Forecast of Power Generation for Grid-Connected Photo-voltaic System Based on Grey Theory and Verification Model  [PDF]

Abstract: Being photovoltaic power generation affected by radiation strength, wind speed, clouds cover and environment temperature, the generating in each moment is fluctuating. The operational characteristics of grid-connected PV systems are coincided with gray theory application conditions. A gray theory model has been applied in short-term forecast of grid-connected photovoltaic system. The verification model of the probability of small error will help to check the accuracy of the gray forecast results. The calculated result shows that the  model accuracy has been greatly enhanced.
A Computational Study of the Gas-Solid Suspension Flow through a Supersonic Nozzle  [PDF]

Abstract: The present study focuses on numerical simulation of the gas-solid suspension flow in a supersonic nozzle. The Euler- Lagrange approach using a Discrete Phase Model (DPM) has been used to solve the compressible Navier-Stokes equa- tions. A fully implicit finite volume scheme has been employed to discretize the governing equations. Based upon the present CFD results, the particle loading effect on gas-solid suspension flow was investigated. The results show that the presence of particles has a big influence on the gas phase behavior. The structure of shock train, the separation point, and the vortex of the backflow are all related to particle loading. As the particle loading increases the flow characteris- tics behave differently such as 1) the strength of shock train decreases, 2) the separation point moves toward the nozzle exit, 3) the number and strength of vortex increase, 4) the strength of first shock also increases while the other pseudo shocks decreases. The change of gas flow behavior in turn affects the particle distribution. The particles are concen- trated at the shear layers separated from the upper wall surface.
Computational Analysis of Mixing Guide Vane Effects on Performance of the Supersonic Ejector-Diffuser System  [PDF]

Abstract: The flow field in the ejector-diffuser system and its optimal operation condition are hardly complicated due to the complicated turbulent mixing, compressibility effects and even flow unsteadiness which are generated inside the ejector- diffuser system. This paper aims at the improvement in ejector-diffuser system by focusing attention on entrainment ratio and pressure recovery. Several mixing guide vanes were installed at the inlet of the secondary stream for the purpose of the performance improvement of the ejector system. A Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method based on Fluent has been applied to simulate the supersonic flows and shock waves inside the ejector. A finite volume scheme and density-based solver with coupled scheme were applied in the computational process. Standard k-ω turbulent model, implicit formulations were used considering the accuracy and stability. Previous experimental results showed that more flow vortexes were generated and more vertical flow was introduced into the stream under a mixing guide vane influence. Besides these effects on the secondary stream, the mixing guide vane effects on the shock system of the primary stream were also investigated in this paper. Optimal analysis results of the mixing guide vane effects were also carried out in detail in terms of the positions, lengths and numbers to achieve the best operation condition. The comparison of ejector performance with and without the mixing guide vane was obtained. The ejector-diffuser system performance is discussed in terms of the entrainment ratio, pressure recovery as well as total pressure loss.

Effect of Inlet Geometry on Fan Performance and Flow Field in a Half-Ducted Propeller Fan

Abstract: In order to clarify the effect of rotor inlet geometry of half-ducted propeller fan on performance and velocity fields at rotor outlet, the experimental investigation was carried out using a hotwire anemometer. Three types of inlet geometry were tested. The first type is the one that the rotor blade tip is fully covered by a casing. The second is that the front one-third part of blade tip is opened and the rest is covered. The third is that the front two-thirds are opened and the rest is covered. Fan test and internal flow measurement at rotor outlet were conducted about three types of inlet geometry. At the internal flow measurement, a single slant hotwire probe was used and a periodical multisampling technique was adopted to obtain the three-dimensional velocity distributions. From the results of fan test, the pressure-rise characteristic drops at high flowrate region and the stall point shifts to high flowrate region, when the opened area of blade tip increases. From the results of velocity distributions at rotor outlet, the region with high axial velocity moves to radial inwards, the circumferential velocity near blade tip becomes high, and the flow field turns to radial outward, when the opened area increases. 1. Introduction A lot of axial fans, which are small size and low pressure rise, are used in our daily life. Some common examples are a room ventilation fan, a radiator fan in car engine room, a cooling fan of outdoor unit of a room air conditioner, a power unit cooling fan of personal computer, and so on. They are classified into several types using the relationship of relative location between rotor blade raw and outer casing. The authors call these classified types as follows: they are ducted type, half-ducted type, semiopen type, and open type, as shown in Figure 1. The semiopen type fan, which is test fan type, has the outer casing only rear part of rotor blade tip region. In cases of semiopen type fan, inflow direction is axial and radial, that is, a part of blade tip works as blade leading edge. This inflow pattern causes complex flow at rotor inlet. A Survey of Diagnosis and Treatment of Pet Canine Parvovirus Disease in China

Abstract: The aim of the survey was to investigate epidemiology, diagnosis and therapy situations of pet Canine Parvovirus (CPV) disease in China and to provide data for further anti-CPV drug development. Questionnaire survey was carried out in 30 veterinary clinics in Beijing, Xi an, Zhengzhou, Tianjin and Hanzhong in December, 2009. The proportions of CPV dogs in all clinic treated dogs were 15.64, 19.37 and 20.51% in 2007, 2008 and 2009, respectively with an increasing tendency. About 32.00% CPV positive dogs were vaccinated. Most of the unvaccinated dogs were puppies. Imported vaccine produces were used in 93.33% clinics and homegrown vaccines in 33.33% clinics (some clinics used both vaccines included). The CPV antigen test kits made in Korea were used in 96.67% clinics. As for the treatment, the average duration was 5.5 days and 90.00% clinics used CPV Monoclonal Antibody (McAb) while 42.70% of the total payment was expended in CPV McAb. The CPV McAbs were usually combined used with other drugs in treatment. Therefore, it was hard to evaluate the McAb drug effect. The McAb products are the main sources for CPV diagnosis and treatment. Information of CPV treatment is inadequate in China therefore, more surveys, technologies and produces should be developed in CPV diagnosis and therapy.
Prunus pananensis (Rosaceae), a New Species from Pan'an of Central Zhejiang, China

Abstract: Prunus pananensis Z. L. Chen, W. J. Chen & X. F. Jin, a new species of Rosaceae from central Zhejiang, China is described and illustrated. Micromorphological characters of the indumentum on young shoots, leaves, petioles and peduncles, including scanning electron microscope [SEM] images, are provided. This new species is morphologically similar to P. schneiderianae Koehne in having its young shoots, petioles and pedicels all densely villose, but differs in having bracts persistent, styles glabrous, stipules 8–9 mm long, stamens 28–30 of per flower, and drupes glabrous. The new species is also similar to P. discoidea (Yü & C. L. Li) Yü & C. L. Li ex Z. Wei & Y. B. Chang in having 2 or 3 flowers in an umbellate inflorescence, and bracts persistent and marginally glandular, but it differs in having young shoots and petioles densely covered with yellowish-brown villose trichomes; leaves rounded or slightly cordate at base, the mid-ribs and lateral veins abaxially densely covered with yellowish-brown villose trichomes; and hypanthium ca. 3 mm long, shorter than sepals. The atpB-rbcL and trnL-F intergenic chloroplast spacers are selected for identification of the new and its similar species.
