Are Boys More Aggressive than Girls after Playing Violent Computer Games Online? An Insight into an Emotional Stroop Task  [PDF]
Jingjin Tian, Zhang Qian
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2014.51006

The study was to examine the gender differences in aggression among Chinese children after playing violent computer games by using emotional STROOP task. 98 children participated in this study, with 49 assigned to violent computer game group and the other 49 assigned to nonviolent computer game group. The results demonstrated that there were significant differences in main affect of game type, and significant Game Type × Gender interaction as well. In particular, boys’ aggression was significantly impacted by violent games, whereas girls’ aggression was not significantly impacted by violent games. The implication of this research is that, the significant difference in aggression to gender is activated, and that boys were more aggressive and sensitive to violent games than girls.

A Study of College Students’ Civil Servants Fever Based on Chinese and Western Values  [PDF]
Qian Zhang, Xiufeng Tian
Sociology Mind (SM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/sm.2014.43022
The civil servant exam has become the fiercest examination in China since 1994; more and more people take this examination. Among the candidates, college students have occupied the overwhelming majority who fanatically take part in the civil service exams and choose civil servants as their future career. This paper aims to discuss the reasons behind the civil servants’ fever in China based on the comparison of Chinese and western values in four aspects: cultural, social, familial and personal. Finally, this paper makes an attempt to provide further suggestions to improve the unbalanced situation of the source allocation in China.

Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.43011

In this paper, we take the advantage of high frequency data to develop option pricing model and select the Realized GARCH model to describe the volatility of assets, use NIG distribution to describe the distribution of underlying assets, and also build the Realized-GARCH-NIG model to price the option. Finally, we obtain the dynamic option pricing model based on the Realized-GARCH-NIG approach. To verify the effect of the dynamic option pricing model based on the Realized-GARCH- NIG approach, this paper provides the empirical analysis between the dynamic option pricing model based on the Realized-GARCH-NIG approach and the B-S option pricing model. The results show that the option value obtained from the dynamic option pricing model based on the Realized-GARCH-NIG approach is more accurate and effective than the B-S option pricing model.

DNF-AF Selection Two-Way Relaying
Tian Zhang
Mathematics , 2012,
Abstract: Error propagation and noise propagation at the relay node would highly degrade system performance in two-way relay networks. In this paper, we introduce DNF-AF selection two-way relaying scheme which aims to avoid error propagation and mitigate noise propagation. If the relay successfully decodes the exclusive or (XOR) of the messages sent by the two transceivers, it applies denoise-and-forward (DNF). Otherwise, amplify-and-forward (AF) strategy will be utilized. In this way, decoding error propagation is avoided at the relay. Meanwhile, since the relay attempts to decode the XOR of the two messages instead of explicitly decoding the two messages, the larger usable range of XOR network coding can be obtained. As XOR network coding can avoid noise propagation, DNF-AF would mitigate noise propagation. In addition, bit error rate (BER) performance of DNF-AF selection scheme with BPSK modulation is theoretically analyzed in this paper. Numerical results verify that the proposed scheme has better BER performance than existing ones.
Delay-aware data transmission of multi-carrier communications in the presence of renewable energy
Tian Zhang
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: In the paper, we investigate the delay-aware data transmission in renewable energy aided multi-carrier system. Besides utilizing the local renewables, the transmitter can also purchase grid power. By scheduling the amount of transmitted data (The data are stored in a buffer before transmission), the sub-carrier allocation, and the renewable allocation in each transmission period, the transmitter aims to minimize the purchasing cost under a buffer delay constraint. By theoretical analysis of the formulated stochastic optimization problem, we find that transmit the scheduled data through the subcarrier with best condition is optimal and greedy renewable energy is approximately optimal. Furthermore, based on the theoretical derives and Lyapunov optimization, an on-line algorithm, which does NOT require future information, is proposed. Numerical results illustrate the delay and cost performance of the proposed algorithm. In addition, the comparisons with the delay-optimal policy and cost-optimal policy are carried out.

Qiang ZHANG, Shouju LI, Ying TIAN
Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2009, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2009.25046
Abstract: In view of incomplete probability information multi-objective question, it used probabilistic perturbation method and Edgeworth series technique to study reliability optimization design. The first four moments of basic random variables are known under condition. It used the Ant Colony Algorithm to design cutting head roadheader, the optimized result indicated that cutting head load fluctuation and compared energy consumption were reduced obviously at the same time. This result enhanced roadheader operational reliability and energy effectively.

Abstract: To solve the question of the present situation of professional education, we analyze the outstanding problems of the process, and put forward the design of content, the main measures of reform and the relationship that should be handled in the process of 1 + X evaluation mode reform, in order to adapt to the reform of the professional education, and build a scientific and reasonable system of 1 + X evaluation mode. Accordingly, we can improve the quality of teaching and talent training.
Impact of media violence on aggressive attitude for adolescents  [PDF]
Qian Zhang, Dingyong Xiong, Jingjin Tian
Health (Health) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/health.2013.512294

The goal of this study was mainly to examine the impact of media violence on aggressive attitude among Chinese adolescents by using a modified STROOP task. 74 adolescents participated in this study, 37 were assigned to violent movie group and 37 were assigned to non-violent movie group. The results showed significant Movie Type and Trait Aggressiveness interaction, and adolescents with high aggressiveness (HA) had a significantly higher aggressive attitude than adolescents with mild aggressiveness (MA) and low aggressiveness (LA) after watching violent movies. Furthermore, the relation between significant Movie Type and Gender interaction was also found, and boys showed a significantly higher aggressive attitude than girls after watching violent movies. This implied that violent movies could effectively affect aggressive attitude for adolescents in China.
