Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference in alcohol use between urban and rural students of Inner Mongolia Medical University. Methods: A cross-sectional census was conducted on medical students on campus in 2013. We use multivariate logistic regression models to assess the factors associated with alcohol use. We further use chi-square test assess on differences in alcohol use between urban and rural people among significance factors in logistic regression models. Results: The prevalence of alcohol use among students in rural area was higher than that in urban area (p = 0.016). Alcohol use was associated with Gender, monthly expenses, residence, ethnic and faculty. The odds of alcohol use for Mongolia students were 1.139 times higher than that for Han students. The prevalence of alcohol consumption among students from pharmacy or Traditional Chinese Medicine and Mongolian Medicine faculties in rural area was higher than that among student in urban area (p = 0.03; p = 0.001). The prevalence of alcohol use among female students in rural area was higher than that among female students in urban area (p < 0.043). The proportion of alcohol use among students with <600 in rural area was higher than that among students in urban area (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Considering the differences in the prevalence of alcohol use between rural area and urban area, university administrators aiming at students from various regions develop various approaches.

Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2011.41004
Abstract: This paper has researched the issue of corporate control transfer failed in china capital market, which is completely different from existing studies in corporate control transfer field. The conclusion has shown that corporate control transfer very likely fails when there is a great difference between two sides of deals. And the equity nature is another affection factor. The corporate control transfer is not likely to fail when the equity nature is state-owned. The conclusion implies that we should make more improvement for institutions of corporate control transfer, because of the lack of market voluntary trade rule in china capital market.

Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2013.54B153

The result of OPF whose task is to compute the voltage and angle of each node in power system is the basic of stability calculation and failure analysis in power system. For this goal, the idea of simulated annealing method is introduced, mixed with the greedy randomized algorithm (GRASP), and then the hybrid SA algorithm is obtained. The algorithm is applied to the multi-objective optimal power flow calculation of power system, and the effectiveness of the algorithm given in this paper is verified by analysis of examples.

Abstract: In this paper, the approach to produce the complex wavelet packet basis function is given. A complex wavelet packet function based frequency-hopping multiple access communication system, which employs antenna diversity and decision feedback equalization, is proposed. The simulation results show that the new multiple access system outperforms the analogy system based on real wavelet packet basis function modulation. In addition, it has high spectrum efficiency, high security and good narrow band interference rejection capability. Furthermore, the developed system is also easy to support multirate voice and date services.

Abstract: Sphingomyelin synthase (SMS) plays an important role in plasma atherogenic lipoprotein metabolism, inflammation, and the development of atherosclerosis. To understand whether the impaired apoB secretion and inflammation response is a direct result from lack of SMS activity, in this study, we prepared a series of compounds that inhibit SMS activity. Further, we characterized Dy105, the most potent inhibitor. We found that Dy105 treatment significantly reduces SM levels in SM-rich microdomain on cell membranes. Moreover, we found that SMS inhibition reduces apoB secretion in a human hepatoma cell line and reduces the activation of NFκB and p38, a MAP kinase, in bone marrow derived macrophages. These studies provided further evidence that SMS activity regulates atherogenic lipoprotein metabolism and inflammatory responses. Pharmacologic inhibition of SMS may be a new therapy for atherosclerosis by reducing apoB secretion, and reducing inflammation.
Oscillation of Davydov Solitons in Three Wells  [PDF]
Bi Qiao
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2016.713161
Abstract: In this work, we propose a model of oscillation of Davydov solitons in three wells. It can be used as a mathematical and physical frame in simulation of circle of some nonlinear oscillation of excitations via acupuncture system. The calculation shows that this sort of oscillation is possible if the initial rate of average occupational number of the quasi-particles in the wells is not equal to zero. One of oscillations arising relies on the initial rate of average occupational number of quasi-particles to be equal with each other within three wells. Then, the oscillation is not a kind of Josephson oscillation and has complicated frequency distributions. However, the total behavior of oscillation played is similar to three big solitons concentrated in three wells. In this sense, this model generally reveals a sort of oscillation mechanism of the acupuncture system how to work in the body, which allows us to understand the oscillation that may be one of fundamental natures in the acupuncture system.

Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2017.83020
Abstract: In this work, we try to build a model to describe the condensation through the couple of bio-solitons in a well based on the BCS theory extended by the nonlinear operator, which can be used to simulate the created process of the internal elixir in the middle of the abdomen of the human body. The goal of this work is to provide a mechanism to explain the effect of stored bio-energy in the bio-systems.

Technology and Investment (TI) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ti.2017.83014
Abstract: International trade’s real impact on domestic employment has always been controversial. In the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump strongly argued that China-US Trade had resulted in many unemployed since China’s accession to the WTO. Does China-US trade have an impact on the United States employment, and how does it affect employment? This is the main issue discussed in this paper. In the first part, this paper briefly introduces the status of China-US trade and the United States employment. Then, the second part discusses whether China-US trade has an impact on employment in the US and how it affects employment, and mainly argues allocation costs and adjustment costs of trade shocks as well as other factors of high unemployment of the United States, such as technology. The third part will give some advice about the problem of unemployment in the United States. The final part is a conclusion.
Sexism in News: A Comparative Study on the Portray of Female and Male Politicians in The New York Times  [PDF]

Open Journal of Modern Linguistics (OJML) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojml.2014.45061
Abstract: Adopting a comparative and descriptive case study of The New York Times, this paper aims to probe into the gender discrimination against female politicians in the news media. The New York Times, one of the most authoritative newspapers in the world, can be a convincing representative to expose the universal ideologies like sexism in the news media. The authors attempt to analyze the sexism in news from two dimensions, namely, horizontal dimension (synchronic) and vertical dimension (diachronic). Horizontally, the news reports concerning Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, two rivals of the Democratic Party in the 2008 American presidential election, are chosen. By analyzing the difference in speech reporting, it can be seen that female politicians’ speeches are more controlled and interfered. Vertically, based on Markedness Theory, we explore the development and change in formal marking, distributional marking and semantic marking. It is observable that in spite of the current subtle sexism hidden in news reports, news media have made great efforts in preventing gender discrimination over the past century and sexism against women in the current news reports appears to be less direct and more subtle compared with the past.
