Design of Curvature Radius of Finishing Roll for Crimp JCO Formed Welded Pipe  [PDF]

JCO means that the cross-section of steel pipe forms geometric shapes such as J, C and O in turn. The steel pipe blank directly formed by crimp JCO process has flat area along the edge of the pipe blank seam, which affects the quality of final pipe product. It is necessary to eliminate the flat area along the pipe seam by finishing process. In order to meet requirements of finishing process, it is necessary to optimize the roll surface curvature radius of finishing roll. Aiming at the design requirement of finishing roll for straight seam welded pipe forming, the optimum calculation method and result of roll surface curvature radius of finishing roll were obtained by using the theoretical analysis of metal sheet plastic forming. The result was successfully used in actual production.
PLAN: a web platform for automating high-throughput BLAST searches and for managing and mining results

Abstract: Personal BLAST Navigator (PLAN) is a versatile web platform that helps users to carry out various personalized pre- and post-BLAST tasks, including: (1) query and target sequence database management, (2) automated high-throughput BLAST searching, (3) indexing and searching of results, (4) filtering results online, (5) managing results of personal interest in favorite categories, (6) automated sequence annotation (such as NCBI NR and ontology-based annotation). PLAN integrates, by default, the Decypher hardware-based BLAST solution provided by Active Motif Inc. with a greatly improved efficiency over conventional BLAST software. BLAST results are visualized by spreadsheets and graphs and are full-text searchable. BLAST results and sequence annotations can be exported, in part or in full, in various formats including Microsoft Excel and FASTA. Sequences and BLAST results are organized in projects, the data publication levels of which are controlled by the registered project owners. In addition, all analytical functions are provided to public users without registration.PLAN has proved a valuable addition to the community for automated high-throughput BLAST searches, and, more importantly, for knowledge discovery, management and sharing based on sequence alignment results. The PLAN web interface is platform-independent, easily configurable and capable of comprehensive expansion, and user-intuitive. PLAN is freely available to academic users at http://bioinfo.noble.org/plan/ webcite. The source code for local deployment is provided under free license. Interannual variation of East Asian summer monsoon and its impacts on general circulation and precipitation

Abstract: Using NCEP/NCAR reanalysis geopotential height (GHT) and wind at 850 hPa, GHT at 500 hPa, precipitation rate, sea level pressure (SLP) and precipitation observations from more than 600 stations nationwide in June–August from 1951 to 2006, and focusing on the East Asia–West Pacific region (10o–80oN, 70o–180oE), interannual variation of East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) and its correlations with general circulation and precipitation patterns are studied by using statistical diagnostic methods such as 9-point high pass filtering, empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis, composite analysis and other statistical diagnosis, etc. It is concluded as follows: (1) EOF analysis of SLP in the East Asia–West Pacific region shows the existence of the zonal dipole oscillation mode (APD) between the Mongolia depression and the West Pacific high, and APD index can be used as an intensity index of EASM. (2) EOF analysis of GHT anomalies at 500 hPa in the East Asia–West Pacific region shows that the first EOF mode is characterized with an obvious meridional East Asian pattern (EAP), and EAP index can also be used as an EASM intensity index. (3) The composite analysis of high/low APD index years reveals the close correlation of APD index with EAP at 500 hPa (or 850 hPa). The study shows an obvious opposite correlation exists between APD index and EAP index with a correlation coefficient of –0.23, which passes the confidence test at 0.10 level. (4) Both APD and EAP indexes are closely correlated with precipitation during flood-prone season in China and precipitation rate over the East Asia–West Pacific region. The significant correlation area at 5% confidence level is mainly located from the southern area of the Yangtze River valley to the ocean around southern Japan, and the former is a positive correlation and the latter is a negative one.

Abstract: J.N.Warfield identified and classified the mindbugs (cognitive barriers), and put forward the process-based work program of complexity, and argued that the complexity could be managed through design. The eleven kinds of common mindbugs are figured out among the twenty five kinds of mindbugs with questionnaire. The relationship between the six root risk factors of implementation of the information technology service management (ITSM) project and these common mindbugs are also identified. It is found that the influence of mindbugs of habit is most serious in the ITSM project because the implementation of ITSM project would change the original work habits and methods of people. Finally, some recommendations are put forward to mitigate the root risk factors.

Abstract: The propose of research is to help those global companies to improve their IT service management (ITSM) more effectively. The ITSM of M company is analyzed with global IT management model, which contains 12 structuring elements, and the structuring elements model and their best practices are established in the IT service operation and maintenance process in the views of centers of excellence, shared services and value managers. Both the 12 structuring elements and 5 M company’s best practices of ITSM are rated with both critical success factors and analytic hierarchy process. The best practices are in the following: good relationship with customers (0.279), seamless and efficient department cooperation (0.231), team proficient in business and enterprise resource planning professional knowledge (0.226), high-quality library of knowledge management (0.176) and educational training (0.088).

Abstract: Firstly, it is found that process design is necessary for software process improvement after analyzing its complexity. Then, research methods and concepts framework are put forward, and the research content is also provided. The find-ings of research, including propositions of complexity of software process, the work program of complexity of software process improvement, software enterprise model and software production support structure are clarified. Finally, the demonstration, including mindbugs (cognitive barriers) in software process and the knowledge integration support structure of quality software production, is illustrated with case study. It is concluded that the research is useful for both software production and knowledge economy in the future.

In this paper a novel approach of English Phonetic Alphabet applicable to Chinese people was introduced. This novel English Phonetic Alphabet was specially designed in line with the characteristics of radio telephone frequency communication in China and pronunciation habit and English level of most of Chinese people; which not only can improve the voice quality and guarantee accurate transfer of information, but also is integrated with the pronunciation characteristics of Chinese language, with the functions to avoid the uncommon, easily confusing and difficultly pronouncing English words, and efficiently improve the wireless communication efficiency.

Factors Analysis to Determine the Policy from Four Countries around South China Sea  [PDF]

Abstract: Since 2012, four countries around South China Sea have emphasized each own policy towards South China Sea. Among them, Vietnam and Philippines have enhanced the policy to resist China, while Malaysia and Brunei have insisted on the established policy to defend their illegal interests. It is argued that those changes are resulted in great shifts about primary factors to affect sea policies from four countries. Those shifts are as followed: measures enhanced by Vietnam and Philippines to struggle for interests of South China Sea; China’s un-sustaining policy altered to be more positive; America’s turning to support Vietnam and Philippines; ASEAN’s balance and outside power’s active intervention. Therefore, those factors steady or not will influence the condition of South China Sea in the future, and the tendency to withstand China will last a long time.
