Research on the Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Chinese Trade Structure Optimization
—Based on the Strategic Background of the Belt and Road

Abstract: According to the data of Chinese OFDI and its domestic export trade during 2003 and 2016, the trade structure of China to host country is calculated in this paper, so as to analyze the influence of OFDI on domestic trade structure adjustment. It is shown that there is a close relationship between the OFDI and the domestic trade export, with OFDI not only expanding the scale of overall export trade, but also promoting the upgrade of domestic trade structure. Further, it is found that the marginal transfer effect of OFDI in China is not significant, while the value chain upgrade effect, industrial correlation effect and reverse technology spillover effect are positive. Specifically, OFDI has significantly promoted the increase in the proportion of exports of intermediate goods, capital goods and technology-intensive products in China, which is conducive to the improvement of Chinese international division of labor. In addition, this paper finds similar conclusions through regression analysis of Chinese OFDI and exports trade data of the Belt and Road countries.

Abstract: Strategic M&A is focused on the development of enterprises within the same industry or related industries and has multiple effects such as economies of scale, structural integration of upstream and downstream industry chain, powerful alliances and complementary advantages. A major motivation of strategic M&A is the synergistic effect. In the upsurge of M&A at home and abroad, failed to achieve the synergistic effect is one of the important reasons of a high failure rate of M&A. This paper probes into the example of Geely Automobile’s M&A of Swedish Volvo Car Corporation in March 2010 from a strategic angle by analyzing the strategic decision-making, the competitive environment, the me-chanism of action, the evaluation and the realization risks of the synergistic effect, thus to provide references for the M&A practice of Chinese enterprises.

The compound use cases describe the system function from the user point of view. Based on the compound use cases, we can generate the final user interfaces.

Abstract: This research aims to discuss and explore, from the perspective of Ecologic Education, the ecologic characteristics of the traditional Chinese sports education and the developmental direction of the teaching model of Chinese traditional ethnic sports education under the guide of the view of Ecologic Education. Firstly, this research explores the background of the appearing of the view of Ecologic Education and the basic ideas of Ecologic Education. After that, the writer of this article comes up with the ecologic characteristics particularly embraced in Chinese traditional ethnic sports education. These characteristics or features include the educational aim of pursuing harmony, the developmental model of advocating co-existence, the knowledge view of cultural circumstance, and the interactive and win-win relationship between teachers and students. After the analysis made above, the writer of this article further argues that under the view of Ecologic Education pursuing life education full of spirituality, focusing on the active construction of knowledge and exploring multiple ways of enculturation can be the very direction of the teaching model of Chinese traditional ethnic sports education.

Abstract: Chinese food is famous throughout the world. The China vegetable industry is a dynamic, growing horticultural sector whose products appeal to consumers. The fruit and vegetable market is the largest sector of the retail food market in China, yet barely affected by the development of new retail formats. Fruit and vegetable sales tend to be dominated by markets where local farmers supply produce direct from the field to the end consumer. A major driver for continual change in agric food business, to secure greater efficiencies, profitability and service, is the aim for much better integration in the food chain. The aim of ‘supply chain management’ is to better integrate business planning, and to effectively balance supply and demand across the entire chain. It tries to bring suppliers and customers more effectively together in one coherent and integrated business process (Alexander, 2003). In this paper, the opportunity is taken to examine some of the key drivers, in particular the importance of changing consumer lifestyles and behaviour, and their influences on food purchase. The significance of a better-integrated food chain is explored, as are proposals for successful future development of agric food business, in China. In this dissertation, the author used face-to-face interview and group interviews to get primary information.

Abstract: The performance of a 1-D soil model in a semiarid area of North China was investigated using observational data from a cropland station at the Tongyu reference site of the Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period (CEOP) during the non-growing period, when the ground surface was covered with bare soil. Comparisons between simulated and observed soil surface energy balance components as well as soil temperatures and water contents were conducted to validate the soil model. Results show that the soil model could produce good simulations of soil surface temperature, net radiation flux and sensible heat flux against observed values with the RMSE of 1.54oC, 7.71 W m-2 and 27.79 W m-2, respectively. The simulated volumetric soil water content is close to the observed values at various depths with the maximal difference between them being 0.03. Simulated latent heat and ground heat fluxes have relatively lower errors in relative to net radiation and sensible heat flux. In conclusion, the soil model has good capacity to simulate the bare soil surface energy balance at the Tongyu cropland station and needs to be further tested in longer period and at more sites in semiarid areas.

How to improve healthcare system’ efficiency has been highly concerned by Chinese government. The objectives of this paper are to establish production function of medical service and analyze returns to scale; to measure technical efficiency; and to highlight possible policy implications of the results for policy makers. Stochastic Frontier Approach (SFA) is employed in this paper based on data from 2010 China Health Statistical Yearbook. These findings suggest that increasing investment on human resource is a key factor for raising CHS’ efficiency. Operation model and institution will contribute to technology efficiency of CHS.

Design Optimization of TBM Disc Cutters for Different Geological Conditions  [PDF]

Abstract: A novel optimization methodology for the disc cutter designs of tunnel boring machines (TBM) was presented. To fully understand the characteristics and performance of TBM cutters, a comprehensive list of performance parameters were investigated, including maximum equivalent stress and strain, specific energy and wear life which were closely related to the cutting forces and profile geometry of the cutter rings. A systematic method was employed to evaluate an overall performance index by incorporating objectives at all possible geological conditions. The Multi-objective & Multi-geologic Conditions Optimization (MMCO) program was then developed, which combined the updating of finite element model, system evaluation, finite element solving, post-processing and optimization algorithm. Finally, the MMCO was used to optimize the TBM cutters used in a TBM tunnel project in China. The results show that the optimization significantly improves the working performances of the cutters under all geological conditions considered.

Abstract: Based on Riccati transformation and the inequality technique, we establish some new sufficient conditions for oscillation of the second-order neutral delay dynamic equations on time scales. Our results not only extend and improve some known theorems, but also unify the oscillation of the second-order nonlinear delay differential equation and the second-order nonlinear delay difference equation on time scales. At the end of this paper, we give an example to illustrate the main results.

By using the generalized Riccati technique and the integral averaging technique of Philos-type, two new oscillation criteria are obtained for every solution of the equations to be oscillatory, which extend and improve some known results in the literature recently.
