Analysis of the Influence Factors of Differential Settlement of High Embankment in Mountain Area  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper reveals and analyses various influence factors which cause differential settlement of high embankment in mountain area using indoor consolidation test and field loading test. In this research, the actual stress characteristics of high embankment are simplified, stability compression value of stuffing with loads under lateral restricted conditions can be measured, e-p curves and p-s curves are drawn, we can calculate compression modulus as computation criteria to estimate the settlement of high embankment. The results indicate that unconsolidated flow of high embankment is the main factor to cause differential settlement of high embankment in mountain area. As the soil consolidated, compressive deformation and the strength gradually increase, the bearing capacity of the foundation is enhanced to reduce differential settlement of the post-construction of high embankment.
A Secure and Energy-Balanced Routing Scheme for Mobile Wireless Sensor Network  [PDF]

Abstract: Mobile wireless sensor network (MWSN) has the features of self-organization, multiple-hop and limited energy resources. It is vulnerable to a wide set of security attacks, including those targeting the routing protocol functionality. In this paper, the existing security problems and solutions in MWSN are summarized, and then a trust management system based on neighbor monitoring is proposed. In the trust management system, the trust value is calculated by the neighbor monitoring mechanism, and the direct trust value and the indirect trust value are combined to establish the distributed trust model to detect the malicious nodes. The consistency check algorithm is capable of defending against the attacks on the trust model. In addition, because of the limited energy of the sensor nodes, the energy-balanced algorithm is introduced to prolong the lifespan of MWSN. The residual energy and energy density are considered in the routing decision. Finally, the simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm can detect the malicious nodes effectively and achieve the energy-balanced goal to prolong the lifespan of MWSN.

Abstract: In this work, starting from the (G'/G)-expansion method and a variable separation method, a new non-traveling wave general solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton system are derived. By selecting appropriately the arbitrary functions in the solutions, special soliton-structure excitations and evolutions are studied.
The microstructure and formation of biological soil crusts in their early developmental stage

Abstract: The biological soil crust serves as one of the biological factors contributing to the sand fixation in the Gurbantunggut Desert, the largest fixed and semi-fixed desert in China. This study was conducted to investigate the microstructure and formation of biological soil crusts which develop as a result of occurrence of cryptogams. One year after removal of biological soil crusts, the exposed surface could be fixed by bacteria, which make sand particles cohere by exopolysaccharides. The exopolysaccharides were mainly composed of glucose, mannitol, arabinose and galactose. The intension of pressure for this kind of crust is 13.42±1.38 Pa. After four-year recovery of the exposed sandy surface, the biological soil crust resulting from the colonization of soil surface by communities of filamentous cyanobacteria were mainly dominated byMicrocoleus, which occurred as a cluster of filaments surrounded by a gelatinous sheath. At this developmental stage, the main contributors for sand fixation were changed from bacteria to filamentous cyanobacteria. Microscopic examination of this kind of crust revealed an intricate network of filamentous cyanobacteria and extracellular polymer secretions, which binds and entraps mineral particles and finer particles on the filament surface. These effects enhance soil cohesion and resistance to erosion. The intension of pressure for this kind of crust is 32.53±3.08 Pa.
Frequency characteristics and spatial effect analysis of dynamic responses of circular tunnel under different seismic intensity

