The Effect of Near-Wall Vortices on Wall Shear Stress in Turbulent Boundary Layers  [PDF]

Abstract: The objective of the present study is to explore the relation between the near-wall vortices and the shear stress on the wall in two-dimensional channel flows. A direct numerical simulation of an incompressible two-dimensional turbulent channel flow is performed with spectral method and the results are used to examine the relation between wall shear stress and near-wall vortices. The two-point correlation results indicate that the wall shear stress is associated with the vortices near the wall and the maximum correlation-value location of the near-wall vortices is obtained. The analysis of the instantaneous diagrams of fluctuation velocity vectors provides a further expression for the above conclusions. The results of this research provide a useful supplement for the control of turbulent boundary layers.
Application of Activity and Wavelet Analysis on Well Logging Sedimentary Cycle Division  [PDF]

The method of sedimentary cycle division is studied based on comprehensive research and activity analysis of well logging, combined with wavelet analysis and characteristics of stratigraphic cycle. Based on the method above, this paper divided stratigraphic cycles and finely classified the tratifigraphic by taking H1518 in HSS oilfield as an example. The result shows that sedimentary cycle can be divided effectively based on key stratum study, activity and wavelet analysis of well log, and the research of sedimentary cycle characteristics. H1 formation can be divided into 1 sand group, 3 sand layers and 7 single layers.

Long Term Effect of Major Disturbances on the Northern Mixed Grassland Ecosystem—A Review  [PDF]

Grassland ecosystems in North America have been significantly altered through various disturbances from past to present. This paper has identified and examined major disturbances in the grassland ecosystems, which include grazing, fire and drought. A brief history of each disturbance is reviewed and its impact on the grassland ecosystem is discussed, by synthesizing previous research efforts available in the current literature. The paper intends to understand the grassland ecosystem from a comprehensive perspective and particularly tries to articulate the compound effect of the major disturbances in the same context instead of viewing them in isolations. It is concluded that a holistic understanding of the interaction between disturbances and plant communities is essential for sustainable grassland management, which demands comprehensive research effort in this area. The paper also points out the challenges we are facing in the current researches and suggests potential future improvement.

A Safety Relay Selection Method Based on Network Coding  [PDF]

A method of cooperative relay selection based on network coding security is proposed for relay selection problem of cooperative communication system security in networked multi-relay scenarios, which is different from the existing relay node selection method. The algorithm not only merged with timestamp and homomorphic signature to construct the node degree of safety to find reliable relay, at the same time to considers the received signal to noise ratio at all relay nodes value and the channel gain to the source node. The simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the achievable rate of the destination node and reduce the outage probability on the basis of guaranteeing the safety of the relay node.

Abstract: Hydrogen production through dimethyl ether steam reforming is an attractive option for mobile applications of hydrogen fuel cells. Hydrogen is a major trend in the future of energy development. It is not only pollution-free, but also has a high energy density. Therefore, research on hydrogen fuel cells is particularly important. In this paper, a numerical research on dimethyl ether steam reforming reaction in a reactor has been presented using a computational fluid dynamics. A three-dimensional reactor model developed by the commercial software COMSOL (version 5.2a) was used to simulate the reaction characteristics by modifying reforming conditions. The simulation results indicate the temperature distribution, mass distribution, and reveal the dependency of dimethyl ether reforming reaction rate on temperature, pressure, the length of the reactor. The yield of H2 and conversion of dimethyl ether with different mass ratios and inlet temperature (200°C, 300°C, 400°C, 500°C) were examined. The governing equations in the model include conservations of mass, momentum, energy and chemical species.

Abstract: The principle of digital watermark is the method of adding digital watermark in the frequency domain. The digital watermark hides the watermark in digital media, such as image, voice, video, etc., so as to realize the functions of copyright protection, and identity recognition. DCT for Discrete Cosine Transform is used to transform the image pixel value and the frequency domain coefficient matrix to realize the embedding and extracting of the blind watermark in the paper. After success, the image is attacked by white noise and Gaussian low-pass filtering. The result shows that the watermark signal embedded based on the DCT algorithm is relatively robust, and can effectively resist some attack methods that use signal distortion to destroy the watermark, and has good robustness and imperceptibility.
