Oil, Gas and Energy Business under One Belt One Road Strategic Context  [PDF]

Abstract:
One Belt One Road (OBOR) Initiative of China is a mega and historical project which facilitates international oil, gas and energy trade and connects people over the world. This article examines the oil, gas, and energy business status under OBOR. It also explores the risk associated with oil, gas and energy business under OBOR initiative of China. The article used secondary sources extensively. The article reveals that China is the top-level energy importing country and the strategy of OBOR is favorable for oil, gas and energy business for all partner countries of OBOR. It also explores the potential risk for oil, gas and energy business under OBOR like political risk, economic risk, investment environment, resource potential, environmental constraints and Chinese factors which can be minimized by using two risk free economic corridors viz. China-Pakistan Corridor (CPEC) and Myanmar-China oil pipeline. The article suggests that a strong initiative should be taken by the government to implement OBOR strategy for creating favorable investment opportunities in China especially for Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan.
Temperature dependence of surface enhanced Raman scattering on C70

Abstract: The temperature dependence of surface enhanced Raman scattering of the C70 molecule is reported. The Raman scattering of C70 molecules adsorbed on the surface of a silver mirror was measured at different temperatures. The experimental results indicate that the relative intensities of the Raman features vary with the temperature of the sample. When the temperature decreases from room temperature to 0°C, the relative intensities of certain Raman bands decrease abruptly. If we take the strongest band 1565 cm 1 as a standard value 100, the greatest decrease approaches to 43%. However, with the further decrease in the temperature these relative intensities increase and resume the value at room temperature. And such a temperature dependence is reversible. Our results show that the adsorption state of the C70 molecules on the silver surface around 0°C changes greatly with the temperature, resulting in a decrease in relative intensities for some main Raman features of C70 molecule. When the temperature is lower than 0°C, the adsorption state changes continually and more slowly. Synchronously, eight new Raman features, which have not ever been reported in literature, are observed in our experiment and this enriches the basic information of the vibrational modes for C70 molecule.
Effect of Insulated Oblique Plates on Heat Transfer and Recirculating Flow in a Channel  [PDF]

Abstract:

Flow and heat transfer characteristics of a channel with oblique plates which are mounted periodically on the channel wall have been numerically investigated in a laminar range. The main objective of the present study is to find the effect of the tilt angle of oblique plate on pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics in unsteady states. To get the different conditions of the heat transfer and flow evolution, two key parameters of the Reynolds number and the tilt angle of oblique plate are considered. At Re=200,600, the tilt angles are changed for the range of 50° - 130°. The computational results show that the heat transfer and pressure drop are strongly dependent on the tile angle and Reynolds number. When the flows are unsteady, the tilt angle has an important role in the heat transfer enhancement. Oscillatory structures induce the better mixing of the thermal field and promote the wall heat transfer. For a constant plate length, the wall heat trans- fer is maximized near the 90° - 100°. This is strongly coupled with the variations of flow mixing induced by the oblique plate.

Abstract:

Unsteady flows in a channel with oblique plates have been numerically investigated. The oblique plates as disturbance promoters are installed at the upper wall. Unsteady characteristics are examined for Re = 350 and the plate angles of a = 60- 120. The flow fields represent three-dimensional features variously as the plate angle varies. From frequency analysis, it is noted that the disturbed flow by the oblique plates has peculiar unsteady modes. As the flow is more unstable, multiple frequencies are appeared.

Impact of Size Effect on Graphene Nanoribbon Transport

Abstract: Graphene has shown impressive properties for nanoelectronics applications including a high mobility and a width-dependent bandgap. Use of graphene in nanoelectronics would most likey be in the form of graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) where the ribbon width is expected to be less than 20 nm. Many theoretical projections have been made on the impact of edge-scattering on carrier transport in GNRs - most studies point to a degradation of mobility (of GNRs) as well as the on/off ratio (of GNR FETs). This study provides the first clear experimental evidence of the onset of size-effect in patterned GNRs; it is shown that for W<60 nm, carrier mobility in GNRs is limited by edge-scattering.

Abstract: The effect of five mercury compounds (HgS, HgO, CH3HgCl, C8H8O2Hg) on the growth of development of rice and wheat and their accumution in crops have been studied in this experiment. Facile Solid-State Synthesis Route to Metal Nitride Nanoparticles

Abstract: By a facile and efficient solid-state reaction route using an organic reagent cyanamide (CN2H2) as a precursor with another one being metal oxides, we successfully synthesized seven technologically important metal nitrides including cubic VN, CrN, NbN, hexagonal GaN, AIN, BN, and WN at moderate temperatures. The experimental results show that cyanamide (CN2H2) is a powerfully reducing and nitridizing reagent and the metal oxides are completely converted into the corresponding nitride nanoparticles at lower temperatures than that reported in the conventional methods. It is found that CN2H2 can exhibit some interesting condensation processes, and the final products, highly active carbon nitride species, play a crucial role in the reducing and nitridizing processes.
