Implementation of LT Code with a Novel Degree Distribution  [PDF]

Abstract: It is known that Luby Transform code (LT code) is the first code fully realizing the digital fountain concept and provides an efficient scheme to transfer information over different channels. The key to make LT code work well is the degree distribution used in the encoding procedure. It determines the degree of each encoding symbol. On the basis of robust solition distribution and optimized degree distribution, a novel degree distribution which has only one parameter is proposed in this paper. Through computer simulation, the performance of LT code with the novel degree distribution is better than the robust solition distribution and sparse degree distribution. The conclusion of the research is practically valuable in improving the efficience of data distribution application.
Development and Practice of Integrated Nursing Model NNN Link for Breastfeeding Clinical Nursing Model as a Whole  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To establish breastfeeding clinical holistic nursing model used in clinical nursing and teaching, it is possible to improve nurses and nursing students to master knowledge of breastfeeding, analysis, judgment, decision-making and the ability to care-related issues, promoting pure improve breastfeeding rates. Method: 1) The North American Nursing Diagnosis Nursing Association (NANDA), Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) and Nursing Classification (NIC) link (NNN link) clinical clues reasoning to determine the contents of the questionnaire were used. Then, the Delphi method to care was used. 2) The survey questionnaire was designed. The content included the clinical holistic nursing care model in breastfeeding and the model’s use situation. 3) Questionnaire survey: in the national midwifery care industries, volunteers were collected who were willing to use the breastfeeding clinical holistic nursing care model in the nursing work. We issued 98 questionnaires and took back 76 valid questionnaires. Results: The construction of the breastfeeding clinical holistic nursing model includes 9 nursing diagnoses which contain the breastfeeding effective, the lack of knowledge, the decision conflicts, the risk of breast tenderness, the risk of cracked nipple, the invalid hazard occurring in breastfeeding, the risk of caregiver role strain, the risk of breast feeding jaundice and the ineffective community coping, 18 nursing outcomes and 64 nursing measures. In the composition of breastfeeding after clinical holistic nursing model in clinical practice, 100% of obstetric nurses think that the breastfeeding nursing model can promote the nursing staff to care patients according to the nursing process, can help nurses to analyze, evaluate, make decision, and care about breastfeeding related problems, as well as can promote the mother’s milk feeding rate. Conclusion: The establishment of the breastfeeding nursing model provides a learning material for obstetric breast-feeding. Moreover, nursing diagnosis, nursing outcomes and nursing measures correspond according to the form of chart, which are easy to use and find. The breastfeeding clinical holistic nursing model is practicing in clinical nursing, which can help nursing staff to improve the ability of nursing personnel according to evidence-based nursing patients, to improve the ability of nursing personnel analysis, evaluation, decision-making and nursing in breastfeeding problems and to promote the rate of breastfeeding.
A cooperative spectrum sensing results transmission schemewith LT code based on energy efficiency priority

Abstract: To deal with a sharp increase in transmission energy consumption due to the presence of a large number of secondary users(SUs), an energy-efficient cooperative spectrum sensing results transmission scheme is proposed for cognitive radio systems. First, a cluster-based structure is introduced into the sensing results transmission scheme to reduce the transmission power. Then, the centralized sensing results transmission model is employed, and the non-fixed code rate Luby transform(LT)code is selected as the channel coding since its code rate can dynamically adapt to channel conditions and therefore avoid unnecessary redundancy in the transmission power. Furthermore, an improved optimal degree distribution(ODD)is designed for the LT code. The simulation results show that the choice of the appropriate parameters in degree distribution is very helpful for the LT code to achieve a promising performance. The ODD with optimized parameters can achieve more than 2 dB performance gain than other typical degree distributions when the bit error rate(BER)is 10-3. The energy consumption of the proposed scheme is not only at least 71.4% lower than that of the non-coding system, but also lower than that of the convolutional coding system with different code rates. Meanwhile, the energy consumption can be further reduced in the case that a suitable clustering method is selected.

Research on the Effect of External Resource Acquisition on Process Innovation  [PDF]

Abstract: In the past, research on the effect of external resource integration on technological innovation focused on product innovation, and process innovation was largely ignored due to its silence. The study takes the high-tech manufacturing industry in China’s Bohai Rim, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions as a sample, and empirically analyzes the impact of government support, industry-university-research knowledge integration, and customer knowledge integration on corporate process innovation. The study found that: 1) government support can significantly promote process innovation, industry-university-research knowledge integration, and improve corporate performance. 2) The industry-university-research knowledge integration has a relatively significant positive impact on process innovation, but has no significant impact on firm performance. 3) Customer knowledge integration negatively affects process innovation and has no significant impact on firm performance.
The Effect of MUC1 rs4072037 Functional Polymorphism on Cancer Susceptibility: Evidence from Published Studies

