Tandemly repeated sequence in 5’end of mtDNA control region of Japanese Spanish mackerel Scomberomorus niphonius

Abstract: Extensive length variability was observed in 5’ end sequence of the mitochondrial DNA control region of the Japanese Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus niphonius). This length variability was due to the presence of varying numbers of a 56-bp tandemly repeated sequence and a 46-bp insertion/deletion (indel). The structure and organization of this segment is similar to that of other teleost fish and vertebrates. However, extensive variation in the copy number of tandem repeats (0–5 copies) and the presence of a relatively large (46-bp) indel, are apparently uncommon in teleost fish control region sequences reported to date. The common occurrence of tandem arrays in fish control regions could be related to a stable secondary structure. Based on the frequency distribution of tandem repeat units, no significant geographic heterogeneity (P=0.904) among eight populations of Japanese Spanish mackerel was detected by the exact test. Long period of larval stage, strong dispersal ability of adults and long migrations might be responsible for the high genetic connections among populations and reducing the genetic heterogeneity.
Genetic structure of Japanese Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus niphonius) in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea inferred from AFLP data

Abstract: The population genetic structure of Japanese Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus niphonius) in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea was analyzed using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). A total of 247 putative loci were detected by four primer combinations among 83 individuals of Japanese Spanish mackerel collected from Ganyu, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Cheju Island and Nagasaki, 129 of which were polymorphic (52.23%). The proportion of polymorphic loci and Nei’s genetic diversity for five populations ranged from 38.54% (Ganyu) to 45.70% (Nagasaki), and from 0.0808 (Cheju Island) to 0.0984 (Nagasaki). AMOVA analysis and pairwise FST revealed significant genetic differentiation among five populations. The UPGMA tree revealed the significant geographic structure in this species. Considering the high hydrological connectivity of this region and the species pelagic life history, retention of larvae, different migration route and different spawning season may be responsible for the significant genetic differentiation among populations in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea.

Abstract: BT2, a newly isolated endophytic fungus from Taxus chinensis var. mairei, was observed to produce Taxol. Besides Taxol, a potent anticancer drug, BT2 could also yield taxane baccatin III, which was an important intermediate for Taxol and semi-synthesis of Taxol in industry. The isolation of such a fungus may provide a promising alterative approach to produce Taxol, and BT2 can serve as a potential material for fungus engineering to improve Taxol production
FEM simulation of residual stresses induced by laser shock with overlapping laser spots

Abstract: The finite element method is presented to attain the numerical simulation of the residual stresses field in the material treated by laser shock processing. The distribution of residual stresses generated by a single laser shock with square and round laser spot is predicted and validated by experimental results. With the Finite Element Method (FEM) model, effects of different overlapping rates and impact sequences on the distribution of residual stresses are simulated. The results indicate that: (1) Overlapping laser shock can increase the compressive residual stresses. However, it is not effective on the growth of plastically affected depth; (2) Overlapping rate should be optimized and selected carefully for the large area treatment. Appropriate overlapping rate is beneficial to obtain a homogeneous residual stress field; (3) The impact sequence has a great effect on the residual stress field. It can greatly attenuate the phenomenon of the "residual stress hole" to obtain a homogeneous residual stress field.

Abstract: Loss data structures in non-life insurance businesses are increasingly complex, and the tendency of correlation and heterogeneity is gradually presented. Hierarchical model can breakthrough limitation that the traditional rate determination method only analyzes the loss data of the same insurance policy; meanwhile, the accuracy of complex structure data prediction is improved. This paper, using a hierarchical generalized linear model, studies the non-life rate determination of multi-year loss data and takes auto insurance data for empirical analysis. The research results show that GLMM’s fitting degree is greatly improved compared with GLM, considering the random effects. It can more effectively reflect different risk individual differences and also reveal the heterogeneity and correlation of risk individual loss during multiple insurance periods.

Abstract: In this paper, Hicks-Moorsteen TFP index is employed to investigate regional efficiency and productivity of 21 cities in Guangdong province during 2000-2015. The findings demonstrate that the efficiency of the whole province first rises and then falls, and has rebounded in recent years. Technical efficiency and scope efficiency have increased, while regional scale efficiency has declined. The Pearl River Delta region has obvious competitive advantages, and scope efficiency alleviates the decline in the efficiency of the non PRD. Secondly, the results indicate that Shenzhen has strong regional development competitiveness, and the economic development efficiency which leads Guangdong province. Thirdly, although the total factor productivity of 21 cities in Guangdong province has increase 0.38 percent with an average level of 1.0165 during this period with a comparatively large fluctuation, the slow growth of technological progress hindered the progress of TFP to some extent. In addition, the TFP level in the PRD region has some advantages over the non PRD region. Finally, as the most efficient city, Shenzhen’s TFP level is in the middle and upper reaches and has great potential.

Abstract: After a brief conceptual explanation and background introduction of real estate finance and its risks, this paper mainly focuses on the relationship between real estate price fluctuation and financial risk, real estate bubble, the formation and transmission of real estate financial risk, and the control of real estate financial risk. Several research categories were classified and related research was reviewed. In the end, it summarizes and puts forward that China’s research on real estate financial risk also has the following problems and development direction: the research on the connotation of real estate financial risk needs to be improved; the research on real estate bubble needs to be quantified; the research on risk formation needs to be deepened from the mechanism; the research on risk transmission needs to be combined with the reality of China; and the empirical research on real estate financial risk needs to be improved.

The re-searcher then delves in issues areas looking at Human resource models, and then highlights strategic reasons advanced for outsourcing; while discussing economic reasons for outsourcing, vendor selection and decision making in outsourcing process. The paper concludes presenting factors that may influ-ence human resource outsourcing decisions.
Purification and biochemical characterization of a novel glutathione S-transferase of the silkworm, Bombyx mori

Abstract: A novel glutathione S-transferase has been purified from Bombyx mori larvae using affinity chromatography on a glutathione agarose column. The purified enzyme appeared as a single band on SDS-PAGE and had a Mr of 28 kDa. Steady state kinetic assays of the enzyme were conducted with 1- chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene as a substrate. The Km, Vmax, Kcat and Kcat/Km for the purified BmGST were 0.494 mM, 72.07 mmol/min/mg, 65.43 s-1 and 132.45 mM-1·s-1, respectively. The enzyme had a maximum activity at approximately pH 7.1 and 25oC. BmGST indicated lower inhibitory rate by some inhibitors (albendazol, praziquantel, bile acid and NaCl), suggesting that this novel BmGST could differ structurally or functionally from other animal GSTs.
