Regional Geochemical Characteristics and Influence Factors of Soil Elements in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone, China  [PDF]

Abstract: Soil heavy metal pollution is one of the main environmental problems in Pearl River Delta EconomicZone of China. Based on multi-purpose regional geochemical survey, regional eco-geochemical assessment, local eco-geochemical assessment and comprehensive appraisal, the eco-geochemical survey and assessment in Pearl River Delta Economic Zone of 41,698 km2were completed. Samples from soils were collected in accordance with the two-layer grid method. Totally 54 elements and indicators for soils were determined. Compared to deep soils, the sampled surface soils are enriched in OrgC, N, P, Cd, SHg, Ag, B, Au, S and poor with As, Ni, I, Co, Cr, V, MgO, Sc, Al2O3, Fe2O3etc. The characteristics of geochemical reference value of element in soil that inherited soil parent material and regional elements combined features reflected that the elements enriched in the soil was interrelated with acid rock, sandstone and shale. The spatial distribution characteristics of element regional geochemistry were conditional by regional environmental geological conditionsand effected by human activities. Role of Character Strengths and Stress in Psychological Symptoms among Chinese Secondary Vocational School Students  [PDF]

Abstract: Background: Character strengths are important psychology resources, which affect the academic and social development of students at secondary vocational schools. Purpose: We aimed to clarify the relationship between character strengths, psychological stress, and psychological symptoms among these students from a positive psychological perspective. By focusing on virtues and strengths, we suggest improvements to school education and family upbringing. Sample: A total of 282 secondary vocational school students were recruited. Design and Method: Students were asked to complete the Chinese Virtues Questionnaire, Life Stress Rating Scale, and Symptom Checklist-90. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 19.0. Results: Regression analyses indicated that the interaction between relationship strengths and family stress explained 45% of the variance in psychological symptoms. This study clarified the positive role of character strengths in stressful situations. Thus, helping secondary vocational school students recognize and use their strengths is conducive to improving their health. Conclusion: Our results should also help teachers and parents adopt a strengths perspective, which might encourage students to explore and develop their strengths.

Abstract: During the diffusion of information on the network, the users generally have such an experience that at the beginning they get aware of the news they never know and may be willing to inform others, then their interests fade away, finally the information stops flowing. Meantime, their points of view are changing as the networks’ structure changes. Therefore, this article brings in the interest attenuation mechanism and the social networks consensus evolution mechanism on the basic of the improved SEIR model. So to begin with, we establish a model to analyze how users’ interests change during the diffusion of information on the network. Second we establish another model to analyze the evolution of the opinion during the diffusion of information on the network. At last, we establish a final model by using dynamic equations adding the results of the two models above.

Abstract: In this paper, the self-localization problem is studied. It is one of the key technologies in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). And five localization algorithms: Centroid algorithm, Amorphous algorithm, DV-hop algorithm, APIT algorithm and Bounding Box algorithm are discussed. Simulation of those five localization algorithms is done by MATLAB. The simulation results show that the positioning error of Amorphous algorithm is the minimum. Considering economy and localization accuracy, the Amorphous algorithm can achieve the best localization performance under certain conditions.

Abstract: This article investigates the potential mediating role of work engagement/job burnout in the relationships of leader’s verbal communication style and job satisfaction. Results suggest that autocratic verbal communication style leads to low job satisfaction. To the contrary, supportive verbal communication style results in high job satisfaction. Furthermore, work engagement plays an intermediating role between leader’s verbal communication style and job satisfaction. Although job burnout plays a mediation role between autocratic verbal communication style and job satisfaction, the mechanism is non-existent between supportive verbal communication style and job satisfaction. The article revealed the significance of leader’s verbal communication style, as well as the diversities, which affected job satisfaction and thus influenced job performance.

Research on the Collision-Free Path Planning of Multi-AGVs System Based on Improved A* Algorithm  [PDF]

Abstract: Path planning problem is the core and hot research topic of multiple Automatic Guided Vehicles (multi-AGVs) system. Although there are many research results, they do not solve the path planning problem from the perspective of reducing traffic congestion. A collision-free path planning method based on improved A* Algorithm for multi-AGVs logistics sorting system is proposed in this paper. In the method, the environment of warehouse operation for AGVs is described by using grid method. The estimated cost of A* algorithm is improved by adding the penalty value of the paths that AGVs share with each other to alleviate traffic congestion and collision resolution rules are made according to different types of collisions. Then the collision-free path planning is done by combing the improved A* algorithm and collision resolution rules. The sorting efficiency of the method is compared with that of original A* algorithm. Simulation results show that the new collision-free path planning method can improve the sorting efficiency of multi-AGVs system and relieve traffic congestion.
The effect of picroside II on the expressions of AQP4, MMP9 and COX2 in cerebral ischemic injury in rats  [PDF]

The aim is to study the neuroprotective effect and optimize the therapeutic dose and time window of picrosede II by orthogonal test in cerebral ischemic injury in rats. The forebrain ischemia models of rats were established by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAO) methods. The successful models were randomly grouped according to orthogonal experimental design and treated by injecting picroside II intraperitonenally with different therapeutic dose at different ischemic time. The contents of aquaporins 4 (AQP4), matrix metalloproteinases 9 (MMP 9) and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2) in brain tissue were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay to evaluate the therapeutic effect of picroside II on cerebral ischemic injury. The results indicated that the best therapeutic time window and dose of picroside II in cerebral ischemic injury should be 1) ischemia 1.5 h with 20 mg/kg body weight according to the content of AQP4; 2) ischemia 2.0 h with 20 mg/kg according to the content of MMP9; and 3) ischemia 1.5 h with 20 mg/kg according to the content of COX2 inbrain tissue. It is concluded that the optimized therapeutic dose and time window is injecting picroside II peritonenally with 10 - 20 mg/kg body weight at ischemia 1.5 - 2.0 h in cerebral ischemic injury according to the principle of lowest therapeutic dose with longest time window.

Abstract: We develop a series of mathematical models to describe flow of information in different periods of time and the relationship between flow of information and inherent value. We optimize the diffusion mechanism of information based on model SEIR and improve the diffusion mechanism. In order to explore how inherent value of the information affects the flow of information, we simulate the model by using Matalab. We also use the data that the number of people is connected to Internet in Canada from the year 2009 to 2014 to analysis the model’s reliability. Then we use the model to predict the communication networks’ relationships and capacities around the year 2050. Last we do sensitivity analysis by making small changes in parameters of simulation experiment. The result of the experiment is helpful to model how public interest and opinion can be changed in complex network.
Care strategies for patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: The aim of this study is to analyse the clinical characteristics of 32 patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis, reinforce the practice of unique nursing and holistic nursing, improve the therapeutic effect, reduce the patients’ mortality, and increase their quality of life. Methods: We give patients individualized dietary guidance, medication nursing, and psychological care according to the characteristics of severe hepatitis and its complications, using com- prehensive medical treatment and combined signs of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Results: Overall, 22 (68.8%) out of 32 cases were improved, 8 (25.0%) cases died, and 2 (6.2%) cases were discharged of free will. In addition, the average hospital stay was 28.75 days. Conclusion: This study indicates that dietary guidance for the patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis varies with the individual. The result embodies the concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine that different treatment for the same disease and different diet for the same disease. Special nursing enriches the connotation of holistic nursing. Both of them are vital for improving the survival rate and promoting rehabilitation of patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis.
