Preparation of Colloidal Gold Immunochromatographic Strip for Detection of Paragonimiasis skrjabini

Abstract: Background Paragonimiasis is a food-borne trematodiasis, a serious public health issue and a neglected tropical disease. Paragonimus skrjabini is a unique species found in China. Unlike paragonimiasis westermani, it is nearly impossible to make a definitive diagnosis for paragonimiasis skrjabini by finding eggs in sputum or feces. Immunodiagnosis is the best choice to detect paragonimiasis skrjabini. There is an urgent need to develop a novel, rapid and simple immunoassay for large-scale screening patients in endemic areas. Methodology/Principal Findings To develop a rapid, simple immunodiagnostic assay for paragonimiasis, rabbit anti-human IgG was conjugated to colloidal gold particles and used to detect antibodies in the sera of paragonimiasis patients. The synthesis and identification of colloidal gold particles and antibody-colloidal gold conjugates were performed. The size of colloidal gold particles was examined using a transmission electron microscope (TEM). The average diameter of colloidal gold particles was 17.46 nm with a range of 14.32–21.80 nm according to the TEM images. The formation of antibody-colloidal gold conjugates was monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy. Excretory-secretory (ES) antigen of Paragonimus skrjabini was coated on nitrocellulose membrane as the capture line. Recombinant Staphylococcus protein A was used to prepare the control line. This rapid gold immunochromatographic strip was assembled in regular sequence through different accessories sticked on PVC board. The relative sensitivity and specificity of the strip was 94.4% (51/54) and 94.1% (32/34) respectively using ELISA as the standard method. Its stability and reproducibility were quite excellent after storage of the strip at 4°C for 6 months. Conclusions/Significance Immunochromatographic strip prepared in this study can be used in a rapid one-step immunochromatographic assay, which is instantaneous and convenient.
Fast Matching Algorithm Based on Fingerprint Classification Information

Abstract: This paper focuses on fingerprint minutia matching algorithm. A special minutia neighbor structure is proposed during the matching process in this algorithm. It can locate fingerprints using the singular from classification information. In addition, minutia structure can be used to save the time of matching minutia in a simple but effective way. Then, the matching of minutia is based on the changeable sized boundary box. At the same time, possible reference position is computed to make sure the algorithm more robust to nonlinear deformation from fingerprint images. Experimental results on Fingerprint verification competition FVC2004 databases show that this algorithm can speed up the matching of fingerprint database with a preferable performance.
In vitro and in vivo antitumor effects of acetylshikonin isolated from Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst (Ruanzicao) cell suspension cultures

Abstract: The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol- 2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to determine the in vitro antitumor effects of acetylshikonin on human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549, human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line Bel-7402, human breast adenocarcinoma cell line MCF-7 and mouse Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC) cell line. C57BL/6 mice with LLC model were used to study the in vivo antitumor effects of acetylshikonin. The expression of bax, bcl-2 and caspase-3 proteins in LLC tissue was determined with immunohistochemical staining.In A549, Bel-7402, MCF-7 and LLC cell lines, acetylshikonin inhibited cell growth in a dose-dependent manner. IC50 (means ± SD) were 5.6 ± 0.86 μg/ml, 6.82 ± 1.5 μg/ml, 3.04 ± 0.44 μg/ml and 2.72 ± 0.38 μg/ml respectively. Acetylshikonin suppressed tumor growth in C57BL/6 mice with LLC. The inhibition rate of acetylshikonin (2 mg/kg) was 42.85%. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that in the acetylshikonin groups the expression of bax and caspase-3 increased, whereas the expression of bcl-2 decreased, suggesting that acetylshikonin induced tumor cell apoptosis through activating the pro-apoptotic bcl-2 family and caspase-3.Acetylshikonin isolated from Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst cell suspension cultures exhibits specific in vivo and in vitro antitumor effects.Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst (Ruanzicao), a Chinese medicinal herb that induces apoptosis and exerts antitumor effects, is used to treat inflammatory diseases and cancer [1]. Shikonin derivatives, e.g. shikonin, acetylshikonin (Figure 1), β, β-dimethyl-acrylshikonin, are active components in Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst. Natural shikonin-like compounds have in vitro inhibitory effects on malignant carcinoma cells. Zhen et al. [2] showed that shikonin induced apoptosis of human malignant melanoma A375-S2 cells via activated p53 and caspase-9 pathways. Yoon et al. On the Linear Complexity of Generalized Cyclotomic Quaternary Sequences with Length $2pq$

