Abstract: 無 Whereas Reproduction Rights Organization (RRO) has well developed abroad, there is none of them but only Music Right Organization in Taiwan so far. The Two core concepts of PRO-licensing and pay-per-use, are inevitable trends in the world. With the practice and operation of the RRO, the purpose of protecting copyright is thus down to the ground. This paper refers to the western experience to discuss licensing and distributing of remuneration, which are two of the main duties of RRO, so as to benefit the establishing and operation of RRO in Taiwan.
Environmental Multifunctionality of Paddy Fields in Taiwan- A Conjunction Evaluation Method of Contingent Valuation Method and Analytic Network Procedures

Abstract: This study uses the benefit and value assessment method, in conjunction with a Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and Analytic Network Procedures (ANP), through the use of questionnaires, to assess the preference structure and relative weight scales that are assigned to the multifunctionality function and production output benefits that are derived from paddy fields. The monetary benefits associated with the multifunctionality of paddy fields are as below:1) Benefits from production are NT$20.97 (NT$1 about US$0.03385) (US$0.71), from 1kg of rice, 2) Benefits to food safety and reliance are NT$36.38 (US$1.23), from 1kg of rice, 3) Benefits to cultural heritage and community development are NT$13.51 (US$0.46), from 1kg of rice, 4) Benefits to recreation and landscape are NT$12.34(US$0.42), from 1kg of rice, and 5) Benefits to environmental conservation are NT$25.4(US$0.86), from 1kg of rice. The ratio of nonmarket/rice production is 4.18. The monetary benefits constitute the gross domestic product (GDP), for rice production. These benefits from all five categories constitute the green gross domestic product (Green GDP), for rice production. This study calculated the Green GDP, for rice production, which included the market price of rice production and the non-market value of the multifunctionality of paddy fields, which generated NT$158 billion (US$5.3483 billion), in 2008. The ratio of rice production output to real production output, as defined by this study, obtained a result close to 1(0.97), showing that the benefit assessment for market goods and non-market goods, in conjunction with ANP and CVM, is a reliable assessment method, which should be promoted in the future.

Abstract: In the title compound, C18H24O4S, the chiral bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane group is not symmetrical due to the influence of the substituents. The angle between the three-atom bridge plane and the four-atom planes of the boat-shaped six-membered ring are 55.07 (19) and 56.24 (19)°. The bridgehead angle is 92.75 (17)°.

Time Trend of Multiple Myeloma and Associated Secondary Primary Malignancies in Asian Patients: A Taiwan Population–Based Study

Abstract: Studies involving second malignancies in patients with multiple myeloma are limited for the Asian population. Using data from population-based insurance claims, we assessed the risk of developing secondary malignancies after multiple myeloma, in particular hematologic malignancies. A retrospective cohort study was conducted in 3970 patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma from the registry of catastrophic illnesses between 1997 and 2009. A total of 15880 subjects without multiple myeloma were randomly selected as comparisons from the insured population, frequency-matched based on gender, age, and the date of diagnosis. The incidence of secondary malignancies was ascertained through cross-referencing with the National Cancer Registry System. The Cox proportional hazards model was used for analyses. The incidence of multiple myeloma in the insured population increased annually. The overall incidence of secondary malignancy was lower in the multiple myeloma cohort than in the comparison cohort (93.6 vs. 104.5 per 10,000 person-years, IRR = 0.90, 95% CI = 0.78–1.04). The incidence of hematologic malignancies was 11-fold greater for multiple myeloma patients (47.2 vs. 4.09 per 10,000 person-years) with an adjusted HR of 13.0 (95% CI = 7.79–21.6) compared with the comparison cohort. The relative risk of secondary malignancy was also strong for myeloid leukemia (21.2 vs. 1.36 per 10,000 person-years). Gender- and age-specific analysis for secondary hematologic malignancies showed that males and patients with multiple myeloma <60 years of age had a higher risk of secondary malignancy than females and patients with multiple myeloma >60 years of age. In conclusion, patients with multiple myeloma, especially younger patients, are at a high risk of hematologic malignancies.

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C7H4FO2)2(C5H6N2)2] or [Zn(fa)2(2-pa)2] (Hfa is 2-fluorobenzoic acid and 2-pa = pyridin-2-amine), the asymmetric unit contains one ZnII cation, two fa ligands and two 2-pa ligands, wherein the ZnII displays a distorted tetrahedral geometry, being surrounded by two monodentate fa ligands with Zn—O distances of 1.962 (2) and 1.976 (3) , and by two 2-pa ligands with distances involving pyridyl N atoms of 2.069 (2) and 2.056 (2) . The F atoms of the fa ligands are equally disordered over two sites, viz. the 2- and 6-positions of fa. The mononuclear complex molecules are joined by N—H...O and N—H...F hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional layer, which is further constructed into a three-dimensional supramolecular network by weak C—H...F interactions and effective π–π stacking [centroid-centroid separation of 3.74 (3) ] between the interlayer aromatic rings and adjacent heterocycles.
