The intention of this article is to reconstruct the debate between Hans-Georg Gadamer and Jürgen Habermas which occurred between the end of the 1960s and the start of the 1970s. In order to observe this period the later developments of these thinkers won’t be taken into account. The article plans to examine the central problematic of the debate related to the difficult relationship between historic tradition and critical reflection. The tension between these two terms will be used as a reference for discussing the relationships between hermeneutics and critical theory.

Indeed, tests performed with the software that was developed demonstrated its ease of use, which was an important premise.
Métodos de obten??o, reatividade e importancia biológica de 4-tiazolidinonas
Liesen, André P.;Aquino, Thiago M. de;Góes, Alexandre J. S.;Lima, José G. de;Faria, Ant?nio R. de;Alves, Antonio J.;
Química Nova , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40422008000200033
Abstract: molecules containing the 4-thiazolidinone ring are known to possess a wide range of biological properties including antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities among others. these compounds can be synthesized by cyclization reactions involving a-haloacetic acid or a-mercaptoacetic acid and employed in several chemoselective reactions. comprehensive reviews have been written on 4-thiazolidinones in 1961 by brown and in 1980 by singh et al. in the recent literature, some new synthesis methods for 4-thiazolidinone derivatives and several reactions have been reported. these advances warrant to review the chemical and biological properties of compounds with this important heterocycle employed in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
Capacity of ensilage of Jatropha curcas L. cake to degrade forbol esters
Oliveira, André Soares de;Schwambach, Thiago Ivan;Sinhorin, Adilson Paulo;Oliveira, Márcia Rodrigues Carvalho;Alessi, Karine Claudia;Oliveira Filho, Francisco Ant?nio de;Pina, Douglas dos Santos;
Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-35982012000600032
Abstract: the objective of this study was to evaluate the capacity of the ensilage of jatropha curcas l. expeller cake to reduce the phorbol esters and its effect on fermentative losses, by adding soluble carbohydrates or microbial inoculants. the design was completely randomized with four replications in a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement, with three sources of soluble carbohydrates (sc, control, 50 g sucrose/kg or 50 g crude glycerin/kg as fed) and two doses of microbial inoculants (mi, 0 or 5 × 105 ufc lactobacillus plantarum + 3.33 × 105 ufc propionibacterium per g as fed). twenty-four mini-silos (982 cm3) of polyvinyl chloride were created and opened after 60 days of fermentation at room temperature. the pre-hydrated jatropha curcas l. cake (282 g of water/kg) contained 0.424 mg of phorbol esters/g of dry matter. ensiling reduced the phorbol esters in 47.4%, on average, regardless of the sc or mi. there was no interaction effect between sc and mi on effluent, gases or total dry matter losses. however, both losses were increased when sc were added, and it was higher with glycerin that than sucrose. the addition of mi reduced all fermentation losses. the process of ensiling, although partially to reduce the phorbol esters of pre-hydrated jatropha curcas l. cake, is not indicated as a biodestoxification procedure.
Evaluation of herbicidal potential of depsides from Cladosporium uredinicola, an endophytic fungus found in Guava fruit
Medeiros, Lívia S. de;Sampaio, Olívia M.;Silva, Maria Fátima das G. F. da;Rodrigues Filho, Edson;Veiga, Thiago André M.;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532012005000018
Abstract: two natural products produced by cladosporium uredinicola, an endophytic fungus isolated from guava fruit, were evaluated for their effects on photosynthesis. both of them inhibited electron flow (basal, phosphorylating, and uncoupled) from water to methylviologen (mv), acting as hill reaction inhibitors in freshly lysed spinach thylakoids. these polyketides, belonging to depsides class, inhibited partial reactions of photosystem ii (ps ii) electron flow from water to 2,5-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (dcbq), from water to sodium silicomolybdate (simo na+), and partially inhibited electron flow from 1,5-diphenylcarbazide (dpc) to 2,6-dichloroindophenol (dcpip). these results established that the depsides sites of inhibition are located on the donor and acceptor sides of ps ii, between p680 and qa. chlorophyll a fluorescence measurements corroborated this mechanism of action. none of the tested compounds inhibited photosystem i (ps i) electron transport.
A Equa??o-Mestra: atingindo o equilíbrio
Correra, Thiago Carita;Frank, André de Carvalho;
Química Nova , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40422011000200032
Abstract: in the last years, a great interest in nonequilibrium systems has been witnessed. although the master equations are one of the most common methods used to describe these systems, the literature about these equations is not straightforward due to the mathematical framework used in their derivations. the goals of this work are to present the physical concepts behind the master equations development and to discuss their basic proprieties via a matrix approach. it is also shown how the master equations can be used to model typical nonequilibrium processes like multi-wells chemical reactions and radiation absorption processes.
Reproduction of a South American population of pumpkinseed sunfish Lepomis gibbosus (Linnaeus) (Osteichthyes, Centrarchidae): a comparison with the European and North American populations
Magalh?es, André L. B. de;Ratton, Thiago F.;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752005000200025
Abstract: the reproductive biology of the introduced pumpkinseed sunfish lepomis gibbosus (linnaeus, 1758) in the custódio's dam, rio doce high basin, state of minas gerais, brazil was studied from february/2001 to march/2002 and compared with introduced and native populations. reproduction occurred almost along the entire period of study with a high frequency of fishes in the advanced ripening/mature and spawned/spent stages. the microscopic analyses indicated that the pumpkinseed sunfish presents multiple spawning. the egg diameter of the brazilian population is similar to the spanish, greek and american ones. the standard length at maturity and the gonadosomatic index of the introduced populations are smaller when compared with native ones. the spawning season of the brazilian population was the longest among all comparisons made in the present work.
Fish community structure of Juramento reservoir, S?o Francisco River basin, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Silva, André R. M.;Santos, Gilmar B.;Ratton, Thiago;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752006000300031
Abstract: many rivers in brazil as the s?o francisco (sfr) have been impounded for reservoirs construction purposes. however, there is a lack of knowledge on their fish fauna in many areas, including headwaters. the present study aimed to describe the fish community structure from juramento reservoir, located on juramento river, a branch of sfr basin. six bimonthly samplings were made in four different sites. gill and cast nets, beach seines and sieves were used to collect fish. ecological indexes as well as the relationship between fish abundance and some limnological variables were determined. 3288 fish belonging to 33 species (16.5% of the total described for sfr basin) were captured, being 75.7% characiformes, 18.1% siluriformes, 3% cyprinodontiformes and 3% gymnotiformes. only two non-native species, 'tamboatá' - hoplosternum littorale (hancock, 1828) and 'trair?o' - hoplias lacerdae ribeiro, 1908 were found. the highest catches in number occurred in the dry period (march-october) and the lowest one in the wet season (november-february). diversity was higher at barragem station and richness did not vary between reservoir zones. five migratory species were found downstream of the dam (four exclusively there), whereas only the 'curimbatá-pioa' - prochilodus costatus valenciennes, 1850 occurred in the reservoir. the low observed correlations between fish abundance and the limnological variables utilized suggest that the local fish fauna is not strongly affected by their variation.
