Study on the Improvement of Fresh Electricity Suppliers Cold Chain Logistics Service Quality  [PDF]

Abstract:
Improvement of service quality in cold chain logistics of fresh electricity suppliers has great significance to reduce logistics costs, get access to vast number of customer groups and enhance core competitiveness. This paper uses SIPOC (Suppliers, Input, Process, Output, Customers) model to draw the fresh electricity suppliers cold chain logistics service flow chart, by using the fishbone diagram to analyze the influential factors based on the mastery of fresh electricity suppliers cold chain logistics service flow. Finally, this paper puts forward 6 measures to improve the fresh electricity suppliers cold chain logistics service quality: to strengthen staff training and improve service awareness; to improve logistics equipment and develop cold chain technology; to improve the material supply and meet customer demand; to optimize the distribution route and develop the intelligent logistics; to carry out lean management and reduce logistics cost; to make cold chain logistics service quality management system and strengthen quality control and supervision.

Abstract: At present, the business model innovation has become the mainstream of enterprise innovation; logistics enterprises must carry out the business model innovation in the face of environment change. Firstly, this paper analyzes the evolution and connotation of business model and lays theoretical foundation. Secondly, it analyzes the influence of environmental change on the logistics enterprises business model. Finally, it puts forward 5 kinds of logistics enterprise business model innovation: cross-border business model, mutually beneficial business model, open business model, supply chain integration services business model and multiple platform business model. These provide a reference for the logistics enterprises to carry out the business model innovation.
Effects of life-history components on population dynamics of the rare endangered plant Davidia involucrata  [PDF]

Abstract:

In order to estimate the most effect stage and process on population growth and effective conserve the rare endangered plant Davidia involucrata, we analyzed the dynamics and the contributions of life-history components on population dynamics based on Lefkovitch matrix model and sensitivity analysis. The life cycle of Davidia involucrata was divided into six stages (seed, seedling, juvenile, immature, early adult and late adult) based on the species characteristics and published literature data, the survival rates in each life-history stage were simulated using a static life table, and the fecundity of each stage was determined according to sample information. The results showed that the structure of the observed population was not ideal, and the numbers of seedlings and coppice shoots was similar. The population growth rate was influenced largely by individual growth process, and asexual reproduction made a larger contribution to population growth than sexual reproduction. However, sexual reproduction was more important than asexual reproduction, because most asexual reproducing individuals (the coppice shoots) were derived mainly from human destruction (e.g. felling trees). The most important stage was stage V (late adult), associated with seed production and germination. Therefore, conservation of Davidia involucrata populations should focus on stage V and sexual reproduction, in order to improve the seed production and germination rate, and to promote population stability and development.

Abstract:

Davidia involucrata is a rare endangered species belonging to the paleo-tropical flora of the Tertiary period, endemic to China, and has an important protection and ornamental value. However, the natural populations and distribution areas of this ancient plant have been decreased sharply, because it suffers much disturbance from human activity in many regions. In this paper, data on Davidia involucrata forest in its most natural distribution areas were collected; the percentages of geographical areal types of seed-plant genera (Sensu Wu 1991) were summed; the community types were summarized using Braun-Blanquet methodology; and the geographical differentiation among communities was analyzed by detrended canonical correspondence analysis. The analysis of geographical types shows that temperate species are dominant and that tropical species also make up a high percentage. This indicates that Davidia involucrata forest is mainly temperate vegetation. In total, 16 communities were recognized by classification, and these communities were usually dominated by deciduous broad-leaved species, sometimes mixed with some evergreen species. The shrub layer of Davidia involucrata forest is generally occupied by bamboos. The geographical patterns among the communities are influenced mainly by temperature and moisture availability, and the forest is most likely to grow in warm, humid habitats.

Abstract: As the development of mobile communications and wireless networking technology and people's increasing demand for wireless location services, positioning services are more and more important and become the focus of research. However, the most common technology which supports outdoor positioning services is global positioning system (GPS), but GPS has been subjected to some restrictions in the complex environment. WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) has matured gradually in recent years, so positioning technique based on Wi-Fi can assist GPS. In this paper, we describe two positioning techniques based on WLAN: Triangulation and fingerprinting. Additionally, the method which associated with speech recognition and spatial data model is presented. Ultimately, the experimental result is encouraging and indicates that the proposed approach is effective.

Abstract: Obesity is a fast-growing global health crisis and the epidemic is about to get worse. Environment has been shown to influence physical activity and people’s body weight. Utilizing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2004-2010 waves of the continuous obesity data, this study conducted longitudinal analyses to examine neighborhood built environment and obesity risk controlling for the effects of socio-demographic characteristics. This study presents a comprehensive effort to understand the relationship between the environment and physical inactivity and obesity across the entire contiguous US. When constructing measures of the built environment, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were used to calculate street connectivity, walk score and food environment. In addition to the built environment, the natural environment, which was represented by the annual number of extreme weather events from 2004-2010, was taken into account in explaining variation of physical inactivity and obesity across the contiguous US. Results show that higher street connectivity and walk score are related to lower physical inactivity and obesity rates, while the ratio of fast-food restaurants and number of extreme weather events are positively related to physical inactivity and obesity. The results are believed to provide policy-makers and planners with useful insights into the dynamics between the environment and obesity epidemic. Further, the significant effects of extreme weather invite more studies to investigate the relationship between the natural environment and obesity.

Abstract:

Chronic exposed to high arsenic via drinking water is worldwide public health problem. A large number of epidemiological studies showed that exposed to arsenic cause the human body skin lesions and also induce cancer, cardiovascular and other kind of diseases. So arsenism not only affect the person’s work capability and life quality but also result in economic losses and mental suffering. How to prevent and control the effects of high arsenic? What intervention is more important and necessary for arsenism? How to scientifically assess the interventions effect of short-term and long-term? Through a systematic follow-up investigation in different high arsenic regions in Inner Mongolia, the environmental arsenic and human body internal arsenic exposure were analyzed, the clinical characteristics and signs of arsenism patients were examined. We established the evaluation system of intervention and control measures for population exposed to high arsenic. This evaluation system and control measures included government and exposed population. For government, change water supply and keep it work well and health education is very important. For exposed population, improving the diet and treating the symptoms or signs related to arsenic is more necessary. Arsenic in human body such as nail or urine sample arsenic must be reduced to normal value and this index show that the subject if still or not expose to high arsenic.
