Chen Yan
Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2016.91005
Abstract: Development of service industry and service trade plays an important role in the transition of economic structure of our country. Based on the CEPA, this paper uses service trade data of Hong Kong and its five principal trade partners with 48 sub-industries between the year of 1998 and 2013 to carry out descriptive statistical research and difference-in-difference empirical analysis about the service trade export from Hong Kong to Mainland China after implementing CEPA. Research results show: firstly, CEPA greatly promotes the level of service trade between Mainland China and Hong Kong and the amount of service trade exports from Hong Kong to Mainland China averagely increases by 10.7 - 10.8 billion Hong Kong dollars; secondly, the service trade from Hong Kong to Mainland China presents structural imbalance, and traditional service industries like tourism and transportation have prominent promotion while modern service industries like finance and commerce have little promotion. Aiming at these conclusions mentioned above, this paper puts forward some suggestions in the aspect of magnifying the effect of CEPA, adjusting service trade structure and further putting the policies of CEPA into practice.
Estimation of Default Risk Based on KMV Model—An Empirical Study for Chinese Real Estate Companies  [PDF]
Yan Chen, Guanglei Chu
Journal of Financial Risk Management (JFRM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jfrm.2014.32005

In this paper, we analyze the default risk of Chinese real estate companies with KMV model and time-varying copula. We collected the data of the listed real estate companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen Exchanges from 2007 to 2012 to calculate the default distance and correlations. Experiments results show that the default risk increases during the financial crisis. Moreover, results also indicate the default risk aggregation. The difference of default risk between the large size and small size companies is also examined in this research. Due to the high asset liability ratio, the large size companies face higher default risk than the small size companies. Finally, time-varying copula shows that the correlation between different-sized companies fluctuates severely during the financial crisis and then goes smoothly after the crisis.

The Culture Turn in Translation Studies  [PDF]
Chen Yan, Jingjing Huang
Open Journal of Modern Linguistics (OJML) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojml.2014.44041
Abstract: The culture turn of translation studies was initially put forward by Bassnett and Lefevere (1990) cultural approach in 1990. As important representatives of cultural approach in translation studies, Bassnett and Lefevere attached great importance to the role of culture in translation, the social background, the influence that cultural tradition imposed on translation, the subjectivity of translators and researching shift from linguistic to culture, thus improving the literariness of translated texts. Such method of study expanded the scope of translation studies enormously, opened a new field of study, thus it enhanced a further and more comprehensive development of translation studies. This paper will present a brief introduction of the history of translation studies, analyzing the social causes of culture turn and especially discuss the series shifts brought by culture turn in status of translated texts and translators, and the methods of translation analysis. In the end, some personal viewpoints will be showed about the culture turn in translation studies.
Automatic Modification of Local Drilling Holes via Double Pre-Assembly Holes  [PDF]
Qiubai Yan, Wenliang Chen
World Journal of Engineering and Technology (WJET) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/wjet.2015.33C028

Manufacturing accuracy, especially position accuracy of fastener holes, directly affects service life and security of aircraft. The traditional modification has poor robustness, while the modification based on laser tracker costs too much. To improve the relative position accuracy of aircraft assembly drilling, and ensure the hole-edge distance requirement, a method was presented to modify the coordinates of drilling holes. Based on online inspecting two positions of pre-assembly holes and their theoretical coordinates, the spatial coordinate transformation matrix of modification could be calculated. Thus the straight drilling holes could be modified. The method improves relative position accuracy of drilling on simple structure effectively. And it reduces the requirement of absolute position accuracy and the cost of position modification. And the process technician also can use this method to decide the position accuracy of different pre-assembly holes based on the accuracy requirement of assembly holes.

Creative Education (CE) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2018.913142
Abstract: Totem, as the national symbol, reflects a nation’s culture, spirit and traditional values. This paper, basing on a lot of reading on Sino-US cultural differences, will explore the Sino-US cultural differences from a totally new way, the different characteristics of the totems of the two countries—the Chinese dragon and the American Eagle, and the different values, ways of thinking and cultural traditions shown?by their totems respectively. This paper not only reveals the cultural differences between the two countries, more importantly, from the outside phenomenon to the inside nature, it finds out the underlying causes of these differences through comparative analysis. Hoping to enhance the mutual understanding between the two peoples and show the world that the Chinese people has always been a peace-loving nation since ancient time under the current situation that the Western countries strongly play up the theory of?China threat.

A Humanoid Robot Gait Planning and Its Stability Validation  [PDF]
Jian Zeng, Haibo Chen, Yan Yin, Yan Yin
Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2014.211009

Gait planning based on linear inverted pendulum (LIPM) on structured road surface can be quickly generated because of the simple model and definite physical meaning. However, over-simplifi- cation of the model and discontents of zero velocity and acceleration boundary conditions when robot starts and stops walking lead to obvious difference between the model and the real robot. In this paper, parameterized gait is planned and trajectories’ smoothness of each joint angle and centroid are ensured using the 3-D LIPM theory. Static walking method is used to satisfy zero velocity and acceleration boundary conditions. Besides, a multi-link model is built to validate the stability. Simulation experiments show that: despite of some deviation from the theoretical solution, the actual zero-moment point (ZMP) is still within the support polygon, and the robot walks steadily. In consequence, the rationality and validity of model simplification of LIPM is demonstrated.