Abstract: Genome-wide association studies have identified a susceptibility variation MUC1 rs4072037 for gastric cancer in Chinese population. Subsequent case-control studies have reported this association in other populations. However, the results remain controversial and ambiguous. The aim of this study is to provide a precise quantification for the association between MUC1 rs4072037 variation and the risk of cancer. We performed pooled analysis of 10 case-control designed studies including 4,220 cases and 6,384 controls. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were calculated to assess strength of association in overall studies and in subgroup analysis stratified by ethnicity and cancer types. All statistical analyses were performed by Manager 5.0 and Stata 12.0 software. Overall, the MUC1 rs4072037 polymorphism was associated with risk of cancer in all genetic models (G vs A: OR = 0.71, 95%CI: 0.63–0.80, p<0.01; GA vs AA: OR = 0.61, 95%CI:0.55–0.67, p<0.01; GG vs AA: OR = 0.58, 95%CI: 0.47–0.71, p<0.01; AG+AA vs GG: OR = 0.60, 95%CI: 0.55–0.60, p<0.01; GG vs AG+AA: OR = 0.70, 95%CI: 0.58–0.85, p<0.01). Further, subgroup analysis based on ethnicity suggested MUC1 rs4072037 polymorphism had a subtly reduced cancer risk among Asian population, and stratified analysis by cancer types showed significantly decreased risk of gastric cancer in all genetic models. In conclusion, MUC1 rs4072037 polymorphism may be used as potential biomarker for cancer susceptibility particularly for gastric cancer and for Asian population.
The Significance of Exo1 K589E Polymorphism on Cancer Susceptibility: Evidence Based on a Meta-Analysis

Abstract: The exonuclease1 (Exo1) gene is a key component of mismatch repair (MMR) by resecting the damaged strand, which is the only exonuclease involved in the human MMR system. The gene product is a member of the RAD2 nuclease family and functions in DNA replication, repair and recombination. However, whether Exo1 is required to activate MMR-dependent DNA damage response (DDR) remains unknown, the conclusions of the Exo1 polymorphisms on cancer susceptibility studies were not consistent. We carried out a meta-analysis of 7 case-control studies to clarify the association between the Exo1 K589E polymorphism and cancer risk. Overall,a significant association of the Exo1 K589E polymorphism with cancer risk in all genetic models (Lys vs Glu: OR = 1.51, 95%CI:1.39–1.99, P<0.01; Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 1.43, 95%CI:1.28–1.60, P<0.01; Lys/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 2.45, 95%CI:1.90–3.17, P<0.01; Lys/Lys+Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 1.53, 95%CI:1.38–1.71, P<0.01; Glu/Glu vs Glu/Lys+Lys/Lys: OR = 2.27, 95%CI:1.79–2.89, P<0.01). In the stratified analysis by ethnicity, significantly increased risk was observed in Asian population (Lys vs Glu: OR = 1.53, 95%CI:1.39–1.69, P<0.01; Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 1.50, 95%CI:1.34–1.69, P<0.01; Lys/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 2.48, 95%CI:1.84–3.34, P<0.01; Lys/Lys+Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 1.58, 95%CI:1.41–1.78, P<0.01; Glu/Glu vs Glu/Lys+Lys/Lys: OR = 2.18, 95%CI:1.62–2.93, P<0.01). Subgroup analysis based on smoking suggested Exo1 K589E polymorphism conferred significant risk among smokers (Lys/Lys+Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 2.16, 95%CI:1.77–2.63, P<0.01), but not in non-smokers (Lys/Lys+Glu/Lys vs Glu/Glu: OR = 0.89, 95%CI:0.64–1.24, P = 0.50). In conclusion, Exo1 K589E Lys allele may be used as a novel biomarker for cancer susceptibility, particularly in smokers.
The status quo of the science education in Guangxi middle school

Abstract: 17 middle school principals were surveyed by means of the questionnaires and interview to investigate the status quo of the science education in Guangxi middle school, including students’ science learning time in classroom, science teachers’ morale, students’ morale, the quality of school’s human and material resources, and obstacles in science education. The results showed that physics and chemistry learning time in classroom were more than that of geography and biology. Although some schools had effective science teachers and computer resources, many schools were short of them, and the ratios of student-science teacher, student-computer and teacher-computer are high, especially in junior secondary schools. The results also revealed that many science teachers had great enthusiasm and new ideas in science teaching and reform. Furthermore, most students had positive attitude in science study, they were cooperative and respectful, but were not being provided enough opportunities to achieve their full potential. Finally, some suggestions were given to improve the quality of basic science education.

Abstract: In the title complex, {[Cu(C12H12O4)(C5H5N)2]·H2O}n, the CuII ion lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by two O atoms from two 2,3,5,6-tetramethylbenzene-1,4-dicarboxylate (TBDC) ligands and two N atoms from two pyridine ligands in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The TBDC ligands act as bridging ligands, forming chains along [110]. These chains are further linked into a two-dimensional network via intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds. The solvent water molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis.
