A Study on Relationship between Depression and Subjective Well-Being of College Student  [PDF]

Abstract:

The current research aimed to explore the relationship between depression, the social support and subjective well-being using questionnaire survey. The results showed that the social support, depression and subjective well-being were significantly related. It is found that the depression and the sense of subjective well-being of students play a role of predictive by regression analysis.

The Existence of Multiple Periodic Solutions of Nonautonomous Delay Differential Equations

Abstract: We study the multiplicity of periodic solutions of nonautonomous delay differential equations which are asymptotically linear both at zero and at infinity. By making use of a theorem of Benci, some sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the existence of multiple periodic solutions. 1. Introduction The existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions of delay differential equations have received a great deal of attention. In 1962, Jones [1] firstly investigated the existence of periodic solutions to the following scalar equation: By making use of Browder fixed point theorem, the author showed that there exist periodic solutions of (1.1) for each . Since then, various fixed point theorems have been used to study the existence of periodic solutions of delay differential equations(cf. [2]). As pointed out in [3], by making change of variable , (1.1) turns into In 1974, Kaplan and Yorke [4] studied the following more general form of??(1.2) They introduced a technique which translates the problem of the existence of periodic solutions of a scalar delay differential equation to that of the existence of critical points of an associated ordinary differential system. Using this method, they proved that (1.3) has a periodic solution with minimal period 4 (resp., 6) when (1.3) has one delay (resp., two delays). In this direction, Fei, Li and He did some excellent work and got some signification results (cf. [5–8]). Many other approaches, such as coincidence degree theory, the Hopf bifurcation theorem, and the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem, have also been used to study the existence of periodic solutions of delay differential equations (cf. [9, 10]). However, most of those results are concerned with scalar delay equations. In 2005, Guo and Yu [3] studied vector delay differential system (1.2). They built a variational structure for (1.2) on certain suitable spaces. Then they reduced the existence of periodic solutions of (1.2) to that of critical points of an associated variational functional. By making use of pseudoindex theory, they obtained some sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of multiple periodic solutions. In spite of so many papers on periodic solutions of delay differential equations, there are a quite few researches on nonautonomous case (see for example [11]). Abstract: In the polymeric title complex, [Mn(C9H9O2S)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]n, the Mn2+ cation and the 4,4′-bipyridine ligand lie on a twofold rotation axis. The cation has an MnN2O4 octahedral environment, being coordinated by the O atoms of two water molecules and two monodentate (4-tolylsulfanyl)acetate anions, and by two N atoms of two 4,4′-bipyridine ligands. The latter bridge adjacent cations into linear chains parallel to [010]. The chains are further linked with each other into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) via intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds.
On the Arbitrariness of Linguistic Signs

Abstract: There are many different opinions on the arbitrariness of linguistic signs. This paper will review these different understandings of the arbitrariness and linguistic signs and some arguments of some famous linguists over the arbitrariness of linguistic signs. Although now we can not gain a final solution to these arguments, we can see that these arguments themselves are developing, improving and that they improve the theory of arbitrariness of linguistic signs as a whole. Holding a developing and philosophical attitude to the arbitrariness of linguistic signs, we can say that while the connection of sound to concept may have been arbitrary, the relationships between linguistic signs after they are made within a language system are not arbitrary. Key words: arbitrariness; linguistic signs; comprehensive view Résumé: Il y a beaucoup d'opinions différentes sur le caractère arbitraire des signes linguistiques. Cet article passera en revue quelques conceptions différentes et des arguments de certains linguistes célèbres sur le caractère arbitraire des signes linguistiques. Bien que nous ne pouvons pas avoir une solution définitive à ces arguments, nous pouvons constater que ces arguments sont eux-mêmes en cours de se développer et s’améliorer et qu’ils améliorent la théorie de l'arbitraire des signes linguistiques dans son ensemble. En tenant une attitude philosophique en développement à l’égard de l'arbitraire des signes linguistiques, nous pouvons dire que bien que la connexion du son au concept pouvait être arbitraire, les relations entre les signes linguistiques après leur création dans un système linguistique ne sont pas arbitraires. A Study on Qian Zhongshu’s Translation: Sublimation in Translation

Abstract: Qian Zhongshu was a master of Chinese belles letters and an influential translator in China. This thesis discusses Qian Zhongshu’s role as an important translator and focuses on reviewing both his translation theory and practice. This thesis consists of five parts. The first part introduces the subject. The second part presents Qian Zhongshu’s translation theory. The third part presents his translated works and analyses with examples of his translations. The fourth part discusses the influence of Qian Zhongshu’s translation. The last part concludes this paper. Qian Zhongshu’s study of translation began early and was a life-long occupation. The development of his translation theory can be divided chronologically into four periods: the thirties, the forties, the late sixties and the seventies of the 20th century. This paper presents Qian’s different ideas on advancing translation theory at different periods of time. His translated works, Selected Works of Mao Zedong, Mao Zedong’s Poems, and countless quotations from the literatures of foreign languages, will all be reviewed. His theory regarding faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance and his theory of sublimation is below analyzed in detail with examples of his translations. His translations show his outstanding translating strategies and skills. Qian Zhongshu’s sublimation theory settles the long lived argument between literal translation and liberal translation, foreignization and domestication. In short, Qian’s translation theory and practice are indispensable parts of a Chinese translation system, which deserves study. Multi-Level Recursive Method of Short-Term Traffic Flow Forecast Based on PGAGO GM (1, 1) Model

Abstract: The prediction of short-term traffic flow has become one of the core researched content of ITS, and plays a key role in traffic management and control. Considering the concept of time varying parameters and the volatility of traffic flow data, multi-level recursive method based on PGAGO(Generalized Accumulated Generating Operation) GM (1,1) is adopted in this paper to improve the accuracy of the prediction and make the prediction model more tally with the actual situation. The forecast step is divided into two parts: the prediction of model parameters and traffic flow forecast based on the predicted values of the parameters. Results of example show that the combination of the two kinds of methods can not only improve the accuracy of the prediction, but also fit the situation that there are singular points in the parameter sequences. The introduction of PGAGO GM (1,1) model makes the model have more extensive applicability and practical meaning. Abstract: Studies on the IJ=00 $\pi\pi$ and $K\bar K$ coupled--channel system are made using newly derived dispersion relations between the phase shifts and poles and cuts. It is found that the $\sigma$ resonance must be introduced to explain the experimental phase shifts, after evaluating the cut contribution. The effects of nearby branch point singularities to the determination of the $f_0(980)$ resonance are also carefully clarified.
