Prediction and Analysis of Society’s Networks  [PDF]

According to the information theory model, I use the qualitative analysis to explain the information flows through the media channel become news. Besides, I make use of a pyramid model to expound the relationship among each media. I combine the information theory model into the prediction process, taking advantage of curve fitting and listing out different ratios of media capacities. Finally I get the small relative error between the fitting result and the reality. Based on the ELM model, I classify the information in two ways on the basis of the four specific factors. By taking the influence degree of public opinion into account, I quantify the factors with different ratios to determine how they could be used in information spreading.
Study on Retranslation of Literature Works from Acceptance Theory

Abstract: Acceptance theory considers that text is open and indefinite and different readers have different comprehension and interpretation. This essay tries to investigate the process of literature translation and analyses the causes and necessity of the retranslation of literature works from the aspect of both translators and readers. In the meantime, it looks into the criticism of traditional translation theory and the instructive importance of specific translation practice. Key words: acceptance theory, literature translation, retranslation Résumé: La théorie d'acceptation considère que le texte est ouvert et indéfini et les différents lecteurs ont la compréhension et l'interprétation différentes. Cet essai essaye d'étudier le processus de la traduction de littérature et analyse les causes et la nécessité du retraduction de la literature travaux de l'aspect des traducteurs et des lecteurs. En attendant, il examine la critique de la théorie traditionnelle de traduction et l'importance instructive de la pratique en traduction spécifique. Stepwise Confidence Interval Method for MTD Studies with Binomial Populations  [PDF]

Now we extend one method into a sequence of binomial data, propose a stepwise confidence interval method for toxic-ity study, and also in our paper, two methods of constructing intervals for the risk difference are proposed. The first one is based on the well-known conditional confidence intervals for odds ratio, and the other one comes from Santner“small-sample confidence intervals for the difference of two success probabilities”, and it produces exact intervals, through employing our method.

Abstract: The evaluation problem with three-parameter interval grey number (T-PIGN) widely exists in real world. To select effective evaluation indicators of the problem, this paper puts forward evaluation index system selection principle of T-PIGN based on distance entropy model, and gives out evaluation index system selection judgment criterion of T-PIGN. Furthermore, for the redundancy of evaluation index system with T-PIGN, a selection method of evaluation index system with T-PIGN is proposed. Finally, the applicability of the proposed method is verified by concrete examples.

Abstract: As online trade and interactions on the internet are on the rise, a key issue is how to use simple and effective evaluation methods to accomplish trust decision-making for customers. It is well known that subjective trust holds uncertainty like randomness and fuzziness. However, existing approaches which are commonly based on probability or fuzzy set theory can not attach enough importance to uncertainty. To remedy this problem, a new quantifiable subjective trust evaluation approach is proposed based on the cloud model. Subjective trust is modeled with cloud model in the evaluation approach, and expected value and hyper-entropy of the subjective cloud is used to evaluate the reputation of trust objects. Our experimental data shows that the method can effectively support subjective trust decisions and provide a helpful exploitation for subjective trust evaluation.
A method for rapid similarity analysis of RNA secondary structures

Abstract: Three sets of real data have been used as input for the example applications. Set I includes the structures from 5S rRNAs. Set II includes the secondary structures from RNase P and RNase MRP. Set III includes the structures from 16S rRNAs. Reasonable phylogenetic trees are derived for these three sets of data by using our method. Moreover, our program runs faster as compared to some existing ones.The famous Lempel-Ziv algorithm can efficiently extract the information on repeated patterns encoded in RNA secondary structures and makes our method an alternative to analyze the similarity of RNA secondary structures. This method will also be useful to researchers who are interested in evolutionary analysis.RNA secondary structures play an important role in determining the functions of RNA molecules. Some of them have been accepted as good data for evolutionary analysis. With the completion of the sequencing of the genomes of human and other species, major structural biology resources have been harnessed to predict functions. More and more RNA structures are accumulated and we know little about their functions. This calls for the development of cost-effective computational methods to predict RNA functions, which will provide preliminary information for biologists and guide biological experiments. Earlier studies usually adopt dynamic programming algorithms and tree models. Shapiro et al [1] proposed to compare RNA secondary structures by using tree models. Hofacker et al [2] compared RNA secondary structures by aligning the corresponding base pairing probability matrices that were computed by McCaskill's partition function algorithm [3]. Because these methods rely on dynamic programming algorithms, they are compute-intensive. Constructing tree models is based on the idea that the stems or helices dominantly stabilize the secondary structures. Abstract: TobaccoNicotiana tabacum L. is a host plant ofHelicoverpa armigera (Hübner),Helicoverpa assulta Guenée andSpodoptera litura (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae). The difference in leaf nicotine response to the feeding by these three larvae and the mechanical simulation of their feeding was examined by HPLC. Results indicated that nicotine induction was suppressed byH. armigera andH. assulta larvae feeding or by simulated damage treated with their labial glands extracts. The production of nicotine was also suppressed by the glucose oxidase fromAspergillus niger when it was treated on mechanically wounded leaf area. On the contrary, the nicotine production was stimulated byS. litura larva feeding or by simulated damage treated with its labial gland extract. Heat denature can not counteract the stimulation effect of theS. litura labial gland extracts to tobacco nicotine production. The glucose oxidase activity was detected in labial gland extracts of bothH. armigera andH. assulta, but the activity inH. armigera was significantly higher than that inH. assulta. No glucose oxidase activity was detected in labial gland extracts ofS. litura. It is shown that the glucose oxidase activity in labial glands of caterpillars plays an important role in the nicotine response to herbivory. The glucose oxidase was mainly contained in the labial gland ofH. armigera larva, and had the highest activity at pH 7.0. D-Glucose was the optimal substrate of the glucose oxidase. Labial gland glucose oxidase activities varied daily during larval development with high activities found when larvae were actively feeding.
