Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-35982012000100007
Abstract: the objective of this study was to proceed with an initial evaluation of various strains of white oats (avena sativa, l.), with the objective of characterizing the genetic diversity and the agronomic performance, identifying the promising genotypes for the release of cultivars, with the purpose of forage production. the experiments were conducted in two geographical regions of the state of rio grande do sul, depress?o central and in the campanha gaúcha, brazil, in the years 2008 and 2009, in a randomized block design with four replications. each plot consisted of a 2-m line, with lines spaced at 40 cm. the central linear meter was considered as useful plot, cut to a height of 10 cm. twenty-one oat lines were evaluated, plus the control (ipr126). in the first year, two strains of triticale were also studied, and had a low potential for forage and were excluded from the experiments in the second year. the productive potential of oat strains did not differ for the interaction of location, year or lineage, with the first year of average production in the depress?o central and campanha gaúcha, of, 82 3 and 76.3 grams per meter of total dry matter (tdm), respectively. at the second year evaluation, the means of production for this species in the depress?o central and campanha gaúcha were 80.0 and 119.8 g m-1 tdm. most strains of oats present good results and are promising for the breeding program of this species.
Utiliza??o de microssatélites e RAPD na caracteriza??o molecular de acessos de Paspalum urvillei Steudel
Sawasato, Joaquim Taizo;Dall'Agnol, Miguel;Concei??o, Daniele Priscila da;Tafernaberri Junior, Vilmar;Klafke, Gabriel Baracy;
Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-35982008000800005
Abstract: the aim of this study was to estimate the genetic diversity among accesses of p. urvillei of departamento de plantas forrageiras e agrometeorologia (dpfa) of the college of agronomy - ufrgs and to evaluate their use in selection programs. sixty four accesses from different cities of the southern region of brazil (rio grande do sul, santa catarina and parana states) and from argentine were analyzed by rapd and ssr molecular markers. ten primers of rapd markers were used and resulted in 56 polymorphic bands and 11 groups in a dendrogram with average similarity 0.70. seven primers were used for the ssr technique and resulted in 28 polymorphic bands and seven groups in a dendrogram with average similarity 0.66. both markers were efficient on grouping the accesses collected across the southern region. a large number of primers was required to generate additional polymorphic bands to get genomic fingerprints of similar individuals. the dendrograms obtained from this study provided significant information for designing crossing strategies of parental generations in breeding programs of p. urvillei.

Abstract: the aim of this work was to select higher yielding and persistent genotypes, evaluating their progenies agronomically. the dm yield of 22 progenies compared with the population of ufrgs-2004-2 and with the jacuí cultivar of white clover mixed with ryegrass (lolium multiflorum lam.), during the years 2008 and 2009 was evaluated. the average dm yield of white clover during the two years was 3671 and 2107 kg/ha, in eldorado do sul and bagé, respectively. in eldorado do sul and bagé the jacuí cultivar with thirteen more progenies formed groups with higher production. seven progenies were in the group "a" in both places, whereas only the population of ufrgs and one progeny had lower production in both sites, with genotype × environment interaction. progenies 2, 6 and 7 from bage and 22 (ethiopia), 23 (portugal), 24 (united states) and 30 (ireland), can be utilized in the creation of a more productive and synthetic cultivar, in addition to being more resistant to summer conditions.
O igualitarismo liberal de Dworkin
Dall'Agnol, Darlei;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2005000100005
Abstract: this paper sorts out the main elements in dworkin's political philosophy here called "liberal igualitarianism." to reach this aim, it reconstructs his conception of law and his understanding of the citizens' most fundamental right to equal respect and concern. moreover, it analyzes his attempt to reconcile this formal equality, as well as a more substantial equality, with freedom
Wave propagation in a non-uniform string
Dall'Agnol, Fernando Fuzinatto;
Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-11172011000400006
Abstract: in this article i present the behavior of the reflection and transmission coefficients of a pulse at a joint between two strings with mass densities μ1and μ2. the joint is made of a string segment with mass density varying linearly from μ1 to μ2. it will be shown that the reflection of the pulse at the joint depends largely on the ratio between the pulse width and the length of the joint. analogies with other physical systems such as antireflection coatings and tsunamis will be considered briefly.
Pressupostos metaéticos e normativos para uma nova ética Ambiental
Darlei DallAgnol
Princípios : Revista de Filosofia , 2007,
Abstract: This paper deals with the meta-ethical and normative assumptions for a new environmental ethics. Particularly, it tries to show that the realistic meta-ethics about intrinsic value underlying many of the writings of the so-called “deep ecology” is flawed. It presents, then, a different conceptual analysis of intrinsic value and sorts out its normative and practical implications for an ethics concerned with the environment.

Quine and Wittgenstein: The End of Analytic Philosophy?
Darlei Dall'Agnol
Principia : an International Journal of Epistemology , 2003,
Abstract: This paper deals with the question whether science and philosophy are continuous, as Quine thought, or whether they are completely separated, as Wittgenstein held. Reconstructing the reasons why the latter kept a sharp distinction between science and philosophy, it examines the attempts of the former to resolve philosophical problems in scientific terms. It maintains that Quine’s scientism is misconceived and presents further reasons for making a distinction (if not a separation) between science and philosophy.

Abnormal Returns and Contrarian Strategies
Marco Bonomo,Ivana Dall'Agnol
Revista Brasileira de Finan?as , 2003,
Abstract: We test the hypothesis that strategies which are long on portfolios of looser stocks and short on portfolios of winner stocks generate abnormal returns in Brazil. This type of evidence for the US stock market was interpreted by The Bondt and Thaler (1985) as reflecting systematic evaluation mistakes caused by investors overreaction to news related to the firm performance. We found evidence of contrarian strategies profitability for horizons from 3 months to 3 years in a sample of stock returns from BOVESPA and SOMA from 1986 to 2000. The strategies are more profitable for shorter horizons. Therefore, there was no trace of the momentum effect found by Jagadeesh and Titman (1993) for the same horizons with US data. There are remaing unexplained positive returns for contrarian strategies after accounting for risk, size, and liquidity. We also found that the strategy profitability is reduced after the Real Plan, which suggests that the Brazilian stock market became more efficient after inflation stabilization.
