Nostalgia Promoting Pro-Social Behavior and Its Psychological Mechanism  [PDF]

Abstract: Nostalgia is a kind of socio-emotional that refers to personal sentimentality caused by recalling objects, people, places, experiences or feelings from the past. Studies have found nostalgia has a positive effect on the mental health and can also promote pro-social behavior of individuals. This paper reviews the promoting effect of nostalgia on the altruism, commonweal and social rule and relational pro-social behaviors. Moreover, the author puts forward possible psychological mechanisms and theoretical explanations. Future studies should further investigate the relevant psychological mechanism and moderated effects of individual differences, the study on the refinement of the nostalgia and pro-social behavior researches.

Abstract: The advent of the age of Information shifts the environment we live in from off-line to on-line. The prospect of Collective Intelligence (CI) is promising. Based on this background, the aim of this paper is to discover the emergence mechanism and influence factors of CI in knowledge communities using the method of quantitative and qualitative analysis. On the basis of the previous research work, our model theorizes that the two dimensions of social network (i.e., interactive network structure and participant’s characteristics) affect two references of effectiveness (i.e. group knowledge production and participation of group decision). And this hypothetical model is validated with simulation data from “Zhihu” community. Our model has been useful since it offers some inspirations and directions to promote the level of CI in knowledge communities.
Assessing the Role of Individual Variables in Determining the Research and Development Engineers’ Creativity - A Study in Electrical and Electronics Industry  [PDF]

Abstract:

This study examined the direct effect of individual variables (self-esteem, creative self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation) on the Research and Development (R&D) engineers’ creativity. The data were analysed based on questionnaires returned by 130 R&D engineers attached to fifteen Electrical and Electronic (E&E) firms with R&D department in Penang, Malaysia. The convenience sampling method was employed in getting the samples. The results posited that all individual variables were positively related to R&D engineers’ creativity. The results also reported that there is no significant difference in R&D engineers’ creativity between contract employment type and permanent employment type. The theoretical and practical implications of the study as well as suggestion for future studies were also discussed.

Abstract: Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a common acute abdomen, and the incidence of EP has increased in recent years. The risk factors of EP changed significantly nowadays, and its clinical symptoms have become diversified. The train of thought and means for diagnosis of EP have also broadened and improved obviously, and the therapeutic methods tend towards individualization. The new techniques and drugs are developed unceasingly, and the prognosis and outcome of EP have also improved compared with the traditional level. The present paper would make a general review on the outline and progress of diagnosis and treatment of ectopic pregnancy.
Effect of the Cladding Layer Cavity on the Efficiency of 650 nm Resonant Cavity Light Emitting Diodes  [PDF]

Abstract:

High efficiency 650 nm resonant cavity light emitting diodes (RCLEDs) with a cladding layer cavity are reported. The epitaxial structure is grown with a metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system. Al 0.5Ga 0.5 As/Al As is used for the distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs), and GaInP/AlGaInP multiple-quantum wells for the active region. Two RCLED samples have been fabricated, one with a cladding layer cavity and the other without. Experimental results show that the cladding layer cavity can improve the internal quantum efficiency effectively, so that an external quantum efficiency of 7.4% at 20 mA is reached. Meanwhile, the sample with cladding layer cavity also shows a spectral stability as the injected current changing from 20 mA to 100 mA.

Abstract: The title complex, [Fe2(NCS)4(H2O)6]·6C8H6ClN3, comprises two distorted octahedral iron(II) centers straddling a crystallographic inversion center and bridged by two aqua O atoms to form a quadrilateral core. The aqua O atom of the core is involved in hydrogen bonds with the triazole N atoms of the solvent molecules, generating one-dimensional ladder motifs, and three intermolecular C—H...S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network.

Abstract: In the title compound, {[Ni(C10H8N2)(H2O)4](C12H8O4)}n, the NiII, 4,4′-bipyridyl (bipy) and 3,3′-(p-phenylene)diacrylate (L2 ) moieties are situated on inversion centres. The bipy ligands bridge NiII ions into positively charged polymeric chains along [101]. The NiII atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two bipy ligands and four water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. L2 anions interact with the polymeric chains via O–H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

Abstract: The problem of evaluating the clothing creative design with dual hesitant fuzzy information is the multiple attribute decision making problem. In this paper, we have utilized dual hesitant fuzzy hybrid average (DHFHA) operator to develop the model to solve the multiple attribute decision making problems for evaluating the clothing creative design. Finally, a practical example for evaluating the clothing creative design is given to verify the developed approach. 1. Introduction In the context of innovation-driven reformation and development of fashion industry in China, it becomes the most essential issue to enhance the ability of independent R&D and creative design level for Chinese local fashion brands. In quite a long period, fashion is considered to be determined by fashion designers [1, 2]. However, fashion is hereby considered to be formed according to certain social background, instead of being determined by certain people’s subjective minds. So fashion could be generated by precise analysis from objective factors. Now in the context of fast fashion, fashion design does not merely rely on the designers’ creativity, but all kinds of modern information technology are applied in the process of fashion design [3–5]. According to the characteristics of the fashion data warehouse system, an overall structure composed of fashion data dictionary, fashion data sources, fashion data management, fashion data mining, and the front-end decision support is formed. The proposed concept of Fashion Data Dictionary (FDD), including Fashion Color Data Dictionary, Fashion Material Data Dictionary, Fashion Accessory Data Dictionary, Fashion Pattern Data Dictionary, Fashion Technique Data Dictionary, Fashion Style Data Dictionary, and Fashion Look Data Dictionary, is formed, in order that all kinds of fashion data from different sources are unified in format. Each data dictionary regulates its data type, level, content, and standard presentation [6, 7]. Sources of fashion data extraction are fashion clothing, social background, and art works. Fashion clothing data sources include fashion shows, fashion market, fashion brand advertisement, target consumer, fashion e-shop, and fashion and fabric exhibition. Social background data sources include politics, economy, environment, science and technology, sports, and lifestyle. Art works data sources include TV drama, art, design, music, performance art, and literature [8]. Abstract: In the framework of nonstandard analysis, Bang-He Li and the author defined the product of any two distributions on $R^n$ via their harmonic representations. The product of $\delta (x_{1},..., x_{n})$ and $\delta (x_{1})$ was calculated by Kuribayashi and the author in [LK]. In this paper, the result of [LK] is improved to $$\delta (x_{1},..., x_{n})\circ \delta (x_{1}) =\dfrac{1}{2\pi\rho} \delta (x_{1},..., x_{n}) {mod} {infinitesimals}$$ where $\rho$ is a positive infinitesimal. Moreover two combinatorial identities are obtained as byproducts.

Abstract: We study iterative processes of stochastic approximation for finding fixed points of weakly contractive and nonexpansive operators in Hilbert spaces under the condition that operators are given with random errors. We prove mean square convergence and convergence almost sure (a.s.) of iterative approximations and establish both asymptotic and nonasymptotic estimates of the convergence rate in degenerate and non-degenerate cases. Previously the stochastic approximation algorithms were studied mainly for optimization problems.
