Abstract: With advocating scientific outlook on development and building a harmonious society, China has paid more and more attention to corporate social responsibilities, which mean that companies should fulfill their duties for the interest groups, such as shareholders, employees, consumers, suppliers, communities and governments. As China’s major economic entities, listed companies are supposed to be the pioneers who undertake on social responsibilities. From the standpoints of interest groups, it is necessary to define and determine the social responsibilities of listed companies, build an evaluation indicator system for their responsibilities, turn their responsibilities from the invisible into the visible and explore evaluation modes as well as scientific methods to evaluate their performance, so as to guide them to perform their social responsibilities properly.
A Hybrid Machine Learning Approach for Extracting Information from WWW

Abstract: This paper presents a hybrid machine learning approach to extract information from WWW. It applies structure analysis to improve the extraction accuracy, with 96.5% average precision and 96.7% average recall for static web page, and 100% precision and recall for dynamic web page. Furthermore, the working time is short (< 800 ms) and the number of learning examples is small (< 4) due to little user participation. Our results prove that this approach offers the attractive advantageous of fast, convenient and high-accuracy requirements of practical applications.
Prediction of Human Intestinal Absorption by GA Feature Selection and Support Vector Machine Regression

Abstract: QSAR (Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships) models for the prediction of human intestinal absorption (HIA) were built with molecular descriptors calculated by ADRIANA.Code, Cerius2 and a combination of them. A dataset of 552 compounds covering a wide range of current drugs with experimental HIA values was investigated. A Genetic Algorithm feature selection method was applied to select proper descriptors. A Kohonen's self-organizing Neural Network (KohNN) map was used to split the whole dataset into a training set including 380 compounds and a test set consisting of 172 compounds. First, the six selected descriptors from ADRIANA.Code and the six selected descriptors from Cerius2 were used as the input descriptors for building quantitative models using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis and Support Vector Machine (SVM) Regression. Then, another two models were built based on nine descriptors selected by a combination of ADRIANA.Code and Cerius2 descriptors using PLS and SVM, respectively. For the three SVM models, correlation coefficients (r) of 0.87, 0.89 and 0.88 were achieved; and standard deviations (s) of 10.98, 9.72 and 9.14 were obtained for the test set.
Research on methods of network risk evaluation

Abstract: In order to evaluate the network risk, Hidden Markov random procedure was adopted as analysis means. The output of intrusion detection systems (called alarm events) was used as the processed objects. The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) to describe the state transform of the attacked host system was constructed. The calculation method of the risk coefficient for host systems was given. The risk coefficients for host systems were simply added to obtain the quantitive evaluation of the risk for whole network. The experiments justify that the proposed method is effective.
A novel method to improve the performance of intrusion detection systems

Abstract: The knowledge base is so huge that intrusion detection systems based on knowledge use much time to search the results. Hence a lot of packets are lost in the environment of high-speed network. In order to solve the problem, the feed back mechanism of the network traffic was introduced. Random projection algorithm was used to flexibly adjust the scale of the knowledge base during the pattern matching procedure. The real-time performance of intrusion detection systems was enhanced. The rate of lost packets and the false warning rate of the systems were reduced.

Considering the soft constraint characteristics of voltage constraints, the Interior-Point Filter Algorithm is applied to solve the formulation of fuzzy model for the power system reactive power optimization with a large number of equality and inequality constraints. Based on the primal-dual interior-point algorithm, the algorithm maintains an updating “filter” at each iteration in order to decide whether to admit correction of iteration point which can avoid effectively oscillation due to the conflict between the decrease of objective function and the satisfaction of constraints and ensure the global convergence. Moreover, the “filter” improves computational efficiency because it filters the unnecessary iteration points. The calculation results of a practical power system indicate that the algorithm can effectively deal with the large number of inequality constraints of the fuzzy model of reactive power optimization and satisfy the requirement of online calculation which realizes to decrease the network loss and maintain specified margins of voltage.

