American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2015.55026
Abstract: This paper described the second part of my PhD research project where African Iron and Steel Market was investigated to support the decision of the entry of Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) into African Market. The data used are the same as previous study, observations of macroeconomic variables, such as GDP per capita, the index of consumer prices, import iron, the real effective exchange rate, the number of urban population, imports and exports total made on 19 African countries for a period that spans from 2008 to 2012. The countries concerned are: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, and Zambia. The empirical study in this paper is divided into two parts: the first part is preliminary screening and the second part is the final selection statistical scoring model. In the first part, the preliminary screening was made by ranking the panel data by political stability variable as it was the main decision criteria of WISCO’s international market selection into the African Iron and Steel Market. We sorted our 19 Africa countries for our study by political stability and absence of violence/terrorism percentile value 2013 from the largest to smallest and selected the first 10th rank. The 10 countries that were selected to the next step of our study from our preliminary screening were: Mauritius, Seychelles, Zambia, South Africa, Senegal, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Togo and Morocco. In the second part of the empirical findings, we analyzed African Iron and Steel Market following the steps of our final selection statistical inverse coefficient of variation scoring model. We started by analyzing statistical inverse coefficient of variation of every variable in the demand side, in supply side, and then, we analyzed the final score made by every country and suggested a final selection. Our analysis of the final score concluded that the five countries that would be suggested to Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) were: first, Togo with a final score of 70.20, second, Tanzania with a final score of 18.63, third, Morocco with a final score of 15.58, fourth, Senegal with a final score of 14.57, and fifth, Mozambique with a final score of 13.68. WISCO then can choose from these five suggested countries to enter into African Market.

Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.43008

Rivers which are important objects in real world need be appropriately described in Geographic Information System to be conveniently inquired and detailed analyzed for human being. Many spatial models were proposed in the past, but spatial models with regard to river channel plan- forms (RCPs) are lesser-known. This work proposes spatial models of river channel planforms (SMRCPs) based on the properties of river channel planforms in the real world and the spatial relation theory. We proposed the segment conditions based on RCPs properties in Geographic Information System to describe rivers in the real world by SMRCPs in detail.

Progress on Research for the Treatment of HIV/AIDS with Traditional Chinese Medicine in China  [PDF]
Jian Wang, Bi Yan Liang
World Journal of AIDS (WJA) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/wja.2011.13016
Abstract: The mortality rate associated with HIV/AIDS has decreased dramatically after highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). However, issues such as viral reservoirs, drug resistance and side effects have led to a significant crisis in the management of HIV/AIDS. It has become evident that HAART does not offer a complete solution to the problem. Therefore, additional and alternative therapeutic strategies urgently need to be explored. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the mainstays of complementary and alternative medicine, and its use has aroused increasing attention. This paper reviews the recent progress in the use of TCM, from single herbs, herbal ingredients, compound Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and medical care, for the treatment of HIV/AIDS in China. We also review evaluation systems that assess the efficacy of TCM.

American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2014.49051
Abstract: Adoption of E-Commerce and Electronic Supply Chain Management (E-SCM) by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has developed a tremendous performance in business process. SMEs in Pakistan are trying to enhance their competences by adopting a new technology to enter into the global market. The survey was aimed to investigate the current status and future direction of the adoption and benefits of E-Commerce and E-SCM by small and medium enterprises in Pakistan. A mailed questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data from 210 SMEs as samples located in Karachi, Gujranwala and Faisalabad, Pakistan. The results suggest that E-Commerce and E-SCM adoption has a significant, positive influence on SMEs, who have significantly higher average sales growth rate, on-time order management and delivery process than non-adopters. The findings of this study can be useful for SMEs in general as a means of understanding how E-Commerce and E-SCM adoption positively affects the firm’s performance.
A Target Tracking Algorithm Based on Improved Camshift and UKF  [PDF]
Zouguo Yan, Weiguo Liang, Haidong lv
Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2014.713094
Abstract: A tracking algorithm based on improved Camshift and UKF is proposed in this paper to deal with the problems which exist in traditional Camshift algorithm, such as artificial orientation and tracking failure under color interference as well as object’s changed illumination occlusion. Meanwhile, in order to solve the sheltered problem, the UKF is combined with improved Camshift algorithm to predict the position of the target effectively. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can avoid the interference of the background color and solve the sheltered problem of the object, so that achieving a precise and timely tracking of moving objects. Also it has better robustness to color noises and occlusion when the object’s scale changes and deformation occurs.

Shahzad Ahmad Khan, Yan Liang, Sumaira Shahzad
Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2015.83032
Abstract: Online stores (e-stores) are growing in China. Consumers perceive some factors affecting their satisfaction to re-purchase intention in e-stores. This study investigates the perceived factors affecting customer satisfaction to re-purchase intention in e-stores. The satisfaction toward the online stores channel environment depends on the customer’s perception and also online consumer experiences (OCEs) of the active online shopping stores. From a questionnaire survey, 302 usable data are obtained and hypotheses are tested using multiple regression analysis. The analysis suggests that seven constructs—price, convenience, product information, return policy, financial risk, product risk and delivery risk—are significant with customer satisfaction to re-purchase in e-stores. This study emphasizes that the importance of customer satisfaction provides more benefits and less risk to re-purchase in e-stores. The finding of this study will help e-store’s managers/ owners to understand customer’s perceptions in online shopping stores and their satisfaction.

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/am.2015.69144
Abstract: Utilizing principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis, the standardization, dimension-reduction and de-correlation of multiple evaluation index system for fruit and vegetable nutrition are performed to assign principal component factor based on cluster analysis of loading matrix and combining with actual meaning and evaluation direction of index categories. To evaluate the richness of its nutrition according to the score of nutrition of fruit and vegetable, finally equivalent replacement suggestions are given in different seasons of vegetables & fruits according to the result of clustering. Studies show that principal component cluster method can not only carry on the reasonable classification of multivariate data effectively, but also make reasonable evaluation on the sample object, and provide powerful basis for evaluation of fruits and vegetables’ nutrition.
