Pathological and immunohistochemical study of lethal primary brain stem injuries

Abstract: A total of 65 patients who had died of PBSI and other conditions were randomly selected. They were divided into 2 groups, an injury group (25 cases) and a control group (20 cases). Slides of each patient’s midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata were prepared and stained with HE, argentaffin, and immunohistochemical agents (GFAP, NF, amyloid-?, MBP). Under low power (×100) and NF staining, the diameter of the thickest longitudinal axon was measured at its widest point. Ten such diameters were collected for each part of the brain (midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata). Data were recorded and analyzed statistically.Brain stem contusions, astrocyte activity, edema, and pathological changes in the neurons were visibly different in the injury and control groups (P?<?0.05). Characteristic changes occurred in the neural axons, axon diameter varied from axon to axon and even over different segments of one axon, and several pathological phenomena were observed. These included segmental thickening and curving, wave-like processing, disarrangement, and irregular swelling. A few axons ruptured and intumesced into retraction balls. Immunohistochemical MBP staining showed enlargement and curving of spaces between the myelin sheaths and axons in certain areas. The myelin sheaths lining the surfaces of the axons were in some cases incomplete and even exfoliated, and segmentation disappeared. These pathological changes increased in severity over time (P?<?0.05).These histopathological changes may prove beneficial to the pathological diagnosis of PBSI during autopsy. Allocation of Licensed and Unlicensed Spectrum in Heterogeneous Networks

Abstract: As the traffic load in cellular networks accelerates, emerging services will make use of multiple radio access technologies (RATs) over both licensed and unlicensed frequency bands. This paper studies the spectrum allocation problem in such heterogeneous networks (HetNets) on a relatively slow timescale, so that joint allocation across many cells is practical. A queueing model is introduced for the unlicensed band to capture its lower spectral efficiency, reliability, and additional delay due to contention and/or listen-before-talk requirements in contrast to licensed bands. Under mild assumptions, the spectrum allocation problem is formulated as a bi-convex optimization problem. Solving this problem gives an effective and computationally efficient solution for both user association and spectrum allocation over multiple RATs. Simulation results show that in the heavy-traffic regime, the proposed scheme significantly outperforms both orthogonal and full-frequency-reuse allocations. In addition, the solution to the optimization problem matches the intuition that users with relatively high traffic demand are mostly assigned to the licensed spectrum, while those with low traffic demand and less exogenous interference from the unlicensed band are assigned to the unlicensed spectrum.
A Message-Passing Approach to Combating Hidden Terminals in Wireless Networks

Abstract: Collisions with hidden terminals is a major cause of performance degradation in 802.11 and likewise wireless networks. Carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) is utilized to avoid collisions at the cost of spatial reuse. This report studies receiver design to mitigate interference from hidden terminals. A wireless channel model with correlated fading in time is assumed. A message-passing approach is proposed, in which a receiver can successfully receive and decode partially overlapping transmissions from two sources rather than treating undesired one as thermal noise. Numerical results of both coded and uncoded systems show the advantage of the receiver over conventional receivers.

Abstract:

Main pollutants of the urban scenic river in Nanjing City are studied in this paper. In the study area a total of 39 monitoring points are set in natural water, around pumping stations and near the tail water of sewage treatment plant. Through the monitoring of pollution sources of receiving conventional index, the pollution sources distribution and river pollution factors are detailed analyzed, as nutrient salts, heavy metals, and environmental endocrine disruptors. And sources of the pollution factors are analyzed by principal component analysis to get the main pollution factors in this channel.

Abstract:
The article mainly analyzes the deposit insurance system in our country promulgated after the provision for the impact of bank loan loss provisions. Empirical study found that the deposit insurance system in our country was promulgated in 2015, the bank’s loan loss provisions increased, among them, the big bank loan loss provisions significantly increased. After separating the manipulated loan loss provisions, we found that the manipulated loan loss provisions increased. Further study found that, following the promulgation of the deposit insurance system, managers in commercial bank weakened the motive of income smoothing, but the bank’s capital management behavior does not.
Foreign gene transfer into Chinese shrimps (Penaeus chinensis) with gene gun

Abstract: Plasmids pG DNA-RZ1 with aGFP (green fluorescent protein) reporter gene and a ribozyme gene incising penaeid white spot baculovirus (WSBV) were first introduced into the fertilized eggs of Chinese shrimps by gene gun. The treated and control samples of different development stages were observed with a fluorescent microscope. The transient expression ofGFP gene was high in nauplius and zoea larvae. Results from RT-PCR and PCR for adults showed that the foreign genes had been transferred into the shrimps and had expressed the corresponding proteins. This work has established a transgenic method for penaeid shrimps, which will set base for the application of genetic engineering breeding into industry.

Abstract: Both HA-CdS and HB-CdS (Hys-CdS, Hys represents HA, HB) complex systems were established according to the dynamics of heterogeneous electron-transfer process $\mu = E_{S^* /S^ + } - E< 0$ . In these systems, the electron transferring from1Hys* to conduction band of CdS is feasible. Determined from the fluorescence quenching, the apparent association constants (Kapp) between Hypocrellin A (HA), Hypocrellin B. (HB) and CdS sol. were about 940 (mol/L) 1, 934 (mol/L) 1, respectively. Fluorescence lifetime measurements gave the rate constant for the electron transfer process from1HA*,1HB* into conduction band of CdS semiconductor as 5.16 × 109 s 1, 5.10 × 109 s 1, respectively. TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethy-1-piperdinyloxy), a stable nitroxide radical, was used in the kinetic study of the reduction reaction taking place on the surface of a CdS colloidal semiconductor, kinetics equation of the reaction was determined with the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) method, and the reaction order of TEMPO is zero. When Hys were added, the rate of EPR increased greatly. By comparing rate constants, the Hys-CdS systems were revealed to be about 350 times more efficient than CdS sol. alone in the photoreduction of TEMPO under visible light. It suggests that Hys can be used as efficient sensitizers of a colloidal semiconductor in the application of solar energy.

Abstract:
In this paper, we analyse the deployment of middlebox. For a given network information and policy requirements, an attempt is made to determine the optimal location of middlebox to achieve the best performance. In terms of the end-to-end delay as a performance optimization index, a distributed middlebox placement algorithm based on potential game is proposed. Through extensive simulations, it demonstrates that the proposed algorithm achieves the near-optimal solution, and the end-to-end delay decreases significantly.
