The Models of Investing Schools  [PDF]
June Liu, Lei Chai, Zina Xu
Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics (JAMP) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jamp.2016.46113
Abstract: In this paper, we build the Linear Programming (LP) model, factor analysis model and return on investment model to measure the investment amount and which year to invest of each selected schools. We firstly analyze the indicators from attached files, and select effective indexes to choose schools donated. Then we select 17 indexes out after preprocessing all the indices. Secondly, we extract 1064 schools by MATLAB which is the Potential Candidate Schools from the table of attached files; we extract 10 common factors of these schools by factor analysis. After calculation, we rank the universities and select the top 100. We calculate the Return on Investment (ROI) based on these 17 indexes. Thirdly, we figure out the investment amount by conducting LP model through MATLAB. According to the property of schools, we calculate the annual limit investment and the mount of investment of each school. Fourthly, we determine which year to invest by ROI model which is operated by LINGO. In order to achieve optimal investment strategy and not duplication of investment, for five years, starting July 2016, we assume that the time duration that the organization’s money should be provided is one year, and the school return to the Good grant Foundation only one year. Then we can get the investment amount per school, the return on that investment, and which years to invest. Fifthly, by changing parameter, the sensitivity analysis is conducted for our models. The result indicates that our models are feasible and robust. Finally, we evaluate our models, and point out the strengths and weakness. Through previous analysis, we can find that our models can be applied to many fields, which have a relatively high generalization.
Forecast of China Population under Different Fertility Policy  [PDF]
Jun’e Liu, Lei Chai, Zina Xu
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.47031
Abstract: In this paper, we use queue elements prediction and forecasting software PADIS-INT, set three different fertility programs, and predict China’s total population and the trends of population structural change in 2015-2050, based on the fifth and sixth national census data. The results show that since implementation of the two-child family planning policy, the aging trend of the population structure will be significantly improved, and after 2030 our population structure will be gradually younger. In view of the problem of population sex ratio imbalance, we verified it, and the results showed that by 2020 there will be a bachelor phenomenon, but the number did not report as much. Finally, we gave a brief summary and recommendations for our studies.

Abstract: The whole world is struggling with the recession. As a significant role in the global economy, China is facing big challenges to keep the stable growth in economy. The Chinese garment foreign trade small & medium size enterprises (SMEs) are continuing to be severely hit these years. The increasing exchange rate of the Renminbi, raising price of raw material, and the rapid growth of cost of labor and capital bring Chinese garment trade SMEs the crisis for survival. This paper is mainly studying on the existing difficulties, the possible strategies and measures which the Chinese garment foreign trade SMEs could adopt to survive during the world economy crisis. The abroad direct distribution alliance strategy and its benefits are introduced. Some suggestions for applying the abroad direct distribution alliance model are provided. This paper identified a feasible and effective solution for Chinese garment foreign trade SMEs compete in the global market and most importantly survive in this world recession.
Nutritional and technological quality of the durum wheat
Zina Flagella
Italian Journal of Agronomy , 2011, DOI: 10.4081/ija.2006.s1.203
Abstract: Durum wheat quality is a complex system that combines yield characteristics, cultivation conditions and certification requirements. In this review, the technological and nutritional aspects of grain quality were evaluated in relation to the influence of climate and agronomic practices. In particular, the technological quality was investigated with regard to the kind of processed product (pasta, bread, couscous, burghul). The influence of nitrogen and sulphur nutrition, temperature, water regime and organic farming on grain quality was evaluated. Furthermore, the nutritional characteristics of durum wheat related to starch, proteins, lipids, vitamins, fibres and mineral ions content were examined. Special focus was on the antioxidant activity capable of preventing chronic and degenerative diseases thanks to the high content in bioactive compounds, as phenols, tocols, carotenoids and fibres in whole grain. In the light of the new direction of the Community agricultural policy and of the growing interest in human nutrition, two prospects for development of the durum wheat sector were delineated: i) developing certified products (PGI, PDO and organic); ii) promoting production and processing technologies aimed at increasing the level of bioactive compounds in durum wheat grain and its by-products.

A Petri Net Based Multi-Agent System Behavioral Testing
Belkacem Athamena,Zina Houhamdi
Modern Applied Science , 2012, DOI: 10.5539/mas.v6n3p46
Abstract: In Multi-Agent System (MAS), developers concentrate on creating design models and evolving them, from higher level models to lower level models, in several steps. Considerable part of MAS implementations is automatically produced from the design models. If a design model contains faults, they are passed to the generated implementations. Practical model validation techniques are required to discover and delete faults in abstract design models. In this paper, we introduce a formal approach for MAS design testing. It specifies a testing process that complements Multi-agent Systems Engineering (MaSE) methodology and strengthens the mutual relationship between UML and MAS. Besides, it defines a structured and comprehensive testing process for engineering software agents at the design level by providing a systematic way of converting the MAS design models to UML design diagram. Then a Petri Net (PN) diagram is generated from the UML models to simulate the behavior of the MAS system. Finally, because Petri Nets (PNs) are formal models, their analysis techniques can be applied to automatic MAS behavioral testing.
Migration, Transnationalism and Multiculturalism. The bond of Uruguayan young immigrants in Barcelona with their country of origin
Felipe Arocena,Mariana Zina
Athenea Digital , 2011,
This paper will answer two questions: how young Uruguayan immigrants in Barcelona have integrated to their new country of destiny?, and how they relate to their country of origin living overseas? The general conclusions, influenced by the theories of transnationalism and multiculturalism, suggest that a significant number of Uruguayan immigrants in Barcelona develop integration strategies in their new country as they recreate in a parallel way their Uruguayan identity and their sense of belonging to the old homeland. In this process they conform a new hyphenated identity, which enables them to build solid bridges between the Uruguayan nation living inside and outside borders.