Abstract: In this paper, the linear complexity over $\mathbf{GF}(r)$ of generalized cyclotomic quaternary sequences with period $2pq$ is determined, where $ r $ is an odd prime such that $r \ge 5$ and $r\notin \lbrace p,q\rbrace$. The minimal value of the linear complexity is equal to $\tfrac{5pq+p+q+1}{4}$ which is greater than the half of the period $2pq$. According to the Berlekamp-Massey algorithm, these sequences are viewed as enough good for the use in cryptography. We show also that if the character of the extension field $\mathbf{GF}(r^{m})$, $r$, is chosen so that $\bigl(\tfrac{r}{p}\bigr) = \bigl(\tfrac{r}{q}\bigr) = -1$, $r\nmid 3pq-1$, and $r\nmid 2pq-4$, then the linear complexity can reach the maximal value equal to the length of the sequences.

Abstract: 本文用近年来全球网格点每日卫星微波测量数据,研究了平流层下层亮度温度场的长周期振动.对温度的两年振动、年振动及半年振动的振幅和位相分布进行了全球性的比较分析.发现长周期振动的振幅在高纬区有着显著的超长波纬向非对称的特征;在热带地区具有明显的纬向对称的特征,振幅一般在极区的大洋区最大,在副热带最小.长周期振动的位相分布在中高纬区具有由西向东和由中纬向极区传播的趋势.文中指出,对流层下层的大型涡旋热量输送向上传播的动力强迫作用可能是平流层湿度长周期振动的重要机制.

Abstract: Objective: To study the Honghua injection's therapeutic effect on hypoxia, cerebral infarction, cardiac infarction and blood circulation stagnation. Method: Using mice, Guinea pig and SD rats, models of hypoxia, cerebral infarction, cardiac infarction and blood circulation stagnation are induced, analyse the mice' life in obturating condition; measure the renewals of mice with hemiplegia; analyse Guinea pig' cardiograph at vary time; analyse the variation of the swing of S-T and T wave ; measure the index of haematological rheology. Result: the mice' resistence on hypoxia is stronger, of the three Honghua injection groups; the renewals of mice with hemiplegia increase; S-T of Os,30S,60s and T wave of Os,15s,60s ,which rised by Pituitrin, depress clearly; the blood viscosity of rat with blood circulation stagnation decrease. Conclusion: The result suggest a beneficial therapeutic effect of Honghua injection on hypoxia, cerebral infarction, cardiac infarction and blood circulation stagnation in animal.
Digital Image Watermarking Based on Mixed Error Correcting Code  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we present a novel technique based on a mixed Error Correcting Code(ECC)-the convolutional code and the repetition code to enhance the robustness of the embedded watermark. Before embedding, the binary watermark is scanned to one-dimension sequence and later inputted into the (3, 1, 2) convolutional encoder and (3, 1) repetition encoder frame by frame, which will improve the error correcting capability of decoder. The output code sequence is scanned to some matrixes as the new watermark messages. The watermarking is selected in low frequency band of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and therefore it can resist the destruction of image processing. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate that the robustness of a watermark with mixed ECC is much higher than the traditional one just with repetition coding while suffering JPEG lossy compression, salt and pepper noise and center cutting processing.

Abstract: In this paper, we study some semi-closed 1-set-contractive operators A and investigate the boundary conditions under which the topological degrees of 1-set contractive fields, deg (I-A, Ω, p) are equal to 1. Correspondingly, we can obtain some new fixed point theorems for 1-set-contractive operators which extend and improve many famous theorems such as the Leray-Schauder theorem, and operator equation, etc. Lemma 2.1 generalizes the famous theorem. The calculation of topological degrees and index are important things, which combine the existence of solution of for integration and differential equation and or approximation by iteration technique. So, we apply the effective modification of He’s variation iteration method to solve some nonlinear and linear equations are proceed to examine some a class of integral-differential equations, to illustrate the effectiveness and convenience of this method.
