On the Interpretation of the 'Extra' Variables in the Hurwitz Transformation

Abstract: The Hurwits transformation is generalized by introducing three new variables called 'extra'. Interpretation of these extra variables allows us to establish relation between isotropic harmonic oscillator and five-dimensional hydrogen-like atom in 'electromagnetic' fields of various configurations. For the Schrodinger equations, the scheme of separation of extra variables is suggested.

Abstract: Contributions of flavour-changing neutral currents in the 3 3 1 model with right-handed neutrinos to mass difference of the neutral meson system $\Delta m_P (P = K, D, B)$ are calculated. Using the Fritzsch anzats on quark mixing, we show that the third family should be different from the first two. We obtain a lower bound on mass of the new heavy neutral gauge boson as 1.02 TeV.

Abstract: This research is to identify and assess the factors that impact an employee’s satisfaction in work. The company selected for this research is a leading garment company of the Vietnamese textile and garment industry. With the survey and analyzing the opinion of 318 workers, the research results indicated six groups of elements (variables) in work which have impacted on the staff’s satisfaction: wages and welfare, working conditions, relations with superiors, relations with colleagues, training and promotion opportunities, nature of work. These six-factor groups were measured by 27 observed variables. The analysis and evaluation of factors affect the satisfaction of employees in order to contribute practically to the setting up and implementation of effective measures to enhance job satisfaction for employees, create motivate labor and bring the higher labor productivity.
Rare Kaon Decay K^+ --> π^+ ν\barν in SU(3)_C X SU(3)_L X U(1)_N Models

Abstract: The rare kaon decay K^+ --> \pi^+ \nu \bar{\nu} is considered in the framework of the models based on the SU(3)_C X SU(3)_L X U(1)_N (3 - 3 - 1) gauge group. It is shown that a lower bound of the Z' mass in the 3 - 3 - 1 model with right-handed neutrinos at a value of 3 TeV is derived, while that in the minimal version -- 1.7 TeV.

Abstract:
Oligochitosan (OC) with molecular weight Mw of 5000 g/mol was prepared by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of chitosan solution. Nanosilica (nSiO2) with the size of 10 - 30 nm was synthesized by calcination of acid treated rice husk. The mixture of 1% OC - 1% nSiO2 was prepared by dispersion of nSiO2 in OC solution. The morphology of nSiO2 in the mixture of OC-nSiO2 was measured from images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effect of foliar application of the mixture of OC-nSiO2 on the induction of resistance against anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus on chili fruits was investigated. Results indicated that foliar application of OC-nSiO2 with the concentration of 60 mg/l - 60 mg/l was found to be as the optimal treatment that reduced the disease severity on chili fruits to 22.2% compared with 90.0% of the control. Thus, OC-nSiO2 hybrid material could be considered as an effective biotic elicitor to prevent anthracnose disease infection for chili fruits. Furthermore, the prepared OC-nSiO2 hybrid material can also be used as an environmentally friendly agrochemical product for sustainable development of agriculture.
Determinants of antiretroviral treatment adherence among HIV/AIDS patients: a multisite study

Abstract: Introduction: Adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) is vital in achieving virological treatment success. This study assessed the prevalence of optimal ART adherence and its determinants among HIV/AIDS patients in Vietnam. Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 1,016 HIV/AIDS patients at seven hospitals and health centers providing antiretroviral treatment services in three provinces, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh City. Self-reported medication adherence was measured using a 30-day visual analog scale (VAS) and 7-day missed-doses questions. Results: The mean adherence VAS-score was 94.5 out of 100 (SD=8.2), ranging from 40 to 100%. The rate of suboptimal adherence was 25.9%. The rate of missed-doses was 25.2%. In multivariate analysis, increased perceived self-efficacy, use of mobile phone alarms, and reminders from family members were associated with optimal adherence; higher CD4 level, single status, and unstable employment were associated with suboptimal adherence. Conclusion: High rate of suboptimal adherence observed in this study highlights the importance of adherence support interventions during ART. The use of mobile phone reminders, involvement of relatives, and HIV self-management training programs have the potential to improve ART adherence in Vietnam.
Magnetic Properties of FePt Nanoparticles Prepared by Sonoelectrodeposition

