The Application of a New Neutron Induced Gamma Ray Spectroscopy Tool in Evaluation the Shale Gas in Fuling Shale Gas Field  [PDF]

Abstract: Shale gas reservoir is characterized by complex lithology with ultra-low porosity and permeability, which brings many challenges in the formation evaluation. Elemental Capture Spectroscopy Sonde (ECS) can be used to measure the elements and get the formation of the mineralogy. LithoScanner is a newly-generated spectroscopy tool, which can be used to measure both inelastic and capture spectra, providing estimation of more elements, including silicon, calcium, iron, sulfur, titanium, gadolinium, aluminum, potassium, sodium, magnesium, manganese, carbon, etc. LithoScanner can be directly used to measure the total organic carbon content (TOC) in the formation, and provide solutions to the lithology classification and heterogeneous rock analysis (HRA). The changing lithology and borehole rugosity have little influence on the direct measurement of TOC by LithoScanner. LithoScanner shows great advantage in accuracy when comparing with other methods using triple-combo. The systematic lithology classification method in shale gas reservoir using LithoScanner is correlatable in multi-wells. The brittleness index from mineralogy can be applied to hydraulic stimulation. HRA results offered guides in both the coring sample selection and the experiment. The advantages of LithoScanner in shale gas formation evaluation were presented in this paper, and the workflow can also be applied to other reservoirs.

Abstract: Alignment of eight genome equivalents (6 Gb) to the public reference genome revealed 283,000 SNPs at ≥82% confirmation probability. Sequencing from libraries constructed to limit sequencing to start at defined restriction sites led to genotyping 10-fold more SNPs in all 8 accessions, and correctly imputing 11% more missing data, than from semirandom libraries. The SNP yield advantage of the reduced-representation method was less than expected, since up to one fifth of reads started at noncanonical restriction sites and up to one third of restriction sites predicted in silico to yield unique alignments were not sampled at near-saturation. For imputation accuracy, the availability of a genomically similar accession in the germplasm panel was more important than panel size or sequencing coverage.A sequence quantity of 3 million 50-base reads per accession using a BsrFI library would conservatively provide satisfactory genotyping of 96,000 sorghum SNPs. For most reliable SNP-genotype imputation in shallowly sequenced genomes, germplasm panels should consist of pairs or groups of genomically similar entries. These results may help in designing strategies for economical genotyping-by-sequencing of large numbers of plant accessions.Among the major world crops, sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Abstract: By X-ray powder diffraction technique and oxygen content analysis, a solid solution Sm1+xBa2-xCu3Oy has been determined in the range 0≤x≤0.4. When x<0.25. the Sm1+xBa2-xCu3Oy presents orthorhombic symmetry, and the orthorhombic-tetragonaJ transition ocCurs at x = 0.25. With the increase of x, TC decreases and finally breaks. The correlation between ox ygen content and phase structure at different quench temperatures related to Sm Ba2Cu3Oy has been investigated as well

Abstract: Crystals of the title compound, C14H8Cl6O4S, are twinned by inversion, with unequal components [0.85 (3):0.15 (3)]. The asymmetric unit contains two independent molecules that are related by a pseudo-inversion center. The Car—O [1.393 (9) and 1.397 (9) ] and ester S—O bond lengths [1.600 (5) and 1.590 (5) ] of both molecules are comparable to the structurally related 2,3,5,5-trichlorobiphenyl-4-yl 2,2,2-trichloroethyl sulfate. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the two molecules are 37.8 (2) and 35.0 (2)°.

Abstract: A new geometric asymmetric model for predicting the thermodynamic properties of ternary system from three sub-binaries is presented in this paper.Its analytical expression with good calculating ac- curacy is most simple in all asymmetric models.The new model was applied to predict the enthalpies of mixing of the Bi-Ga-Sn.Au-Ag-Sn and NaCl-KCl-CaCl_2 ternary systems which were in good agreements with experimental data.Based on thermodynamic principles,the importance of the choice of asymmetric component is also discussed.The error analysis indicates that in the case of judging the asymmetric component in ternary system according to the thermodynamic criterion the deviation is minimum.It is of great significance to improve the calculating accuracy for predicting thermodynamic properties of ternary solution phase from the sub-binary ones.

Abstract: 以TiO2和PbC2O4为反应物,NaCl和NaCl-KCl为熔剂,于820-1000℃保温2h制备了纯净的PbTiO3粉体.熔盐法制备过程中盐的用量以及温度明显的影响晶粒的尺寸,当温度低于900℃时,在氯化物盐中随着温度的升高,品粒尺寸逐渐增大;当温度高于900℃时,晶粒尺寸随温度的升高变化不大,品粒最终发育为较完整的球形.熔盐合成晶体生长过程为扩散机制控制,通过调整熔盐的用量及温度可以控制晶粒的尺寸与形貌.熔盐法制备PbTiO3粉体工艺流程简单,时间短,产量大,成本低,无污染.
A Framework of Research and Practice: Relationship between Work Engagement, Affective Commitment, and Turnover Intentions  [PDF]

Abstract:
There is a growing research interest in the topic of work engagement over the past years. In reference to Schauefeli, Salanova, Gonzalez-Roma & Bakker (2002) [1], work engagement is described as “a positive, fulfilling work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication and absorption”. As compare to the researches based on the relationship between work engagement and organizational commitment and job performance, the existing researches on the relationship between work engagement and turnover intentions are far fewer. We theoretically discussed the relationship among work engagement, affective commitment and turnover intentions. Research results show that work engagement is negatively related to turnover intentions whereby affective commitment plays a regulating role. Affective commitment moderates the relationship between work engagement and turnover intentions whereby employees’ affective commitment is stronger and employees are more willing to invest effort in their work; hence, employees’ turnover intentions are reduced.

With an analysis of economic value of business English practical teaching, this paper puts forward some principles and strategies for business English practical teaching. Estimating the Size of an Injecting Drug User Population  [PDF]

Abstract: This article describes a sampling and estimation scheme for estimating the size of an injecting drug user (IDU) population by combining classical sampling and respondent-driven sampling procedures. It is designed to use the information from harm reduction programs, especially, Needle Exchange Programs (NEPs). The approach involves using respondent-driven sampling design to collect a sample of injecting drug users who appear at site of NEP in a certain period of time and to obtain retrospective self-report data on the number of friends among the IDUs and number of needles exchanged for each sampled injecting drug user. A methodology is developed to estimate the size of injecting drug users who have ever used the NEP during the fixed period of time, and which allows us to estimate the proportion of injecting drug users in using NEP. The size of the IDU population is estimated by dividing the total number of IDUs who using NEPs during the period of time by the estimated proportion of IDUs in the group. The technique holds promise for providing data needed to answer questions such as “What is the size of an IDU population in a city?” and “Is that size changing?” and better understand the dynamics of the IDU population. The methodology described here can also be used to estimate size of other hard-to-reach population by using information from harm reduction programs.

Abstract: The metaphysical features of the mechanism for the integration of the information underlying protein folding were studied by applying principles of system logic theory. We conclude that it is not possible to predict all protein three-dimensional structures from protein sequences by one program only. This conclusion is validated in structural genomics in that we also cannot predict protein function from three-dimensional structure by one program only. Our theory also demonstrates that bioinformation flow from gene to biological function is an integration process, rather than an expression (translation) process. A system relationship between a gene and its biological function is also proposed. This electronic document is a “live” template.
