,Jefferson;
Sociedad y Economía , 2010,
Abstract: the article examines different experiences of recovery and institutional handling of the wounds of the colombian war. its objective is to identify how in various joints of the national history, it creates "study commissions of violence" allowing the one hand, the historical reconstruction of the causes, course and consequences of armed conflict, and secondly, bleeding production and narrative memories against forgetting. throughout the text, we highlight several of these experiences, which take place between 1958 and 2006 in the midst of a "war without transition". then, we identify the core domains that are involved in the recovery of historical memory in the process of justice and peace, in particular the work of the area historical memory
Guerrilheiros ou sacerdotes? Professores de História, consciência histórica e constru??o de identidades
Pacievitch, Caroline;Cerri, Luis Fernando;
Pro-Posi??es , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-73072010000200011
Abstract: what are the effects of a teacher's specific preparation for professionally working with history on his/her historical consciousness? this paper presents the results of research developed at the pos-graduation program in education, between 2005 and 2007. the constitution of history teachers' identities was investigated from the axle of historical consciousness building. the basis for investigation was the relationship with historical knowledge, with political stands and with religiousness. the theoretical foundations were drawn from the works of rüsen and heller. the methodology involved the collection of oral or written depositions aiming at the production of specific narratives destined to survey historical consciousness characteristics, as well as open and multiple-choice questionnaires. the results indicate that, among other data, education in history leads to historical meaning production patterns concentrated on the genetic and critical modes, but also that a subject's life story is the main individual variation factor for those patterns.
Usos políticos de la memoria: devoción, desdén y asedio de las estatuas
Suazo,Félix;
Revista Venezolana de Economía y Ciencias Sociales , 2005,
Abstract: for some authors, the recovering of the past is a way of channeling the multiple malaises plaguing contemporary society. nevertheless, these expectations are not always realized, especially in those nations where a drastic revision of traditional values is under way. the venezuelan case is particularly complicated as a result of the rapid changes in recent years in the political and social panorama and their impact on the modes of collective representation. in venezuela, the idea of the monument linked to three movements of collective sensibility in relation to memory: devotion, distain and siege. these notions could be understood as the metaphorical correlative of behavioral models more or less established in the local imaginary. finally, memory is selectively constructed and is subjected to the imperatives and purposes of a present looking for its legitimacy in an idealized past. obviously, there is a tacit link between memory and power, which becomes more explicit in the multiple and unceasing symbolic battles over the culture of monuments.
