Performance Assessment of Islanding Detection for Mul-ti-inverter Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems  [PDF]

Abstract:

Islanding detection is an essential function for safety and reliability in grid-connected Distributed Generation Systems (DGS). Passive and active islanding detection methods have been analyzed in literature considering DGS with only one inverter connected to the utility. With the big scale application of photovoltaic (PV) power systems, islanding detection technology of multi-inverter DGS has been paid more attention. This paper analyzes the performance of diverse islanding detection methods in multiple inverters grid-connected PV systems. Non-Detection Zones (NDZ) of multi-inverter systems in a load parameter space are used as analytical tool. The paper provides guidance for the islanding detection design in multiple grid-connected inverters.

Event-Related Potential Effects Associated with Insight Problem Solving in a Chinese Logogriph Task  [PDF]

Abstract: The electrophysiological correlates of insight and non-insight problems solving were studied using event- related potentials (ERPs). Participants were given some time to guess Chinese logogriphs and then presented with an answer to judge whether it matched the logogriph. Results showed that the insight trials elicited a more negative ERP deflection (N300-500) than did the non-insight trials in most scalp regions. In a later time window from 600 ms to 1100 ms, the insight trials elicited a more positive ERP deflection (P600-1100) than the non-insight trials, mostly in central regions. The results indicate that the early N300-500 effect may reflect cognitive conflict resulting from the breaking of mental set and the later P600-1100 effect may be related to the formation of novel associations, both crucial to the occurrence of insight.

Abstract:

Geographical Information System (GIS) always plays an integral role in LBS systems. But it comes with technology problems, such as less flexible, low efficiency, no redundancy of existing geographic information of application configuration which has high entry cost. At same time, indoors positioning is attracting more and more attention from research domain where GPS-like systems do not work. By RSSI location fingerprint data that sampling from the actual WSN environment, this article analyzed RF signal propagation characteristics in indoor from the point of view of the indoor positioning, and analyzed some factors that may affect the positioning error, which provided a theoretical basis for the positioning algorithm design and positioning system deployment. The aim of this paper is also to present a lightweight, efficient and scalable microkernel plug-in geospatial information application system and its implementation method for GIS in LBS design and practice. In this paper a software model called Resource loading manager (RLM) is designed. Through the RLM efficient allocation of geographic information resources and security management could be achieved.

Abstract: By contrasting the traditional way in which GIS was completed that comes with less flexible, low efficiency, and lack redundancy which cause high entry cost, the fast development of microkernel plug-in technology provides the lightweight, efficient and scalable solution to Geographical Information System (GIS). This paper is to reveal the potential of microkernel plug-in geospatial information processing technology in GIS design and practice, with the acceptance and usage of function model called Resource loading manager(RLM) for GIS applications, which provides a possible solution to overcome the GIS’s high cost issue. After the short review of microkernel plug-in technology, the possibility of GIS design with microkernel is analyzed. This paper also introduced the composition of the whole system and the design of GIS service platform based on middle-ware in detail.

Abstract: Automatic image tagging has been a long standing problem, it mainly relies on image recognition techniques of which the accuracy is still not satisfying. This paper attempts to explore out-of-band sensing base on the mobile phone to sense the people in a picture while the picture is being taken and create name tags on-the-fly. The major challenges pertain to two aspects - "Who" and "Which". (1) "Who": discriminating people who are in the picture from those that are not; (2) "Which": correlating each name tag with its corresponding people in the picture. We propose an accurate acoustic scheme applying on the mobile phones, which leverages the Doppler effect of sound wave to address these two challenges. As a proof of concept, we implement the scheme on 7 android phones and take pictures in various real-life scenarios with people positioning in different ways. Extensive experiments show that the accuracy of tag correlation is above 85% within 3m for picturing.

