Abstract: We consider a practical market model in which all commodities are inherently indivisible and thus are traded in integer quantities, or consumption choices are available only in discrete quantities. We ask whether a finite set of price-quantity observations satisfying the Generalized Axiom of Revealed Preference (GARP) is consistent with utility maximization. Due to the absence of perfect divisibility and continuity, the existing argument and also familiar assumptions such as non-satiation cannot be used in the current discrete model. We develop a new approach to deal with this problem and establish a discrete analogue of Afrita’s celebrated theorem. We also introduce a new concept called tight budget demand set which is a natural refinement of the standard notion of demand set and plays a crucial role in the current analysis. Exploring network structure and a new and easy-to-use variant of GARP, we propose an elementary, simple, combinatorial and constructive proof for our result.
Theoretical analysis of the backdraft phenomena induced by liquid fuel

Abstract: A dynamical model of temperature of hot smoke layer is quantitatively established based on the whole backdraft procedure induced by liquid fuel. The whole procedure consists of the prebum fire (the first period), the secondary fuel injection (the second period) and backdraft development (the third period). The model considers enthalpy loss of liquid fuel volatilization and hot smoke layer mass gain. In this paper, simulative results of the model are well compared with experimental results, and simulative results of the model are analyzed. Furthermore, combustion efficiency under limited ventilation and practical combustion reaction rate are worth investigating.

Abstract: This paper presents the zone modeling analysis of a single compartment flashover fire. Two criteria are applied in the model to judge the onset of ignition for different combustibles. By calculating the total received energy through radiation or the surface temperature of the combustible, the fire growth can be quantitatively determined. The improved zone fire model shows the influence of different combustibles upon the fire growth. This model is better than the traditional zone model because the common criteria of flashover, i.e. an upper layer temperature of 600°C and the heat radiation intensity received by the floor of 20 kW/m2, have not been applied in it.

A revision of the Chinese Gasteruptiidae (Hymenoptera, Evanioidea)

Abstract: The Chinese fauna of the family Gasteruptiidae is revised, keyed and fully illustrated for the first time. Only one genus of this family, Gasteruption Latreille, 1796, is recorded from China. In total 28 valid species of the genus Gasteruption are recognized. Six species are new to science (Gasteruption angulatum sp. n., G. assectoides sp. n., G. coloratum sp. n., G. latitibia sp. n., G. sinepunctatum sp. n. and G. strigosum sp. n.) and eight species are reported new for China (G. bimaculatum Pasteels, 1958, G. birmanense Pasteels, 1958, G. dimidiatum Semenov, 1892, G. formilis Alekseev, 1995, G. subhamatum Pasteels, 1958, G. tonkinense Pasteels, 1958, G. tournieri Schletterer, 1885, G. transversiceps Pasteels, 1958). Three new synonyms are proposed: G. curiosum Pasteels, 1958, of G. amoyense Pasteels, 1958; G. sinense var. minus Kieffer, 1924, with G. japonicum Cameron, 1888, and G. sinense Kieffer, 1924, of G. sinarum Kieffer, 1911. Lectotypes are designated for Gasteruption corniculigerum Enderlein, 1913, G. sinense Kieffer, 1924, and G. transversiceps Pasteels, 1958. Gasteruption bihamatum Kieffer, 1911, previously reported from South China, is a South American species.

Larval parasitoids of agromyzid leaf miner genus Liriomyza in the southern Thailand : species and their host plants

Abstract: Larval parasitoids of the leaf miner genus Liriomyza were studied in six provinces of southern Thailand, Songkhla, Phatthalung, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Satun and Pattani, from April 2000- March 2001. Two families of hymenopteran parasitoids, Eulophidae and Braconidae, were found. The eulophid included Asecodes sp. nr. notandus (Sivestri), Cirrospilus ambiguus Hanssan & LaSalle, Hemiptarsenus variconis (Girault), Neochrysocharis formosa (Westwood) and Quadrastichus sp. nr. liriomyzae Hanssan & LaSalle. There was only one braconid species, Opius dissitus (Muesebeck). Among these, A. sp. nr. notandus was found in highest frequency while H. variconis had the widest range of host plants. The parasitoids were found on 14 host plant species. Vigna sesquipedalis was able to be used by all six species of parasitoids. It was also the host plant most often used by the parasitoids in this study.
Notes on the genus Ismarus Haliday (Hymenoptera, Diapriidae) from China

Abstract: The genus Ismarus Haliday, 1835 from China is revised for the first time. Three species from Oriental region of China are described and illustrated as new species: Ismarus longus sp. n., Ismarus nigritrochanter sp. n. and Ismarus parvicellus sp. n., with two species: Ismarus dorsiger (Halidy, 1831) and Ismarus halidayi Foerster, 1850 are newly recorded from Chinese fauna. A key to the Chinese species is provided. All type specimens are deposited in the Hymenoptera Collection of South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou (SCAU).