Size-l Object Summaries for Relational Keyword Search

Abstract: A previously proposed keyword search paradigm produces, as a query result, a ranked list of Object Summaries (OSs). An OS is a tree structure of related tuples that summarizes all data held in a relational database about a particular Data Subject (DS). However, some of these OSs are very large in size and therefore unfriendly to users that initially prefer synoptic information before proceeding to more comprehensive information about a particular DS. In this paper, we investigate the effective and efficient retrieval of concise and informative OSs. We argue that a good size-l OS should be a stand-alone and meaningful synopsis of the most important information about the particular DS. More precisely, we define a size-l OS as a partial OS composed of l important tuples. We propose three algorithms for the efficient generation of size-l OSs (in addition to the optimal approach which requires exponential time). Experimental evaluation on DBLP and TPC-H databases verifies the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach.
De novo Biosynthesis of Biodiesel by Escherichia coli in Optimized Fed-Batch Cultivation

Abstract: Biodiesel is a renewable alternative to petroleum diesel fuel that can contribute to carbon dioxide emission reduction and energy supply. Biodiesel is composed of fatty acid alkyl esters, including fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) and fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEEs), and is currently produced through the transesterification reaction of methanol (or ethanol) and triacylglycerols (TAGs). TAGs are mainly obtained from oilseed plants and microalgae. A sustainable supply of TAGs is a major bottleneck for current biodiesel production. Here we report the de novo biosynthesis of FAEEs from glucose, which can be derived from lignocellulosic biomass, in genetically engineered Escherichia coli by introduction of the ethanol-producing pathway from Zymomonas mobilis, genetic manipulation to increase the pool of fatty acyl-CoA, and heterologous expression of acyl-coenzyme A: diacylglycerol acyltransferase from Acinetobacter baylyi. An optimized fed-batch microbial fermentation of the modified E. coli strain yielded a titer of 922 mg L?1 FAEEs that consisted primarily of ethyl palmitate, -oleate, -myristate and -palmitoleate.
A taxonomical study on the genus Kengyilia Yen et J. L. Yang

Abstract: Kengyilia Yen et J L Yang is a recently established genus in trib. Triticeae of Poaceae. In this paper, this genus is taxonomically revised, and a new taxonomic system is presented. The new system includes 3 sections, 26 species and 6 varieties, of which 3 sections and 1 species are described as new, 7 taxa are treated respectively in the ways of new status or combination and reduction. Three new sections, sect. Kengyilia, sect. Stenachyra L. B. Cai and sect. Hyalolepis (Nevski) L. B. Cai, are differentiated by the length and width of spike, the growing position of spikelet, the relative length of glume, the colour of anther and so on. The sect. Kengyilia contains 9 species, distributed in northwestern China, extending westward to Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tadzhikistan, Afghanistan and Iran; the sect. Stenachyra L. B. Cai comprises 10 species and 3 verieties, distributed in western China, mainly in the Qinghai Xizang Plateau; and the sect. Hyalolepis (Nevski) L. B. Cai consists of about 7 species and 3 varieties, distributed in western China, extending westward to Kirghizia and Tadzhikistan. Twenty six species of Kengyilia are recognized on the basis of the same criterion of specific concept, and the other taxa below the rank of species are also checked in terms of their external morphology. As a result, Kengyilia pendula L. B. Cai is reported as a new species; K. hirsuta var. obviaristata L. B. Cai is raised to a species; K. melanthera (Keng) J. L. Yang, Yen et Baum is reduced to a variety under K. thoroldiana(Oliver) J. L. Yang, Yen et Baum; Roegneria hirsuta var. leiophylla Keng et S. L. Chen is reduced as a synonym of K. hirsuta var. hirsuta; Agropyron thoroldianum var. laxiusculum Melderis is reduced to K. grandiglumis (Keng et S. L. Chen) J. L. Yang, Yen et Baum; Roegneria rigidula var. intermedia Keng et S. L. Chen to K. rigidula (Keng et S. L. Chen) J. L. Yang, Yen et Baum; R. hirsuta var. variabilis Keng et S. L. Chen and R. melanthera var. tahopaica Keng et S. L. Chen to K. hirsuta (Keng et S. L. Chen) J. L. Yang, Yen et Baum. In addition, new records on the geographical distributions of some taxa are also reported in this paper.
