Sánchez Y,Andrés Eloy; Vieira N,Jorge;
Acta Odontológica Venezolana , 2008,
Abstract: it was analized the rpd production in caracas, venezuela, using 382 questionaries in comercial laboratories in local areas. ther results showed failured in delegate ways of private practicioners. the results are the same as other studies. at this time this situation is worst, because some practicioners uses nylon or flexible phrostheses.

Acta Odontológica Venezolana , 2007,
Abstract: abstract. it had been analyzed the influence of how the master cast was sent above the frameworks quality of 120 cases of removable partial dentures, 40 of this cases was sent without master cast preparations, 40 cases with maximum contour line, calibration and tripod registration, and 40 cases with relief preparation, block outs and ledge preparation too.? in the master cast the rated parameters was taken from american academy of prosthodontics for the design of retainer clasps, mayors connectors and prosthesis bases.? in all cases less than 50% of clasps was accepted, when master cast had all preparations ( maximum contour line, calibration and tripod registration) the accepted percentage was greater and 1/3 of this cases was non acceptable. from mayor connectors the acceptable percentage was 85% indifferently of which way that master casts was sent
Sánchez Y.,Andrés Eloy; Vieira N.,Jorge;
Acta Odontológica Venezolana , 2004,
Abstract: the design and biomechanic of the thompson dowel semiprecision intracoronal retainer provides support, stability and retention for removable partial dentures. thompson′s desing allows stress release and indirect retention , also offers versatility for various clinical situations wich makes it the most widely used intracoronal attachment.

Abstract: Resumen. In the master cast the rated parameters was taken from American Academy of Prosthodontics for the design of retainer clasps, mayors connectors and prosthesis bases. Bioethical Questions in Brazilian Scientific Research  [PDF]
Sonia Vieira
International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2014.516130
Abstract:

It is considered here that the ethical behavior of the Brazilian scientific community leaves a lot to be desired. Motives for ethical lapses can be summed up by one only: the haste to grow at any price in order to earn prestige and wealth, setting at naught those who don’t have the political support of the institution. With this intent, many researchers publish whatever they can, neglecting the fact that scientific research should serve the interests of the community—not their own.

Toward to the Journey’s End  [PDF]

Abstract: People become aware of the human life finiteness when they reach middle age. If they are healthy, they believe they will reach old age with white hair. However, in old age, the awareness that the process of dying is slowly adding losses over losses will come. Therefore, we should cultivate dignity in life because we do not know how we will face death: probably with suffering without respectability, as we never imagine it.
Research on Chewing Gum: Questions of Ethics  [PDF]
Sonia Vieira
Open Journal of Philosophy (OJPP) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ojpp.2017.73016
Abstract: Guidelines for clinical research and ethics committees are significant contributions to decision made in science and law. But since research methods need to follow the changes and the development of science, guidelines for clinical research have to be continuously revised. Many innovations are perceived for their intended beneficiaries as benefits. Unfortunately, this is not always true. Therefore two issues should be mandatory in discussions of research ethics committees: 1) What constitutes a harmful intervention? 2) What procedures should be established for obtaining data and evaluating their relevance? These questions are too broad and there are no ethical solutions that can leap off a paper. But an example can be worked on. Dental caries is a public health challenge in any country and chewing gum may have an effect with respect to plaque reduction, at least in a short period of time. But sugar chewing gum cannot be used as a positive control in biomedical researches. However, trials referred herein allocated participants for a sugar chewing gum group. Therefore, the aim of this critical review is to emphasize that such a procedure is an example of a conscious disregard for the consideration which is due to trial participants. Were these desirable researches themselves or they had other purposes?
Disease, Not Death, Is the Real Enemy  [PDF]

Open Journal of Philosophy (OJPP) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ojpp.2018.85039
Abstract: No matter our age or how healthy we are, anyone can be diagnosed with a severe illness or experience a major trauma. Over the years, experts have proposed many ways to help people understand what they’re going through when they receive a shocking diagnosis. Experts want to help and can help, but they will never experience another person’s feelings. Adversity is always a miserable thing. In this article, it is argued that we don’t find any reason or any justice in a serious chronic illness or severe disability.
