Study on the Theory of Capital Structure Based on Financial Flexibility under Uncertainty

Abstract: Through the analysis of the insufficiency of the modern theory of capital structure, the paper introduces the conception of financial flexibility under uncertain setting. The value of financial flexibility is determined by the real option, and the theory of capital structure is modified by the way that the financial flexibility is combined into the theory of capital structure. At last, the paper explores the firm's financial behavior by the modified theory of capital structure.
Relationship between Interleukin-10 ?1082A/G Polymorphism and Risk of Ischemic Stroke: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract: Objective To analyze the association between ?1082A/G polymorphism in interleukin-10 (IL-10) gene and ischemic stroke (IS) risk by meta-analysis. Methods We carried out a systematic electronic search in PubMed, BIOSIS Previews, Science Direct, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Database, Weipu database and WANGFANG Database. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated to assess the strength of the association. Results 7 studies were included. There was no significant association between IL-10 ?1082A/G polymorphism and IS risk under all genetic models in overall estimates (A vs. G: OR = 1.23,95%CI = 0.85–1.79;AA vs. GG: OR = 1.01,95%CI = 0.47–2.19; AG vs. GG: OR = 0.76, 95%CI = 0.38–1.55; AA+AG vs. GG: OR = 0.89,95%CI = 0.46–1.73; AA vs. AG+GG: OR = 1.39, 95%CI = 0.91–2.13). Similarly, no associations were found in subgroup analysis based on ethnicity and source of controls. However, removing the study deviating from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) produced statistically significant associations for overall estimates under recessive model(AA VS. AG+GG OR 1.58, 95% CI 1.04–2.42) and among Asians in all genetic models (A VS.G OR 1.64, 95% CI 1.07–2.53; AA vs. GG OR1.91, 95% CI 1.31–2.80; AG vs. GG OR1.44, 95% CI 1.09–1.91; AA+AG vs. GG OR 1.54, 95% CI 1.18–2.01;AA VS. AG+GG OR 1.79, 95% CI 1.07–3.00). Even after Bonferroni correction, the associations were observed still significantly in Asians under the two models (AA vs. GG OR1.91, 95% CI 1.31–2.80, P = 0.0008; AA+AG vs. GG OR 1.54, 95% CI 1.18–2.01, P = 0.001). Conclusion This meta-analysis indicates that IL10 ?1082 A/G polymorphism is associated with IS susceptibility in Asians and the ?1082 A allele may increase risk of IS in Asians. Considering the sample size is small and between-study heterogeneity is remarkable, more studies with subtle design are warranted in future.
Brown Adipose Tissue Can Be Activated or Inhibited within an Hour before 18F-FDG Injection: A Preliminary Study with MicroPET

Abstract: Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is emerging as a potential target for treating human obesity. It has been indicated that BAT is rich in innervations of sympathetic nerve control. Using 18F-FDG microPET imaging, this study aims at evaluating how factors related to sympathetic activation/inhibition changed BAT metabolism of mice. BAT 18F-FDG uptake were semiquantitatively evaluated in different groups of mice under temperature (cold or warm stimulus) or pharmacological interventions (norepinephrine, epinephrine, isoprenaline, or propranolol) and were compared with the corresponding controls. It was found that BAT activation can be stimulated by cold exposure (=1.96×10?4), norepinephrine (=.002), or both (=2.19×10?6) within an hour before 18F-FDG injection and can also be alleviated by warming up (=.001) or propranolol lavage (=.027). This preliminary study indicated that BAT function could be evaluated by 18F-FDG PET imaging through short-term interventions, which paved the way for further investigation of the relationship between human obesity and BAT dysfunction.
Theoretical study of adsorption and dissociation of NH3 on the Ir{110}(1×2) surface

Abstract: The adsorption and dissociation of NH3 on Ir{110}(1×2) have been investigated using the density-functional calculations at a coverage of 0.25 ML. The adsorption sites, energy, and geometries were obtained for NH3, NH2, and H adsorptions on the surface. The transition state for NH3 dissociation on Ir{110}(1×2) was also identified. It was found that NH3 is adsorbed preferentially at the ridge atop site, while NH2 and H are adsorbed at the ridge bridge site. The activation barrier of NH3 dissociation is 78.4 kJ/mol, which is very close to the NH3 adsorption energy of 90.0 kJ/mol. This indicates that the desorption and dissociation of NH3 on Ir{110}(1×2) are very competitive, which is consistent with the recent experimental results.
Index-based Online Text Classification for SMS Spam Filtering

