Energy Saving Performance of Detached House with Hydrogen Co-generation System  [PDF]

Abstract: Energy consumption is increasing every year in building sector, utilization and development of alternative energy sources and technologies to support the requirements of every house. The hydrogen fuel cell is one of the latest technologies for distributed energy systems. This research is aim to grasp the energy saving performance of the hydrogen co-generation system in the detached house. First, it investigated on the demand-side energy consumption including electricity, cooling, heating and hot water. Second, it introduced a distributed energy resources (DER) system and set six cases to analyze the energy utilization. Different options for changing the heating, cooling, electricity and hot water systems were compared for this type of detached house, assuming basiccase as a reference. Changes in the fuel used, energy operation machines and also demand side and supply side were analyzed. Except past case, every case will be operated under the electricitytracking mode and heat-tracking mode. The comparisons and evaluations of the energy consumption between cases can suggest the environmental performance of the hydrogen co-generation system.

Abstract: The paper is written to analyze the behavior of a selected set of vehicles with different makes, on how they survive after each owner change. The data come from Github. The four cars are Honda Accord, Mini Cooper, Chevy Cavalier, and Toyota Avalon. The two faults are Engine System and Transmission System. The data are from 1996 to 2012. The paper used the Kaplan-Meier curve to survival analysis; the paper also calculates and discusses the self-comparison of each car’s four time periods, the four-stage failure rate through median comparison, and the median comparison of fault conditions in all years. We find that all the vehicle types have gotten better with the years and Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Honda.

Abstract:
The polymer content in the produced water from Tuoliu Station is about 20 mg/L. Cationic imidazoline-type corrosion inhibitor is used to corrosion control of sewage. The corrosion inhibitor can react with the negatively charged materials such as anionic polymer and suspended substance by adsorption and merging to form complex aggregates, so that the suspended solids content increases, resulting in suspended solids content of exported sewage has been high. So a new type of non-ionic corrosion inhibitor has been developed and field trials have been performed. The results show that non-ionic corrosion inhibitor can effectively reduce the suspended solids content of wastewater while ensuring the corrosion rate of wastewater.

Abstract: In this paper, we use the futures exchange copper trading data of Shanghai as a sample for the VaR quantitative analysis. Through empirical analysis, the results showed that VaR method based on GARCH model can be a good fit in the insurance value of copper futures. Therefore, we can consider it as an important means of futures risk management in our country, and with reference t to establish corresponding risk warning system.

Abstract:

The performance of the current stabilization control system in an aluminum smelter affects the quality and the quantity of the electrolytic products. This paper elaborates the power supply, in which the diode rectifiers and the self-saturable reactors could keep the series current stable, then describes the basic principle of the rectifier unit control and the series current control. A coordinate strategy is proposed to keep the series current stable, the self-saturable reactors are controlled by a proportional-integral control scheme and the on load tap changers of transformer are triggered by the errors between the setting value of the series voltage and the measured values of the series voltage. Simulation results on PSCAD/EMTDC show that the effectiveness of the proposed strategy to keep the series current stable.

The Theoretically Studies and Field Testing of Self-Insulation Exterior Wall in the Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone  [PDF]

