Genetic Relationships of Soft Rot Bacteria Isolated from Konjac in China by Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) and 16S rDNA Gene Sequences  [PDF]
Jinping Wu, Chaozhu Yang, Zhenbiao Jiao, Zhongli Hu, Zili Ding, Zhengming Qiu
Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/as.2015.67069
Abstract: Twenty-three isolates of soft rot bacteria from konjac corms were examined for their diversity using 16S rDNAs and AFLP technology. Both methods clustered two groups, dependent on their biotype characterization of Pectobacterium carotovora subsp. carotovora (P.c.c) and Pectobacterium chrysanthemi (P.ch), respectively. Of all isolates, 17 (73.9%) belonged to P. ch, indicated as the main pathogenic bacteria of konjac producing areas in China. The genetic variation among isolates from the same biotype was also rich, not consistent with the distances of the geographic sources.
Constitutive and Secretory Expression of the AiiA in Pichia pastoris Inhibits Amorphophallus konjac Soft Rot Disease  [PDF]

American Journal of Molecular Biology (AJMB) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ajmb.2016.62009
Abstract: Amorphophallus konjac is an important economic crop widely cultivated in Southeast Asia and Africa. However, A. konjac is seriously infected by soft rot pathogen. The endocellular acyl homoserine lactonase (AiiA) which is generated by Bacillus species has inhibitory effect on soft rot pathogen through disrupting the signal molecules (N-acylhomoserine lactones, AHL) of their Quorum Sensing system. The aim of our study is to obtain recombinant yeast which produces AiiA protein. The recombinant yeast Pichia pastoris GS115 was constructed to constitutive expression of the AiiA gene. The results of reverse transcript PCR analysis showed that the AiiA gene was expressed successfully in the yeast. Proteins extracted from YPDS showed the highest inhibition efficacy to E. carotovora compared with the other two mediums (YPD and LB) under tested conditions.
First Report of Marginal Scorch Infecting Indigowoad Root in China  [PDF]

American Journal of Plant Sciences (AJPS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ajps.2016.710132
Abstract: During 2015, marginal scorch symptoms were detected in the production base of indigowoad rootin Hubei, China. On the basis of morphological features and 18S rDNA sequences, the pathogen was identified as Cladosporium sp. Koch’s postulates were fulfilled by pathogenicity tests on potted indigowoad root seedlings. To our knowledge, this report is the first of marginal scorch on indigowoad root caused by Cladosporium sp. We propose the name “marginal scorch” for the new disease.
The Integrals of Entwining Structure  [PDF]

Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2013.34055

In this paper the integrals of entwining structure (A,C,ψ) are discussed, where A is a k-algebra, C a k-coalgebra and \"\" a k-linear map. We prove that there exists a normalized integral γ:CHom(C,A) of (

The Linear Formulation of Thermal Unit Commitment Problem with Uncertainties through a Computational Mixed Integer  [PDF]
Mian Khuram Ahsan, Tianhong Pan, Zhengming Li
Journal of Power and Energy Engineering (JPEE) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jpee.2018.66001
Abstract: The solar and wind renewable energy is developing very rapidly to fulfill the energy gap. This specific increasing share of renewable energy is a reaction to the ecological trepidations to conciliate economics with security due to the new challenges in power system supply. In solar and wind renewable energy, the only partially predictable is the output with very low controllability which creates unit commitment problems in thermal units. In this research paper, a different linear formulation via mixed integer is presented that only requires “binary variables” and restraints concerning earlier stated models. The framework of this model allows precisely the costs of time-dependent startup & intertemporal limitations, for example, minimum up & down times and a ramping limit. To solve the unit commitment problem efficiently, a commercially available linear programming of mixed-integer is applied for sizeable practical scale. The results of the simulation are shown in conclusions.
A Three Decades of Marvellous Significant Review of Power Quality Events Regarding Detection & Classification  [PDF]
Mian Khuram Ahsan, Tianhong Pan, Zhengming Li
Journal of Power and Energy Engineering (JPEE) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jpee.2018.68001
Abstract: Around the globe, the necessity of green supply with a dedicated standard quality thrust of consumers is increasing day by day. The advancement in technology urges the electrical power system to deliver a high-quality rated undistorted sinusoidal current, the voltage at a constant desired standard frequency to its consumers. The present paper reveals a complete and inclusive study of power quality events, such as automatic classification and signal processing via creative techniques and the noises effect on the detection and classification of power quality disturbances. It’s planned to make a possible list for quick reference to obtain an extensive variety on the condition & status of available research for detection and classification for young engineers, designers and researchers who enter in the power quality field. The current extensive study is supported by a critical review of more than 200 publications on detection and classification techniques of power quality disturbances.

Modeling and Numerical Simulation of Material Science (MNSMS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/mnsms.2013.34019

The problem of population development has always been the key problem of restricting the development of our country. In order to increase the prediction accuracy, we analyze the exponential model, logistic model and continuous model. Also, the improved discrete population development model is provided to control the quantity and improve the quality of population.

α-Times Integrated C Semigroups and Strong Solution of Abstract Cauchy Problem  [PDF]
Man Liu, Shuling Wang, Qingzhi Yu, Zhengming Wang
International Journal of Modern Nonlinear Theory and Application (IJMNTA) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ijmnta.2013.23022

The infinite generator of α-times Integrated C semigroups and the properties of resolvent are given. At the same time, we discuss the relationship between the existence of strong solution of a class of nonhomogeneous abstract Cauchy problem and α-times integrated C semigroups, and a sufficient and necessary condition is obtained.

Qianqian Zhu, Man Liu, Qingzhi Yu, Zhengming Wang
Modeling and Numerical Simulation of Material Science (MNSMS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/mnsms.2013.34015

By analyzing the susceptible-infected model, susceptible-infected-recovered-susceptible model and susceptible infected-recovered model, we get the improved Kermachk-Mckendrick model. And by applying the controlled threshold value, we get the conditions of isolated rate for infectious disease eventually disappeared.