Abstract: We proposed a novel index-based online text classification method, investigated two index models, and compared the performances of various index granularities for English and Chinese SMS message. Based on the proposed method, six individual classifiers were implemented according to various text features of Chinese message, which were further combined to form an ensemble classifier. The experimental results from English corpus show that the relevant feature among words can increase the classification confidence and the trigram co-occurrence feature of words is an appropriate relevant feature. The experimental results from real Chinese corpus show that the performance of classifier applying word-level index model is better than the one applying document-level index model. The trigram segment outperforms the exact segment in indexing, so it is not necessary to segment Chinese text exactly when indexing by our proposed method. Applying parallel multi-thread ensemble learning, our proposed method has constant time complexity, which is critical to large scale data and online filtering.

Abstract: Smyd1b is a member of the Smyd family that plays a key role in sarcomere assembly during myofibrillogenesis. Smyd1b encodes two alternatively spliced isoforms, smyd1b_tv1 and smyd1b_tv2, that are expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles and play a vital role in myofibrillogenesis in skeletal muscles of zebrafish embryos.

Abstract: Plasma proteins mediate the transport and delivery of lipids. Alterations of the lipoprotein profile present in serum are associated with the incidence of atherosclerosis. In particular, increased production of the oxidized form of the Low Density Lipoprotein (OxLDL), is thought to precede the appearance of the arterial plaques associated with atherosclerosis [1-3]. Uptake of OxLDL is enhanced in the macrophages present in an arterial plaque and can result in cholesterol accumulation and the formation of foam cells, a process that is thought to be a key event in the development of atherosclerosis [3-5], while oxLDL has been directly implicated in human disease, an understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that control the uptake and efflux of all the lipoprotein classes and their oxidized products may be central to understanding cholesterol-related diseases.Several cell surface glycoproteins, including SR-A, MARCO, CD68, CD36 and SR-B1 are designated as scavenger receptors and contribute to the uptake of modified lipoproteins [6-11]. CD36, an 88 kDa membrane glycoprotein, is found in several cell types, including platelets, monocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells [12,13], CD36 has been reported to be a multifunctional receptor and it recognizes a wide variety of ligands including OxLDL [5,10], thrombospondin [14,15], collagen [16,17], apoptotic neutrophils [18,19], Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes [20,21] and anionic phospholipids [22,23]. Further studies demonstrated that CD36 expressed in COS 7 or Sf9 cells functioned as a high affinity receptor not only for OxLDL, but also for HDL, LDL and VLDL [8,24]. Effects of Core Self-Evaluations on the Job Burnout of Nurses: The Mediator of Organizational Commitment

Abstract: Objective To explore the impact of Core self-evaluations on job burnout of nurses, and especially to test and verify the mediator role of organizational commitment between the two variables. Method Random cluster sampling was used to pick up participants sample, which consisted of 445 nurses of a hospital in Shanghai. Core self-evaluations questionnaire, job burnout scale and organizational commitment scale were administrated to the study participants. Results There are significant relationships between Core self-evaluations and dimensions of job burnout and organizational commitment. There is a significant mediation effect of organizational commitment between Core self-evaluations and job burnout. Conclusions To enhance nurses’ Core self-evaluations can reduce the incidence of job burnout.

Abstract: Based on the data from multi-disciplinary investigations in Daya Bay during the period of 1985-1986, the seasonal variations in quantity of carbon for each carbon sink were calculated and then the model for carbon cycle has been constituted. The model was used to calculate the fluxes of carbon through each cycling way in different seasons so that the retention times of carbon in different sinks were given in this paper.

Abstract: The amount of carbon in the sea region of the Zhujiang River Estuary has been calculated with thepractically surveyed data, of which are divided into four carbon reseves: hydrosphere, nonliving particle, biosphere and sediment. The carbon amount of each reserve is as follows: hydrosphere reserve is about 300×106kg; nonliving particle about 11×106 kg; biosphere reserve about 3×106kg and sediment one about 698×106 kg. In the paper, some problems on distribution of different specia-tion of carbon in the region have also been discussed.
