Universidad y currículo: nuevas perspectivas
Elisabete Pereira de Aguiar Pereira
Perfiles educativos , 2005,
International Recommendations on Calculation of Absorbed Dose in Biota: A Comprehensive Revue  [PDF]
Wagner de S. Pereira, Alphonse Kelecom
Journal of Environmental Protection (JEP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jep.2014.59077
Abstract:

Since the early times, radioprotection has been focused on the human being. Currently this approach has changed, being now also necessary to take care of the protection of the environment from unwanted effects of ionizing radiation. To this end, several institutions (UNSCEAR, ICRP, IAEA, DOE, ACRP) and consortia of institutions (FASSET, ERICA) have established procedures in order to protect the biota of such effects. Developed procedures are based on the calculation of the absorbed dose in biota (ICRP, DOE, IAEA), or on environmental risk assessment―ERA (DOE, ACRP, FASSET, ERICA); but even in this latter approach the parameters used are related to the absorbed doses in biota. The calculation of dose is the standard procedure in human radioprotection, and this points such an approach as the most interesting for providing a convergence between human and nonhuman (= biota) radioprotections. On the other hand, the ERA approach is easier to apply, because this methodology is used in several countries for non-radioactive contamination assessments. Since the world radioprotection system follows a number of institutions (UNSCEAR, ICRP, IAEA and regulatory institutions of member countries) that use dose calculation, this appears to be the way for biota radioprotection. We here review and comment the evolution of the concepts and approaches of the recommendations for radioprotection of non-human biota.

Analysis of Radium Isotopes in Surface Waters nearby a Phosphate Mining with NORM at Santa Quitéria, Brazil  [PDF]
Wagner de S. Pereira, Alphonse Kelecom, Juliana R. de S. Pereira
Journal of Environmental Protection (JEP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jep.2014.53023
Abstract:

The radium isotopes 226Ra and 228Ra were analyzed in surface water at six points in the neighborhood of a mine of phosphate, associated with uranium, in the region of Santa Quitéria, state of Ceará, Brazil. Water samples were collected during twenty months, filtered and the concentrations of activity determined in the soluble and particulate phases. The results were analyzed using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for ordination of environmental data, and also by ANOVA, Tukey and Z tests to compare sets of data considering the radionuclides, the two analyzed phases and the six collecting points. The PCA identified four groups that included all collecting points, using aggregation features such as radionuclide and analyzed phase. The first group is composed by the samples of 226Ra in the soluble phase; the second group by samples of 226Ra in the particulate phase; the third one by 228Ra in the soluble phase, and finally, the fourth group by 228Ra in the particulate phase. This last group has two discrepant points (01 and 06). Statistical analysis identified differences between the concentrations of activity of radionuclides (228Ra higher than 226Ra) and in analyzed phases (soluble phase higher than the particulate one) but showed no differences between sampled points.

Pereira, Marcelo de Andrade;
Educa??o em Revista , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-46982012000100013
Abstract: the following article presents and discusses the concept of performance. it intends to relate the meanings of performance to educational practice. as a meta-philosophical investigation this paper tries to analyze performance (making performance itself the object of investigation) considering the contributions of anthropology, theory of literature, linguistics, arts and pedagogy. to this extent this text makes an attempt to retain the meaning of pedagogical practice as based in aesthetical principles. as one might expect, the investigation takes place in the context of performance - art, communication and culture - the purpose being, to prove (justify) a theory of performance in education, because by taking the proposition of a practical performance pedagogy further, it points the way for educational action of an expressive character/nature. as well as qualitatively evaluating the aesthetic experience, and an aesthetic education, the investigation also intends to measure the teacher's communication, empirically (another words, quantitatively).
Educa??o profissional e intera??o verbal: a fun??o do verbo modal "poder" no diálogo professor-aluno
Lima, Anselmo Pereira de;
Linguagem em (Dis)curso , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-76322009000100003
Abstract: "would it be more difficult to work with adult students than with young ones?". this was the question raised and discussed by the teachers of a training center for railroad workers, which was getting ready to receive students over 18 in its classrooms for the first time. the consensus among these teachers was that the interaction with adults would be more difficult and complex. this article presents part of the results of a research whose aim was to verify to what extent the teachers were right. four classes of the same teacher, two with young students and two with adults, were recorded and transcribed. based on the bakhtinian concepts of word and of self-other relationship, and on some notions of modality, the function of the verb "poder" was analyzed in different interactions. the conclusions allowed us to question the teachers' consensus, causing the continuation of the discussion among them.
, Celso Pereira de;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822007000300002
Abstract: this article involves a recollection of several facts and texts, as well as of lived experiences, that have fed the functioning of historical memories and the construction of personal memories along the forty years of the author's academic trajectory as a student and as a professor of social psychology in rio de janeiro. through the reports of such memories, it seeks to characterize different phases and orientations in the development of social psychology in brazil, specially in its relationships with psychology and with human and social sciences, as well as to register some of the conditions - cultural, editorial, political - and individual characters that exerted influence in that academic process. under the light of those memories, it still sustains that the evaluation, appropriation and articulation of contributions originating from europe and from the united states led finally to the constitution of a brazilian social psychology that is characteristically plural, critical and opposite to rigid disciplinary borders.
, Celso Pereira de;
Psicologia: Reflex?o e Crítica , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-79722007000200015
Abstract: the article proposes a conceptual circumscription of the field of social memory according to a psychosocial perspective. firstly, one defined five basic unifying principles of the field of social memory in the manner that a social psychologist is proposed to see it. secondly, such an unity is reinforced, by taking the expression "social memory" to designate the whole set of psychosocial phenomena of "memory in society". thirdly, it is provided a mapping of the field in the seven instances of social memory with which it is believed that a social psychologist should deal.
Pereira, Ricardo de Souza;
Química Nova , 1997, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40421997000500017
Abstract: a model for the construction of a simple and cheap apparatus to be used as bioreactor for reactions catalyzed by baker's yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae) is described. the bioconversion and separation of cells from products and residual substrates are obtained at the same time. the reactions carried out in this type of reactor are faster than those catalyzed by immobilized cells. yeast cells can be cultivated in this bioreactor operating with cell recycling at appropriated conditions using glucose and other nutrients.
A dimens?o performativa do gesto na prática docente
Pereira, Marcelo de Andrade;
Revista Brasileira de Educa??o , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-24782010000300012
Abstract: the present study, in the form of an essay, argues, from a philosophical point of view, about the meaning of gestures in general and in teaching practice. the analysis proceeds from the differentiation of the meaning of the gesture from a mere motor gesture to symbolic or expressive gestures from which one perceives the proper meaning of gesture for this investigation. it is inferred that the performative, and therefore expressive, dimension of the gesture allows for the creation of a space for experimentation and construction of knowledge that is qualitatively distinct from the ordinary and not regulated by merely biological, cognitive or instrumental purposes. this perspective comprehends gesture from its performative dimension as an aesthetic act. the study describes and analyzes the contents, the objects, the conditions and the effects of the aesthetic element with regard to a performative teaching practice. the investigation is supported by the intuitions of osman lins, walter benjamin, hans ulrich gumbrecht, jean galard, baldine saint girons, among others.
Escalas e simplifica??es: exemplos em sistemas físicos e biológicos
Barros, Vicente Pereira de;
Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-11172010000100003
Abstract: in this article some examples are given where one can make use of mathematical simplification and adimensionalization procedures in physical and biological systems. the importance of this procedure is discussed in a didactic way. a simple deduction of the procedure is made in a classical mechanical system and applied aftewards to the predato-prey system.