Abstract: The energy efficiency design of the exterior wall in the buildings of the hot summer and cold winter zone of China should consider the heat prevention in summer and the heat insulation in winter. The self-insulation of the exterior?wall is a more feasible design to satisfy the energy efficiency of buildings in the?zone. However, the systematic research is urgently needed for the self-insulation of the exterior wall in the hot summer and cold winter zone of China. The paper tested the thermal performance of the common non-clay materials such as shale sintered hollow brick, sand autoclaved aerated concrete block, etc. by means of indoor experiments. The energy efficiency effect of the common materials was verified using dynamic calculation soft PKPM and several constitutions of exterior wall with different main bricks and insulation materials on the heat bridge were simulated, too. Besides, the tests of the thermal performance of exterior wall in real constructions were carried out to testify the practical effect of the recommended constitutions of exterior wall with different main bricks and insulation materials on the heat bridge. The conclusions are: the physical and thermal properties of the six non-clay wall material are better than the clay porous brick; the thermal performance of the non-clay brick can be improved obviously through the rational arrangement of the holes; shale sintered hollow brick after increasing the holes and rationalizing the hole arrangement and sand autoclaved aerated concrete block are recommended for buildings in the hot summer and cold winter area of China. The dynamic calculation results show that the thermal performances?of the non-clay materials are all satisfied with the energy efficiency; The heat transfer coefficient of the exterior wall with composition,?in which?the main wall was sand autoclaved aerated concrete block and the material on the heat bridge was sand autoclaved aerated concrete plate, is the smallest among the three recommended compositions.
Comparative analgesic effect of Ligusticum chuanxiong pieces and its products in mice

Abstract: The present study was undertaken with the objective of finding out the comparative analgesic effect of Ligusticum chuanxiong (LC) pieces decoction, LC formula granule decoction, liquored LC pieces decoction and liquored LC formula granule decoction. The analgesic effects were analyzed using the hot plate and acetic-induced writhing test in mice, and antidysmenorrheic effect was observed with primary dysmenorrhea model. The results showed that four kinds of LC decoction had definite effect in delaying incubation period and decreasing the writhing frequency within 30 min. They also effectively relieved dysmenorrhea. Moreover, liquored LC had better analgesic effect than crude LC in four decoctions.
Loop Corrections to Cosmological Perturbations in Multi-field Inflationary Models

Abstract: We investigate one-loop quantum corrections to the power spectrum of adiabatic perturbation from entropy modes/adiabatic mode cross-interactions in multiple DBI inflationary models. We find that due to the non-canonical kinetic term in DBI models, the loop corrections are enhanced by slow-varying parameter $\epsilon$ and small sound speed $c_s$. Thus, in general the loop-corrections in multi-DBI models can be large. Moreover, we find that the loop-corrections from adiabatic/entropy cross-interaction vertices are IR finite.
High Resolution Search for Exotic Pentaquark $Θ^{++}$, and $Θ^+$ at Jefferson Lab

Abstract: Recent evidence for the existence of pentaquark $\Theta^+$ particle from several experiments at several different laboratories around the world has caused great excitement and raised many unanswered questions. We discuss a new proposal on a high resolution experiment searching for pentaquark states in Hall C at Jefferson Lab using an untagged bremsstrahlung photon beam employing both the hydrogen and the deuterium targets by studying the following processes: $\gamma p \to \Theta^{++} K^-$, and $\gamma n \to \Theta^+ K^-$. This new experiment will significantly improve our current knowledge of the mass, the width of the $\Theta^+$ particle if it is confirmed and provide unambiguous evidence for the existence or non-existence of the $\Theta^{++}$ particle from the \gamma p \to \Theta^{++} K^-$ process.
CO in Stephan's Quintet: First Evidence of Molecular Gas in the Intragroup Starburst

Abstract: We present the first interferometric evidence of CO(1-0) emission in the intragroup starburst (IGS) region of HCG~92 (Stephan's Quintet). BIMA's large primary beam covers fully both the IGS region and the dominant group member galaxy Seyfert NGC 7319, as well as partially the intruder galaxy NGC 7318B. CO emission of $\approxgt 4\sigma$ is detected in all of them. The detection of the CO emission associated with the IGS is further supported by comparisons with observations in other wavebands (e.g., HI, mid-IR, \ha). Assuming the standard conversion factor, 3.6--8.0$\times 10^8~\Msun$ molecular gas is found to be associated with the IGS. Confining to the region of the CO emission peak, a relatively high star-formation efficiency of 8.6$\Lsun/\Msun$ is derived for the IGS, which is nearly comparable to that of local starburst galaxies (e.g., M82).