Abstract: The molecular mechanisms underlying innate immunity in the earthworm E. fetida remain unclear. For the recognition of innate immunity in the earthworm E. fetida, a detailed knowledge of this proteome is a prerequisite. The absence of a high-resolution E. fetida proteome map prompted us to determine E. fetida protein spots that can be visualised on 2-D protein gels. In this study, we present a preliminary description of the whole earthworm E. fetida proteome. A highly detailed two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) map of the E. fetida proteome was established and approximately 1500 protein spots were detected from the earthworm sample when applying a 500 μg protein 2-DE in the pH range 3.0 - 10.0. We present a 2-DE proteome map of E. fetida, identifying 76 different proteins by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-tandem time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/ TOF-MS) analysis. These identified proteins, including heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), chaperonine protein HSP60, caspase-8, fibrinolytic protease 0, gelsolin-like protein, lombricine kinase, coelomic cytolytic factor1 (CCF 1), manganous superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), triosephosphate isomerase, extracellular globin-4, lysenin, and intermediate filament protein, glyceraldehyde-3- phosphate dehydrogenase, et al., are involved in several processes, including transcripttion, translation, the tricarboxylic acid cycle, the cellular amino acid metabolic process, protein amino acid phosphorylation, glycolysis, and the glucose metabolic process. These 2-DE data will enhance future comparisons of immunity, toxicology, biotic processes and other challenges, thereby allowing for further study of the molecular mechanisms in response to environmental stressors, and it will be useful to investigate environmental proteomics in invertebrate earthworms.

Abstract: China has been the largest country in terms of the scale of higher engineering education in the world. The training plan of excellent engineers (TPEE) that launched in 2010 is to train various types of high-quality engineers and technical personnel who have strong innovative abilities and meet the need of economic and social development. The theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ), as a scientific methodology to solve innovation problems, provides a theoretical basis and practical guideline for the training of excellent engineers. This paper analyzes the teaching philosophy and methods for the training of excellent engineers within TRIZ framework from the demand perspective, and then discusses the enlightenment of disseminating TRIZ in the following aspects, such as TRIZ application in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, faculty development, platform development of innovative education and so on.

Abstract:

In order to understand the status quo of entrepreneurship education in universities inShanghai, this article draws data from a survey on college students in Shanghai. The sample covers a wide range of students from different majors, school years, and regional backgrounds. The analysis focuses on their recognition of entrepreneurship education, the curriculum, and the preparation of entrepreneurship, etc. Based on the survey data, the article also discusses the current problems of entrepreneurship education in universities and provides suggestion in terms of the conception of reforming entrepreneurship education, the entrepreneurship curriculum, and the mechanism supporting entrepreneurship among college students.

Abstract:
Location Based Services (LBS) have become a popular technology to retrieve information about the surroundings of a mobile user which results in ubiquitous demand of spatial information service with diverse needs of different types of users. The aim of this paper is to reveal the potential of cloud-based spatial information service architecture that plays an integral role in LBS design and practice. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the spatial information of cloud services, such as data access transparency, spatial analysis parallelization, service capabilities flexible, information services standardization, service aggregation visualization, re-development flexible. This paper provides a possible solution to overcome the LBS service issues. In this paper, the short review of LBS and Cloud computing are given first and then the possibility of LBS design with cloud computing are analyzed. At last, cloud-based spatial information service architecture is proposed.
GnRH Antagonist Protocol: Is It Optimal for All Patients of Different Ages Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer?  [PDF]

Abstract: Background: To assess the effect of these two protocols in patients of different ages. Methods: 1923 in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) cycles were divided into two groups: a GnRH-ant protocol group and GnRH-a long protocol group, and then every group were subdivided into four age ranges. The general materials and IVF outcomes were compared. Results: The incidence of OHSS fluctuated from 0% to 2.37% with GnRH-ant protocol, which was significantly lower than another (P < 0.05). Of all age ranges, the implantation and clinical pregnancy rates with GnRH-ant protocol were all lower than those with GnRH-a protocol. When the age was less than 35 years old, the CPRs in GnRH-ant protocol group were significantly lower than in another group (45.56% vs. 62.29%, 46.07% vs. 55.59%, respectively; P < 0.05). Conclusion: The antagonist protocol should be considered in patients with a high ovarian response (e.g., PCOS patients) to avoid OHSS. Older patients (>35 years) could be treated with the antagonist protocol.
