Education, as one of the basis of personal and professional development, increasingly becomes the object of study in contemporary times. This is even more necessary when referring to a discipline such as sociology, still in its infancy in the school context. Then, it is important to understand the teaching practices that teachers use while conducting their jobs, as well as their working conditions as they perform their activities. Taking into consideration that the teacher is a plural and heterogeneous person, we think that other teachers, with other academic backgrounds, can teach the subject, because teacher training is not the only element that is able to guide everyday practices in the classroom, although not discarded in order to teach. This is because the habitus is built by the teaching practice experiences, the provisions acquired throughout professional career. The teachers’ knowhow, therefore, acquires a central role to think about the consolidation of a discipline that for years did not belong to the high school curriculum. Our objective therefore is to elucidate a debate on the construction of teaching habitus, and the importance of initial formation in Sociology teaching.
Brincadeira no espa?o da rua e a demarca??o dos gêneros na infancia

Abstract: this article highlights the street as an area of infantile sociability: a singular universe to boys and girls. here we indicate the games that are presented in their specific spaces to kids. it looks for interpreting the meanings, the behaviour and values symbolized by the fun and games through the analysis of the universes of small men and small women, formed in childhood. the games considered proper for boys are presented, where the masculinity is aspired and negotiated and the games seen as specific to girls, that represent much of daily life and family and neighborhood relations .we included in our reflection the analysis of games in mixed groups of boys and girls, which symbolizes a conflict sociability, a sociability marked by the avoidance among those ones who occupy the same space. besides punctuating the segregation among these groups, it discusses here the representations and meanings attributed to the games. as well as the space of the street becomes relevant to the interaction among the small ones, we highlight the relevance of the popular universe that occurs intensely in these representations in childhood, since our eyes are turned, over all, to popular groups. values as family, neighborhood and group are evoked by the small ones and reflected in the relations established in their interactions.

Abstract: uncoupling proteins constitute a subgroup of mitochondrial carrier proteins that are located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. by dissipating proton gradients, they act to uncouple respiration from oxidative phosphorylation and convert fuel to heat. four homologous ucp isoforms have been identified. ucp-1, the first ucp to be described, is found exclusively in brown adipose tissue, ucp-2 in several tissues, ucp-3 in human skeletal muscle and rat brown adipose tissue and skeletal muscle, whereas ucp-4 is expressed in the brain. expression of ucp-3 in the skeletal muscle and the brown adipose tissue may place these tissues as important mediators for adaptative thermogenesis. however, the role of ucp-3 in energy expenditure and as a cause of obesity has been controversial. there are evidences that ucp-3 can be regulated by energy substrates as fatty acids and glucose, by entering the muscle and stimulating ucp-3 to increase energy expenditure. our aim in this review was to describe and discuss the available information on ucp-3 regulation and its possible relation with body weight control.

Abstract: Fish diet studies contribute to understanding resource partitioning and community trophic structure. The present paper characterizes the diet of gpeixe-cachorro h species Acestrorhynchus britskii and A. lacustris in Sobradinho reservoir, Bahia State, Brazil. Bimonthly samples (November 2006 to July 2008) were taken in the lotic, transition and lentic stretches of the reservoir, using gillnets overnight. A total of 899 A. britskii and 476 A. lacustris stomachs were analyzed, 70% of which were empty. Their content indicated the species are predominantly piscivorous, with 18 prey fish species identified. However, each prey occurred in a single month, except for Anchoviella vaillanti, recorded in 80% of months for A. bristski, andTetragonopterus chalceus in 25% for A. lacustris. The species presented high food overlap (C é = 0.992), owing to the occurrence of Actinopterygii (bits) and Actinopterygii in all months. Regarding prey fish alone, a differentiated intake and lower food overlap was detected, in the flood (C é = 0.427) and drought (C é = 0.172) seasons, in the lotic (C é = 0.434), transition (C é = 0.089) and lentic (C é = 0) stretches, and in overall overlap (C é = 0.236). The spatial and seasonal differences in the intake of different prey fish by both species suggest an opportunistic feeding habit and a competition reduction mechanism for food resources.

Abstract: Naphthoquinones isolated from the wood of trees of the families Bignoniaceae and Verbenaceae have been subjected to an interdisciplinary study since the seventies, when Dr. Benjamin Gilbert, at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, launched a program on the chemistry of natural products active against endemic diseases. In this paper we describe the synthesis of five naphthoimidazoles, derived from this program and their activity towards T. cruzi, the etiologic agent of Chagas disease. We also review the influence of chemical structure on trypanocidal action of naphthoquinones and of derived heterocycles with imidazole, oxazole, phenoxazine, indole, dipyrane and cyclopentene rings. The overall analysis corroborates the tendency of trypanocidal activity in compounds with an imidazole or oxazole ring linked to a naphthopyrane structure. Two naphthoimidazoles presented higher activities (14.5x and 34.8x) than the standard crystal violet. Emphasis is given to the biodiversity of the Brazilian flora as a starting point for the development of an autonomous and creative medicinal chemistry.

Abstract: Atherosclerosis is a coronary disease where deposition of lipids in the arteries leads to problems of blood circulation. The present work evaluates the action of the flavonoids morin, quercetin and nicotinic acid isolated in association on lipid metabolism in hyperlipidemic rats. Blood serum levels cholesterol, cholesterol-HDL, and triacylglycerids have been analysed following the intraperitoneal administration of the flavonoid compounds dissolved in propyleneglycol by in doses of 5mg/kg body weight. Quercetin presented the largest percentual reduction of cholesterol. The best results for cholesterol-HDL have been obtained with-nicotinic acid alone while morin-nicotinic acid combination showed the best triacylglycerols results. Results showed that flavonoids could be beneficious in the treatment of coronary diseases.

Abstract: taeniasis occurs due to the presence of the adult form of taenia sp. in human beings, and cysticercosis is caused by the presence of the larval stage of t. solium in pigs and humans. a transversal study was conducted aiming to determine the prevalence of porcine cysticercosis and taeniasis in 176 farms located in rural areas of vi?osa-mg. blood samples of 226 pigs, and feces samples of 266 humans were collected. an epidemiological survey has also been done. we found a prevalence of 0.4% of porcine cysticercosis and taeniasis has not been found. the epidemiological data has shown that although most people consumed non-inspected pork, it used to be prepared well-done. data showed that 88.1% of the pigs are reared in confinement in only 1.1% of the properties the sewer was disposed on the soil, and 99.4% used pipes for water distribution. it can be concluded that the prevalence of the taeniasis-cysticercosis complex in rural areas of vi?osa (state of minas gerais) is lower than in other similar regions.

Abstract: a new procedure was used to prepare a microcrystalline powder constituted by thin euhedral hexagonal gibbsite plates, 0.2 to 0.6 μm in diameter and 32 nm thick. the powder, fired between 200 and 1000 °c, produced chi and kappa transition aluminas. alpha-alumina is formed from 1000 °c and recrystallized up to 1500 °c. at 1000 °c, kappa- and alpha-alumina coexisted, but kappa-alumina could only be characterized by saed. the details of the internal organization of the transition alumina pseudomorphs were clearly observable in tem due to the great thinness of the i-gibbsite plates. the specific surface area varied from pristine i-gibbsite (24.9 m2.g-1) to chi- and kappa transition aluminas (25.4 m2.g-1) at 1000 °c to alpha-alumina (4.0 m2.g-1) at 1500 °c. the maximum value of specific surface area is 347 m2.g-1 in chi-alumina powder at 300 °c, a difference from bayer gibbsite, in which the chi-alumina highest surface area is 370 m2.g-1 at 400 °c.