Abstract: 为研究地震烈度对地下圆形隧洞频谱特性及空间效应的影响,开展几何相似比为1:30的振动台模型试验。介绍模型试验中的测点布置、输入波型及加载方案,对模型场域及隧洞结构的加速度反应和频谱特性进行研究,对比结构不同观测面处的地震响应差异,分析不同地震动强度、加载波形及空间位置对圆形隧洞结构频谱特性的影响。研究结果表明:模型地基及结构的加速度响应受输入波形及加载强度的影响明显;地震强度越大、埋深越浅,峰值加速度越大,反之则越小,而加速度放大系数随着地震强度的增高而降低;地基与结构频谱特性具有典型的“低扬高抑”特征,同一测点在相同地震波不同强度作用下得到的傅氏谱频谱特性基本一致,卓越频率所在频段基本相同,而傅氏谱值大小与输入地震动强度有关;结构加速度动力响应具有显著的空间效应,且与加载波形、输入地震动强度和观测面的位置有关。
In order to study the influence of different seismic intensity on the frequency spectrum and the spatial effect of the underground circular tunnel, a shaking table model test was carried out with geometric similarity ratio of 1/30. The arrangement of measuring points, the input wave type and the loading scheme in shocking model test are introduced briefly. The acceleration responses and spectrum characteristics of the model foundation and structure as well as the differences of seismic responses at different observation planes are studied. Meanwhile, the effects of different ground motion intensity, loading waveform and spatial position on the spectrum characteristics are analyzed. The results show that the acceleration responses of the model foundation and structure are obviously affected by the input waveform and the load intensity. Although the peak acceleration is proportional to the seismic intensity and inversely proportional to the depth, the acceleration amplification coefficient is inversely proportional to the load intensity. The frequency spectrum has a typical characteristics of “low lift and high suppression”. The Fourier frequency spectrum characteristics of the measured points are the same under different loading conditions and the Fourier amplitude spectrum is related to the intensity of input ground motion. The acceleration responses of the structure have a significant spatial effect, which is affected by the loading waveform, input ground motion intensity and the the observation position

Abstract: Western China is not only an important ecological conservation area, but also has rich natural resources and environmental conditions. Therefore, the western China must vigorously develop green low carbon economy to realize the win-win of natural ecological environment protection and socio-economic development. At present, the western China has not only great potential in technology progress, industrial upgrading and energy saving and emission reduction, but also has good endowment conditions and comparative advantages in the development of agricultural carbon sequestration, eco-tourism and clean energy development. Therefore, the western region in China should make full use of these advantages to promote low carbon economy development. At the present stage, the western China should actively promote industrial upgrading and structural optimization, comprehensively implement natural ecological protection engineering, reasonably develop and utilize mineral resources, fully utilize renewable clean energy resources, promote eco-tourism, give priority to organic ecological agriculture, and accelerate urbanization and urban ecology-oriented development.

Abstract: For China’s inefficient foreign exchange market, as the foreign exchange market is difficult to clear in time, so the foreign exchange market pressure always exists. Therefore, the in-depth study and discussion of China’s foreign exchange market pressure issue has important practical significance. This paper applies Lance Girton and Don Roper’s monetary model of exchange market pressure to China’s experience. The purpose of this paper is mainly to test whether the excess supply of money in China can be absorbed by some combination of the change in exchange rate and the change in foreign reserves. The results of empirical analysis indicate that the basic theoretical proposition is accordant with the practice.
Low Carbon Agriculture and GHG Emission Reduction in China: An Analysis of Policy Perspective  [PDF]

Abstract: Although agriculture is an important source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, yet it has huge potentials for GHG emissions reduction. Therefore, vigorously to develop low-carbon agriculture is one of the most important means for China to achieve the targets of GHG emissions reduction. This paper uses cost-benefit analysis method to demonstrate the key factors that affect low-carbon agriculture and green agricultural product development and related policy measures. Research results indicate that, key to promoting the transition of high-carbon to low-carbon agriculture is how to create good scheme, mechanism and policy, and the most effective measures for low-carbon agriculture development are fully to play the role of market mechanism. Meanwhile, other policies, such as the improvement of agricultural inputs and land cultivation, wetland protection, carbon sink agriculture development and so forth, have to be practiced, too.

Abstract: Utilizing the Clarkson-Kruskal direct method, the symmetry of the (2 + 1)-dimensional dispersive long wave equation is derived. From which, through solving the characteristic equations, four types of the explicit reduction solutions that related the hyperbolic tangent function are obtained. Finally, several soliton excitations are depicted from one of the solutions.
