Allocating Collaborative Profit in Less-than-Truckload Carrier Alliance  [PDF]

Abstract: International Financial Crisis has made the less-than-truckload (LTL) industry face with severe challenges of survival and development. More and more small and medium-sized LTL carriers choose to collaborate as the potential savings are large, often in the range 5–15%. A key question is how to distribute profits/savings among the participants. Since every LTL carriers are guided by their own self-interests and their contributions to the collaboration are quite different, the proposed allocation method should be a collectively and individually desirable solution. In this paper, we firstly analyze the profit opportunities from collaboration and present mechanisms to realize these benefits by two illustrative examples. Based on the cooperative game theory, we formulate the LTL collaboration game and discuss the well-known profit allocation concepts including Proportional Allocation, Shapley value and Nucleolus. We then propose a new al-location method named Weighted Relative Savings Model (WRSM) which is in the core and minimizes the maximum difference between weighted relative savings among the participants. Simulation result for real-life instances shows the effectiveness of WRSM.

However, the existence of this absolute space has been questioned by the academic circles. In order to defend its theoretical foundation, Newton established a famous bucket experiment to prove the existence of absolute space. But his experiment was also questioned, and the experiment is also divided into different opinions. This paper hopes to find the answer to the question from Kantian perspective.

Abstract: Ranked-Set Sampling(RSS) is a sampling method when a set of sampling units drawn from the population can be ranked by certain means rather cheaply without the actual measurement of the variable of interest which is costlyand/or time consuming. This paper is concerned with the consistency and asymptotic normality on the RSS M-estimates and approximation to its distribution by randomly weighted bootstrap.

Abstract: This paper studies the quasi-likelihood equation $\sum\limits_{i=1}^{n}x_i(y_i-\mu(x_i^{'}\beta))=0.$ Under certain conditions , we obtain the asymptotic normality of the quasi-maximum likelihood estimate $\widehat{\beta}_n$. Furthermore, we obtain an asymptotic normality result of $\beta_0$, which can be used in the practical statistical inference.

Abstract: Electropulsing induced phase transformation and crystal orientation change and their effects on electrical conductivity, THz reflection and surface roughness of thin-films of Al2O3 (2 wt%) doped ZnO were studied using XRD, SEM, AFM and Thz spectroscopy techniques. AZO-2 thin-films showed an effective response in THz spectroscopy under electropulsing. Electropulsing induced circular preferred crystal orientation changes and phase transformations were observed. The preferred crystal orientation changes accompanying decrease in stress and the secondary phase precipitation favored enhancing conductivity and THz reflection of the AZO-2 thin-films. After adequate electropulsing, both THz reflection and electrical conductivity of the thin-films were enhanced by 22.8% and 6.8%, respectively; meanwhile surface roughness reduced. The property responses of electropulsing are discussed from point view of microstructural change and dislocation dynamics.
The Researches on Calculating Method of Insurance Premium of Residential Mortgage Loan

Abstract: As an effective means to stir up residential consumption, residential mortgage loan insurance is developing very quickly in recent years. However, there are still some inevitable risks, how to calculate insurance rate has been a magnitude task for insurance companies. Based on discrimination between residential mortgage loan insurance and other insurances, the thesis analyze insurance structures of United States, we find that insurance institute in USA can often establish its corresponding insurance structure (include insurance payment mode, number of insurance rate, disposal method when pre-payoff) according to clients’ specific circs (such as sum of loan, term of loan, loan to value), so the controlling of risk of regional mortgage loan insurance is become easy, the rights and interests of insurance institute can be well protected. On the contrary, most insurance companies in China adopt single insurance structure, they require all clients must pay insurance by means of once-payoff method, and they will not send back insurance when the client pre-payoff. This method have some problems, on the one hand it is not benefit to controlling risk of insurance business, on the other hand, it is not benefit to exploit market because it cannot make clients to choice appropriate insurance project according to their specific circs. So insurance structure of regional mortgage loan in China will transit from singularity to diversity in the future. It means that insurance payment mode will include 2 types: once-payoff and annual payment; when borrower want to pre-payoff it can be decided into 2 types: insurance sending back and not sending back, so we will have 4 kinds of insurance structures. on the basis of it, we present new insurance structures which suit for china, and then present a new calculating method which can calculate insurance premium in different insurance structures by using expected return equals the expected loss. Quantum information and many body physics with cold atoms

Abstract: We review our recent theoretical advances in quantum information and many body physics with cold atoms in various external potential, such as harmonic potential, kagome optical lattice, triangular optical lattice, and honeycomb lattice. The many body physics of cold atom in harmonic potential is investigated in the frame of mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Then the quantum phase transition and strongly correlated effect of cold atoms in triangular optical lattice, and the interacting Dirac fermions on honeycomb lattice, are investigated by using cluster dynamical mean-field theory and continuous time quantum Monte Carlo method. We also study the quantum spin Hall effect in the kagome optical lattice.
