Abstract: The basic governing equations of coastal dynamics have been known for decades, but how can these equations be formulated to improve our understanding of coastal basins? The Dynamics of Coastal Models by Clifford Hearn does a great job of explaining and illustrating fundamental coastal dynamics and equations through the use of simple analytical and numerical models. It motivates readers to further explore model physics using simple Microsoft Excel or Matlab examples from which basic ideas can be easily extracted (numerical codes are also tabulated). These examples are so simple that interested readers who have a basic math and science background can gain useful physical and mathematical insights into coastal dynamics through the simple models presented (which are never higher than two-dimensional). These models are very powerful tools, enabling clear demonstration and easy understanding of basic principles.

Abstract: 摘要: 以金融领域的科技文献作为实验数据,提出了一种新的用于动态挖掘领域相关的作者研究兴趣的复合主题演化模型。该模型能够获取作者在不同时间片下的主题概率分布以及主题下词汇概率分布,并充分考虑作者在合作作者文献中的排名对于其研究主题和主题变化的影响。通过金融领域的实证研究表明,该复合主题演化模型能够有效地揭示金融领域作者研究兴趣的动态变化。
Abstract: We propose a new combined topic model, i.e. author topic time-latent dirichlet allocation(ATT-LDA)with author ranking(AR), for the of dynamic discovery of researchers' interest, which is based on the academic literature in the financial field. Through the proposed model, we can easily acquire the probability distribution of the authors' interest, as well as the probability distribution of topics on deferent words. The influence of the ranking in the co-author list are fully taken into consideration. The empirical study shows that the proposed method can effectively reveal the dynamic change of interest of the authors in the financial field

Abstract: 利用激光喇曼光谱分析了名义组分为(Y1-xCex)Ba2Cu3O7-δ(x=0,0.05,0.1,0.3,0.55,1.0)的系列样品的相组成,发现随着Ce的掺入,样品中除生成正交Y(123)相材料以外,还生成BaCeO3和BaCuO2等杂相。结果表明,Ce很可能根本没有替代Y生成Ce(123)相,而是和Ba生成了BaCeO3杂质相

Abstract: 本文对In+2%Sn,In+3%Sn的不同厚度合金膜的临界场Hc进行了研究,从实验上第一次提供了电子平均自由程l≠∞时的Hc~d的数据。这些实验结果表明,关于超导膜临界场问题只能用非线性非定域理论描述,在薄膜极限下,不论纯膜或合金膜,Hc∝d-3/2;定域的London,Г-Л理论和线性非定域的Ittner理论皆不适用。一部分文献中给出Hc∝d-1的结论,是由于那些作者分析实验结果的方法不恰当所致。

Abstract: The proposed system will identify possible disease conditions and facilitates early diagnosis through hybrid computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and time-resolved magnetic resonance imaging (4-D MRI). The simulation is based on the 3-D heart model, which can simultaneously compute fluid and elastic boundary motions using the immersed boundary method. At this preliminary stage, the 4-D MRI is used to provide an appropriate comparison. This allows flexible investigation of the flow features in the ventricles and their responses.The results simulate various flow rates and kinetic energy in the diastole and systole phases, demonstrating the feasibility of capturing some of the important characteristics of the heart during different phases. However, some discrepancies exist in the pulmonary vein and aorta flow rate between the numerical and experimental data. Further studies are essential to investigate and solve the remaining problems before using the data in clinical diagnostics.The results show that by using a simple reservoir pressure boundary condition (RPBC), we are able to capture some essential variations found in the clinical data. Our approach establishes a first-step framework of a practical patient-specific CMS, which comprises a 3-D CFD model (without involving actual hemodynamic data yet) to simulate the heart and the 4-D PC-MRI system. At this stage, the 4-D PC-MRI system is used for verification purpose rather than input. This brings us closer to our goal of developing a practical patient-specific CMS, which will be pursued next. We anticipate that in the future, this hybrid system can potentially identify possible disease conditions in LV through comprehensive analysis and facilitates physicians in early diagnosis of probable cardiac problems.Research commonly uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation to investigate cardiovascular problems.
