Engers, Maria Emilia Amaral,Gomes, Vanise dos Santos
Educa??o , 2007,

Westphal, Fernando Luiz;Lima, Luís Carlos de;Santana, Luiz Carlos Lopes;Netto, José Corrêa Lima;Amaral, Vanise Campos Gomes;Silva, Márcia dos Santos da;
Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-37132010000600020
Abstract: castleman's disease is an atypical lymphoproliferative disorder of unknown etiology, which might be associated with various clinical conditions, including autoimmune diseases and malignant neoplasms. we report the case of a 72-year-old female patient who was referred to the thoracic surgery department of getúlio vargas university hospital, in the city of manaus, brazil, for the resection of a posterior mediastinal tumor. three months prior, the patient had been admitted to the icu with signs of severe dyspnea, at which time she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. after the resection of the mediastinal tumor, the histopathological examination revealed hyaline vascular-type castleman's disease, complicated by follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. at this writing, the patient was being treated with an anticholinesterase agent and corticosteroids for the control of myasthenia gravis.
Electron-Domain Wall Interaction with a Ferromagnetic Spherical Domain Wall  [PDF]
Leonardo dos Santos Lima
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2016.713148
Abstract: The interaction between an electron with a three-dimensional domain wall was investigated using the Born’s expansion of the S scattering matrix. We obtain an influence of the scattering of the electron with the ferromagnetic domain wall in the spin wave function of the electron with the aim to generate the knowledge about the state of the electron spin after the scattering. It relates to the recent problem of generation of the spin polarized electric current. We also obtain the contribution of the electron-wall domain interaction on the electric conductivity \"\", through the wall domain, where we have obtained a peak of resonance in the conductivity for one value of \"\" .
An Empirical Model for Dinitrogen Gas Emission from Inland Waters  [PDF]
Elizabeth Sikar, Marco Aurelio dos Santos, Ednaldo Oliveira dos Santos
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2019.91001
Abstract: The motivation to calculate this empirical model resulted from often observing—at the time disconcerting—excess dinitrogen gas (N2 concentration > background concentration) in bubble-gas emission samples, collected primarily for the purpose of carbon budget research, from Brazilian rivers and reservoirs sampled during roughly 100 field surveys lasting 4 days each on average and executed between years 2000 and 2012. We model the (serendipitously) measured dinitrogen gas above environmental concentration (N2aec) escaping in bubbles from Brazilian rivers as a function of dissolved nitrogen (N) in water. To this model, we mathematically add a pre-existing model of diffusively emitted denitrified dinitrogen (also as a function of dissolved N) from streams in the United States of America (USA). The resulting model predicts denitrified dinitrogen water-air emission from inland waters in the USA, China and Germany.
O ensino de recrea o: repensando algumas práticas
Edmilson Santos dos Santos
Movimento , 2001,
Abstract: Thispaper aims at analyzing the topics by which the books which suggest practical activities in recreation justify certain procedures and authorize certain academic practices as valid. To reach this result 22 books dealing with child recreation were analyzed. The strategies used by experimental literature to build truth on the discipline of Recreation are subjected to the separation between theory and practice, the backing up of the child's heteronomy and the simplification of reality.
Application of Extended Multiplicative Signal Correction to Short-Wavelength near Infrared Spectra of Moisture in Marzipan  [PDF]
Pedro dos Santos Panero, Francisco dos Santos Panero, Jo?o dos Santos Panero, Henrique Eduardo Bezerra da Silva
Journal of Data Analysis and Information Processing (JDAIP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jdaip.2013.13005
Abstract: Short-wavelength near infrared spectroscopy (SW-NIR) is a very rapid, versatile and precise technique, which can be used in many different situations and for very types of products and chemical compounds. Extended multiplicative signal correction (EMSC) is a modification of the standard MSC pre-processing method that allows the separation of physical light scattering effects from chemical (vibrational) light absorbance effects in spectra. In this paper, the EMSC is applied and compared with first derivate, second derivate, MSC and SNV in combination of PLSR to obtain robust models in terms of accuracy and predict ability with a reduced calibration data set using SW-NIR spectra of moisture in marzipan. The Extended Multiplicative Signal Correction—EMSC and combination methods provide the best results in terms of prediction ability and calibration SW-NIR spectra of moisture in marzipan. The best classification results were obtained by Extended Multiplicative Signal Correction followed by second derivates.
Social Protection in a Matching Model: The Case of Basic Income  [PDF]
Samir Amine, Pedro Lages Dos Santos
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2012.21005
Abstract: Faced with increasing poverty and the relative inefficiency of their redistribution systems, many countries are turning to new instruments of social policy. Many economists found there an opportunity to present the mechanism of basic income as the new way forward by the modern social protection. We show that, in a matching model with differentiation agents, the introduction of the basic income has no effect on the balance of the labor market.
More than Just a Game: The Power of Social Media on Super Bowl XLVI  [PDF]
Fernanda Bruno dos Santos, Jonice Oliveira
Social Networking (SN) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/sn.2014.32018
Abstract:

The evolution of social media in the recent years promoted the appearance of a new category: social media based on check-in. It enables the user to define their identity through information sharing. This paper aims to show the evolution of these media highlighting the effects and changes they cause in society through Super Bowl XLVI scenario, besides indicating the important role they have for the companies and marketing.

Land Use Change Trajectories for Wetland Management (Mogi-Gua?u Floodplan River, Southern Brazil)  [PDF]
Angela Terumi Fushita, José Eduardo dos Santos
Journal of Geoscience and Environment Protection (GEP) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/gep.2017.510006
Abstract: Natural and anthropogenic factors are responsible for changes in wetland function and structure. This research deals with the complexity of interactions among flood attributes, climatic data and land use trajectories to track the impact of land use changes for wetland management, over 30 years (1984- 2014). This paper presents a multi-temporal analysis of a floodplain to know the inter-annual ecohydrological variability, including extraordinary events of floods and droughts, using indicators of hydrological regime. It also presents a quantitative description of the geospatial variability in the Mogi Guaçu wetland components to assess the changes in the conversion, replacement, of wetland landscapes by anthropic growth activities. Flood attributes and anthropogenic pressures have altered temporal habitat variability in changes on the river course, in sandbars extent, and oxbow lake genesis and extinction, with a decline in the biota dependent on these habitats. These results have significant implications of the quick expansion of anthropogenic activities and provide key information about the impact of land use changes on the wetland function and structure. It is an objective tool to help the environmental management of wetland areas.
