Abstract: residual stresses in a welded joint of astm a131 grade ah32 steel was measured either by the x-ray diffraction or by displacements of referenced points measured on a coordinate measuring machine before and after heat treatment. for all tests, the welding was performed with shielded metal arc welding, vertical-up position, by a certified welder. after welding, some specimens were subjected to marking, made through small holes evenly spaced and mapped on a coordinate measuring machine. after labeling, the samples were subjected to heat treatment at temperatures nearby recrystallization. after heat treatment, the samples were subjected to new measurements by coordinate measuring machine to evaluate the displacements of the points produced by the recrystallization. in parallel, residual stress measurements were made by xrd for validation of this new methodology. the results obtained either by x-ray or by coordinate measuring machine showed a good correlation between the two measurement methodologies employed.

Health (Health) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/health.2018.1010104
Abstract: Objective: This study aimed to report the case of a female patient with chronic myeloid leukemia affected by cryptococcal meningitis. Case report: ML, white, 48 years old, female sex, previously diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia that has been refractive to the use of imatinib and who has recently begun using nilotinib, was admitted complaining of sudden and disabling migraine in the last 1 month associated with asthenia, adinamia, anorexia, disinterest for daily activities, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. She evolved with ataxia, and started to stroll with help and showed decrease of muscular strength in her upper limbs. She also presented episodes of decrease of consciousness, with look fixation, no respond to sound stimulation, and short-term hearing loss. The cerebrospinal fluid showed presence of Cryptococcus sp. and, therefore, we began treatment with intravenous liposomal amphotericin B in the dose of 3 mg/kg/day, for 6 weeks. A new cerebrospinal fluid analysis, at the end of treatment, also showed rare structures that are compatible with Cryptococcus sp. As sequelae, she continued with hearing loss in her right ear and enhancement in her right auditory canal, seen in the magnetic resonance imaging. After stabilization and clinical improvement, she was discharged. After 3 weeks, she was hospitalized again with degeneration of the condition, and died due to intracranial hypertension secondary to cryptococcal infection. Final Considerations: This report reinforces the need of reflecting on fungi pathologies, especially in immunosuppressant patients, as well as the importance of early diagnosing and making a fast intervention, with the aims of providing quality of life and comfort to the patient and of minimizing neurological sequelae to the patient.

SMAD Revista Electrónica Salud Mental, Alcohol y Drogas , 2005,

Abstract: This paper presents a research in the development of the 14-X hypersonic airspace vehicle at Institute for Advanced Studies (IEAv) from Department of Science and Aerospace Technology (DCTA) of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). The 14-X project objective is to develop a higher efficient satellite launch alternative, using a Supersonic Combustion Ramjet (SCRAMJET) engine and waverider aerodynamics. For this development, the waverider technology is under investigation in Prof. Henry T. Nagamatsu Aerothermodynamics and Hypersonics Laboratory (LHTN), in IEAv/DCTA. The investigation has been conducted through ground test campaigns in Hypersonic Shock Tunnel T3. The 14-X Waverider Vehicle characteristic was verified in shock tunnel T3 where surface static pressures and pitot pressure for Mach number 10 were measured and, using Schlieren photographs Diagnostic Method, it was possible to identify a leading-edge attached shock wave in 14-X lower surface.

Abstract: climate can be understood as the mean atmospheric condition for a certain region. it affects directly most of the human activities, in special agriculture since it defines final yield levels, conditioned mainly by the regional water availability. however, the climatic classifications systems (scc) are not often used for agricultural studies because usually their scales are considered very wide. therefore monthly mean values of maximum and minimum air temperature of 27 termometric stations and 427 pluviometric stations of state of s?o paulo were utilized to update and improve the mapping of two scc, k?ppen modified and thornthwaite, besides to evaluate their applicability for agroclimatic zonning for the state of s?o paulo. the use of 427 localities resulted in amore accurate mapping of the state by both climatic classifications. their applicability on agroclimatical studies was evaluated through the separation capacity of the climate types by two systems, in relation to the meteorological elements and components of normal water balance. it was used data dispersion analysis, tukey′s test and cluster analysis with independent data. the k?ppen scc showed to be efficient only for macroscale and low capacity of climate types separation in relation to meteorological elements (air temperature, rain) and data resulting from water balance (evapotranspiration, deficit and surplus). as a result this scc should not be used in agrometeorological studies. on the other hand, thornthwaite scc efficiently separates the climate types in toposcale or mesoscale in view of the fact that it can efficiently resume generated informations by normal water balance, indicating ability to determine agroclimatical zones. discussions were also made about sowing dates and final quality of agricultural products related to the two scc considered question.
