A Low-Cost, Smart AC Charging System for Electric Vehicle  [PDF]

Abstract: In industry development strategy of electric vehicles, apart from concerns on the development of electric vehicles, we also need to consider the issue of charging facilities construction. Firstly, through analysis, this paper discusses the importance of AC charging points for electric vehicle development. By studying existing AC charging points on the market, it presents a low-cost smart AC charging system to reduce the cost investigated by power companies and operational bodies when laying of a large number of AC charging points. Compared with the conventional one, the proposed system has prominent features of low cost, small footprint and low investment.

Abstract: Not similar with the current interest on collaboration networks research, the focus in this paper is competition networks. The topology of a firm competition network has been investigated empirically and theoretically. We have found that four fundamental characteristics emerge simultaneously in the competition network, including hierarchical modularity, positive degree correlation, power-law degree distribution and self-similarity. The theoretical model we proposed can predict these structural patterns successfully. The obtained results are significant for further network analysis of the omnipresent competitive phenomena.
Optimum Design of Tilt Angle and Horizontal Direction of Solar Collectors under Obstacle’s Shadow for Building Applications  [PDF]

Abstract: Solar collectors can provide clean, renewable, and domestic energy. The tilt angle and horizontal direction of solar collectors significantly affect its efficiency. There are many good methods to search the optimum tilt angle and horizontal direction to realize the maximum total radiation on the solar collector within a particular day or a specific period. However, it is hard to realize it when solar collectors are placed under obstacle’s shadows; especially when some obstacles, such as trees, have irregular shapes. This paper presents algorithms to achieve the best tilt angle and horizontal direction for solar collector’s performance under the free-form surfaces 3D obstacle’s shadow. The solution process is composed of 4 steps. First, it creates a 3D scene, in which a unique color is given to the solar collector. Second, it employs orthographic projection from the point of view to get an image of the scene. Third, the number of pixels is used to represent the efficiency of the solar collector by counting the pixels of the unique color. Fourth, the efficiency of solar collector in each direction in a period of time is calculated with many images to further select the best direction.
Normality of the Stock Index Futures of China  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we test the null hypothesis that the prices of stock index futures of China follow a random-walk process. Five hypothesis tests are applied to test the random-walk hypothesis (RWH). Each test uses both inter-day and intra-day returns. Compared with inter-day analysis, test results on intra-day data can describe the movements of intra-day markets more effectively, because intra-day analysis eliminates overnight news propagation, thus generating more precise conclusions on the intra-day market for intra-day traders. Three out of the five tests reject the RWH, whereas the other two cannot reject the RWH. Overall, the market is not fully efficient.
Mechanism and Algorithm for Indirect Schema Mapping Composition

Abstract: There are a large number of indirect schema mappings between peers in the network. To improve the efficiency of data exchange and queries, indirect mappings are needed to be composed. Direct mappings can be derived directly by the constraints defined between schemas, but not for indirect mappings’ composition. Defined the combination operations of schema elements in indirect mappings, and gave the expression of indirect mappings. Analyzed the composition of indirect mappings, and proposed a strategy, named schema element back, to solve the problem of indirect mapping composition, and gave the indirect mapping composition generation algorithm based on such strategy. Experiments showed that indirect mapping composition can improve the efficiency of data exchange, and compared with other non-full mapping composition generation algorithms, and indirect mapping composition generated by our algorithm based on schema element back strategy can completely eliminate the infection of media schema with no reduction of the composition efficiency.

Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C8H6N5O2)2(H2O)2], was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of ZnBr2 with 2-[5-(2-pyridyl)-2H-tetrazol-2-yl]acetic acid. The ZnII atom lies on an inversion center in a distorted octahedral environment with two planar trans-related N,N′-chelating 2-[5-(2-pyridyl)-2H-tetrazol-2-yl]acetic acid ligands in the equatorial plane and two water molecules in the axial positions. In the crystal, O—H...O hydrogen bonds generate an infinite three-dimensional network.

Abstract: The title compound, [CuCl2(C6H5N5)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of CuCl2 with 3-(2H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine. The CuII cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two Cl ions, two N atoms from two 5-(3-pyridinio)tetrazolate zwitterions and two O atoms from two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal, molecules are linked into a two-dimensional sheet parallel to (001) by N—H...N, O—H...N, O—H...O and O—H...Cl hydrogen bonds involving the pyridinium N atom, the Cl atoms and the coordinated and free water molecules. The latter are disordered over two positions in a 0.54:0.46 ratio.