Abstract: Sonoelectrodeposition is a useful technique to make metallic nanoparticles, using ultrasound during electrodeposition to remove nanoparticles as they grow on the cathode surface. This paper reports some structural and magnetic properties of FePt nanoparticles prepared by this method. The as-prepared Fe45Pt55 nanoparticles were ferromagnetic at room temperature. Upon annealing at 700°C for 1 h under H2 atmosphere, the saturation magnetization and the coercivity of the nanoparticles were improved significantly. The annealed nanoparticles showed a high coercivity of 13.5 kOe at 2 K and of 9 kOe at room temperature. Sonoelectrodeposition is a promising technique to make large quantity of FePt nanoparticles.
Pattern of smoking cessation and its associated factors in Vietnam  [PDF]

Abstract: Background: Even though the number of research on tobacco in Vietnam has recently increased rapidly, there remains a lack of reporting on the pattern of quit smoking and its correlates. It is necessary to have scientific evidence on this issue to help the policy makers and the Public Health sector to have appropriate intervention program to enhance the smoke cessation smoke program and improve the health status of the smokers. This study aims to: (1) Describe the pattern of smoking cessation in Vietnam 2010. (2) Examine the association between smoking cessation with some associated factors in Vietnam 2010. Methods: Data used in this paper were obtained from the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) conducted in Vietnam in 2010. A total of 11,142 households were selected for this survey using a two-phase sampling design analogous to a three-stage stratified cluster sampling. Both descriptive and analytical statistical analyses were carried out. Multivariate logistic regression modeling was performed to examine the association between the patterns of quit daily; quit smoke; attempt to quit and intend to quit among smokers with relevant factors. Results: The prevalence of the different type of cessation among male and female were 23.3% and 28.6% for quit daily; 19.1% and 1.0% for quit; 55.6% and 44.4% for attempt to quit and 29.6% and 19.3% for intend to quit respectively. The prevalence of quit daily and quit increased with age whereas attempt to quit decreased with age. Prevalence of cessation was highest among the group who were asked about smoking tobacco by health care providers. Some determinants of quit daily and quit include age, area, and knowledge of illnesses caused by smoking. There was no association between attempt and intend to quit with any socio-characteristic except for area. People in rural area were 2.1 and 1.7 times more likely attempt to quit and intend to quit than those in urban area, respectively. Conclusion: The GATS Vietnam 2010 showed that the prevalence of cessation in Vietnam was low. Quit daily and quit had association with age, area, knowledge about the top three consequences of smoke. People in rural area were 2.1 and 1.7 times more likely attempt to quit and intend to quit than those in urban area, respectively.
Effects of AminoethoxyVinylGlycine (AVG) Spraying Time at Preharvest Stage to Ethylene Biosynthesis of Cavendish Banana (Musa AAA)

Abstract: This research aimed to identify the possible effects of the moment of Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) application during near harvest period on ethylene biosynthesis and find out the most appropriate possible way to control the process for maximum prolonging the postharvest shelf - life of bananas. Results indicated that the most appropriate moment of AVG application is from the 74th to 78th days after formation of the last hand of a bunch has been finished as AVG showed some inhibition effects on ACC, ACC oxydase and ethylene synthesis. ACC, ACC oxydase and ethylene production of the fruits sprayed with AVG of 0.8 g/l on the 78th day, harvested and stored at 13±1oC for four weeks were 1.09 (nmol C2H4.g-1), 0.44 (nmol C2H4.g-1.h-1) and 0.11 (?l C2H4.kg-1.h-1) respectively while the ACC, ACC oxydase and ethylene production of non - treated fruits stored in the same conditions were 6.89 (nmol C2H4.g-1), 2.18 (nmol C2H4.g-1.h-1) and 1.48 (?l C2H4.kg-1.h-1) respectively.
Bounds on masses of new gauge bosons in the 3 - 3 -1 models

Abstract: Contribution from new gauge bosons in the 3 - 3 - 1 models to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, mass difference of the kaon system and rare kaon decay are calculated and numerically estimated. Bounds on masses of new gauge bosons: bileptons and Z' are derived.
