The Application of Language Awareness in College English Writing Teaching  [PDF]

Abstract: Language awareness refers to the understanding of language forms and functions, which is gradually formed by learners in the process of internalizing specific language knowledge. It is a mental activity that is not only abstract but also complex. English writing examines students’ comprehensive application of English knowledge, and is an indispensable part of English learning. The deficiency of students’ English writing part can be attributed to their lack of corresponding language awareness. This paper first expresses the importance of language awareness in English writing teaching, and then analyzes the main factors that influence the cultivation of college English language awareness, and finally puts forward the new model of college English writing teaching under the drive of language awareness.
The Mechanism of Imported Iron Ore Price in China  [PDF]

Abstract: This study analyzes the relationship and the issues between iron ore market from demand and supply side. It empirically explains how and why the import iron ore price in China fluctuates through Baltic Dry Index, Dollar Index, iron ore production, volume of import iron ore, and also compares the forecast ability between Vector Error Corrected Model (VECM) and ARIMA model. This paper concludes the following finds. Firstly, there is no structural break and seasonality. The data are first degree stationary and have 1 cointegration relationship between variables. In addition, the impulse response function shows that the import iron ore price is positively sensitive to BDI and negatively sensitive to Dollar Index, and it reveals the fact that China has less power to influence the iron ore price even if it has been the largest buyer. Finally, forecast ability assessment shows that VECM outperforms ARIMA model.
An in-pipe micro robot actuated by piezoelectric bimorphs

Abstract: A novel in-pipe micro robot providing stable and accurate locomotion inside a tubular structure with diameters ranging from 16 mm to 18 mm is presented in this paper. Driven by impulsive voltages, deflections of the piezoelectric bimorphs are generated and then converted into translational locomotion by the principle of the Impact Drive Mechanism (IDM). Theoretical analysis of the proposed system is performed based on a simplified mechanical model. Then dynamic simulations of the dynamic behavior are performed. Finally, an experiment is conducted to investigate the moving ability of this device. The results demonstrate that a maximum translational velocity of 3.5 mm/s can be obtained under an impulsive driving voltage with peak value at 50 V and frequency of 1100 Hz. Both theoretical analysis and experimental trials prove that the principle of IDM actuated by piezoelectric bimorphs is feasible and robust for achieving accurate locomotion of the micro robot in pipes with diameters of less than 20 mm.

Abstract: Aiming at the weakness and diversity of the signal of nano-imprinting pressure and to meet the requirements of detection of IPC, a signal conditioning system and software was designed based on Max1452.The system achieved data exchange between IPC and conditioning circuit through RS232.Using data acquisition card to receive and control data acquisition circuit.The data chart was showed on the user interface based on VC++.Experiment showed that the system not only had comparatively high linearity,but was also easy to use.
Invertible Transform-Based Reversible Text Watermarking

Abstract: In some critical application areas, it is not allowed to modify the contents of the text, like military, legal and literature fields. Therefore, restoring the original contents of the text becomes a practical and important issue for text watermarking. This study aims to deal with this problem. We firstly present the concept of reversible text watermarking and then bring forth an effective scheme to achieve reversible text watermarking. Based on the synonym substitution method, the proposed algorithm applies an invertible transform to embed watermark, extract watermark and recover the original contents of the text. By using the reversible watermarking scheme, one can not only protect the interests of the author of the text, but also get the original contents of the text, if the receiver has the wish and right to revert the original contents of the text. Moreover, the scheme improves the payload capacity via using high embedding level, compressing the watermark or repeating the algorithm more than one time.
Characterization of miRNAs in Response to Short-Term Waterlogging in Three Inbred Lines of Zea mays

Abstract: Waterlogging of plants leads to low oxygen levels (hypoxia) in the roots and causes a metabolic switch from aerobic respiration to anaerobic fermentation that results in rapid changes in gene transcription and protein synthesis. Our research seeks to characterize the microRNA-mediated gene regulatory networks associated with short-term waterlogging. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate many genes involved in growth, development and various biotic and abiotic stress responses. To characterize the involvement of miRNAs and their targets in response to short-term hypoxia conditions, a quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR) assay was used to quantify the expression of the 24 candidate mature miRNA signatures (22 known and 2 novel mature miRNAs, representing 66 miRNA loci) and their 92 predicted targets in three inbred Zea mays lines (waterlogging tolerant Hz32, mid-tolerant B73, and sensitive Mo17). Based on our studies, miR159, miR164, miR167, miR393, miR408 and miR528, which are mainly involved in root development and stress responses, were found to be key regulators in the post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms under short-term waterlogging conditions in three inbred lines. Further, computational approaches were used to predict the stress and development related cis-regulatory elements on the promoters of these miRNAs; and a probable miRNA-mediated gene regulatory network in response to short-term waterlogging stress was constructed. The differential expression patterns of miRNAs and their targets in these three inbred lines suggest that the miRNAs are active participants in the signal transduction at the early stage of hypoxia conditions via a gene regulatory network; and crosstalk occurs between different biochemical pathways.
Rational screenning in combinatorial peptide libraries of protein functional loop

Abstract: Redesigning the sequences of protein loops is a frequent practice in protein design. Based on the new results of protein loop database analysis, a rational computer simulation strategy is proposed to obtain functional proteins, which exploits a fast and accurate program to calculate the protein loop conformation, and at the same time, combines molecular docking method with combinatorial chemistry strategy to screen the combinatorial peptide library of protein loops. A characteristic of this method is that it separates the conformation computation of backbone from that of side chain and incorporates side chain growth into the docking procedure and therefore greatly reduces the computation by converting the huge computation on explosive conformations to relatively small computation on limited canonical backbone structures and side chain growth. This method can be practically used in screening combinatorial peptide libraries of protein loops.
Chessboard Coverage Teaching Based on Divide-and-Conquer Algorithm

Abstract: Though the divide-and-conquer algorithm is a powerful technology, but it is difficult to be used in practice, so the design of this algorithm should be regulated in the teaching. In this article, the teaching process and the characters of the divide-and-conquer algorithm are studied when solving the problem of chessboard coverage. Aiming at the deficiency that the existing teaching method uses skills in decomposing sub-problems and increases the teaching difficulty, the coverage sequence of L-type dominoes is improved. The improved algorithm can keep consistent with the divide-and conquer strategy and standardize the iterative process, and increase the normative character and the consistence of the algorithm, and hence achieve ideal teaching result.
Comparative Research on Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm

Abstract: Genetic algorithm (GA) is a kind of method to simulate the natural evolvement process to search the optimal solution, and the algorithm can be evolved by four operations including coding, selecting, crossing and variation. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a kind of optimization tool based on iteration, and the particle has not only global searching ability, but also memory ability, and it can be convergent directionally. By analyzing and comparing two kinds of important swarm intelligent algorithm, the selecting operation in GA has the character of directivity, and the comparison experiment of two kinds of algorithm is designed in the article, and the simulation result shows that the GA has strong ability of global searching, and the convergence speed of PSO is very quick without too many parameters, and could achieve good global searching ability.
