Abstract: the study of complex processes of learning find in the motivational phenomenon a fundamental element. what we are looking for in this essay resides in the understanding of the close link between the affective, cognitive and social aspects of motivation, within the organizational learning process. the delimitation of the object - motivation in organizational learning - emerges, initially, of the construction of each category: a) affective category, originates from the convergence between freudian psychoanalytical theory and psychodynamic learning approach; b) cognitive category, originating from piagetian thinking; and c) social category, influenced by social and socio-cognitive theories of learning. because of referential theories have been developed historically under different paradigms, we undertake a rapprochement between critical paradigms, which cross the psychoanalytic approach, and social constructionism which sustains of psychological approaches used. the joint analysis of the three categories and their factors involves two phases: the analysis of the factors of motivation in learning, described by authors working in the field of the individual, noting those that can be adapted to the organizational field, and inserted into the categories developed; proposition a summary table of categories and factors that can be used in subsequent studies on the subject. this paper aims at providing a new perspective on the theories of motivation and learning in organizations, since their relationship is an object of study that can not be reduced to a motivational type, nor to one type of scenario engagements, similar to the motivation at work, but is a concept inherent in the processes of organizational learning. it is attributed to the study’s relevance to the opening of a multiparadigmatic perspective to understand the phenomenon. it is attributed to the study’s relevance to the opening of a multiparadigmatic perspective to understand the phenomenon.

Abstract: O estudo dos processos complexos de aprendizagem encontra no fen meno motivacional um elemento fundamental. O que se busca neste ensaio é compreens o do entrela amento dos aspectos afetivos, cognitivos e sociais da motiva o no interior do processo de aprendizagem organizacional. A delimita o do objeto – motiva o na aprendizagem organizacional – emerge, inicialmente, da constru o de cada categoria: a) categoria afetiva, originária da confluência entre a teoria psicanalítica freudiana e abordagem psicodinamica da aprendizagem; b) categoria cognitiva, procedente do pensamento piagetiano; e c) categoria social, sob a influência das teorias da aprendizagem social e sociocognitiva. Em virtude de as teorias referenciais terem sido desenvolvidas historicamente sob paradigmas distintos, elabora-se uma aproxima o entre o paradigma criticalista, que transpassa a abordagem psicanalítica, e o construcionismo social, que sustenta as abordagens da psicologia utilizadas. A análise conjunta das três categorias e de seus fatores envolve dois momentos: a análise dos fatores da motiva o na aprendizagem, descritos por autores que atuam no campo do indivíduo, observando aqueles que podem ser adaptados para o campo organizacional, e inseridos nas categorias desenvolvidas; e proposi o de um quadro-síntese de categorias e fatores que possa ser utilizado em estudos subsequentes sobre o tema. Este artigo pretende contribuir para um novo olhar sobre as teorias da motiva o e da aprendizagem nas organiza es, uma vez que a sua rela o constitui um objeto de estudo que n o pode ser reduzido a um tipo motivacional, tampouco a um tipo de cenário de engajamentos, semelhante à motiva o no trabalho, mas consiste em um conceito inerente aos processos do aprender organizacional. Atribui-se a relevancia do estudo à abertura de uma perspectiva multiparadigmática de compreens o do fen meno.
Treatment response to LPV/r-based HAART in HIV-infected patients aged >60 years - data from the STAR/STELLA cohorts

Abstract: Purpose of the study: In Germany, older age is described as a risk factor for late presentation of HIV disease (defined as<200 CD4/μL or AIDS at diagnosis). We describe treatment outcomes with respect to age distribution at the time of antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation in the multicentre, observational, ongoing STAR and STELLA cohorts, which included patients (pts) initiated on LPV/r-based ART. Methods: This analysis included ART-na ve HIV+ pts with a minimum of 48 weeks follow-up. Time to virologic response (defined as HIV1-RNA <50 c/mL) and time to CD4 cell increase of at least 100/μL were calculated using Kaplan-Meier analyses. Virologic response rates at week 48 were evaluated using 2 approaches: i) defining discontinuations for virologic or immunologic failure, side effects, noncompliance, or death as failures (ITT) and ii) as-treated (AT) analysis excluding discontinuations for reasons other than virologic failure. Summary of results: 1011 ART-na ve pts were included (85% men; median age 43 years [y]). Baseline (BL) characteristics and treatment response rates are shown in Table 1. The overall prevalence of advanced immunodeficiency with<200 CD4/μL at ART initiation was 48%:*Comparison across groups 64% in pts aged >60 y and 31%–49% in the younger age groups (see Table 1). Across age groups, 43%–60% of pts had pretreatment HIV1-RNA levels>100,000 c/mL. Median times to virologic response (Figure 1) and response rates at week 48 did not differ across age groups in either analysis, nor did immunologic outcomes. Median times to+100/μL CD4 increase were between 11.1 and 15.3 weeks. CD4 increase at week 48 was lower in pts >60 y compared to patients of younger age categories (165/μL vs 211/μL; P=ns). However, these differences between age groups did not reach statistical significance, even when stratified by baseline CD4 count60 y group (P=0.194). In addition, 11.3 % of pts =60 and 14.9% of pts >60 y discontinued therapy prior to week 48 due to treatment related AEs (P=0.427). Conclusions: In the STAR/STELLA cohorts, pts aged >60 y had high rates of late presentation, with two-thirds of patients with CD4 cell counts<200/μL. Nevertheless, older pts did not differ significantly from younger pts regarding immunologic and virologic response after initiation of LPV/r-based therapy.

Abstract: Perspectives of Undergraduate Students at Balikesir University on Names and Naming Today Bases of Research: As mirror of cultures, names, reflection of cultural and individual identity of human beings, are important issues which show tendency to change in society. Thus, it is important perspectives of new generations on names and naming. Purpose of the Research: The goal of this study is to evaluate the names of the students at the Faculty of Necatibey Education, Balikesir University as well as to examine their opinions on names and naming today. Resources of Data: This study relies on the survey consisting of 13 questions is conducted to 918 students at the Faculty of Necatibey Education and some studies on names and naming.Main Discussion: Since names and naming are among the important dynamics of a culture, the names of new generation and their opinions on naming give important information about names and naming for today and future. Conclusions: Names of new generation and their opinions on naming play a significant role for defining names in future.

Abstract: Como os portais de notícia G1, Portal Terra e UOL notícias usam o Twitter na publica o de notícias? Este é o ponto de partida desta pesquisa empírica envolvendo Twitter e jornalismo. Com a populariza o do microblog Twitter no Brasil, procura-se compreender a maneira como os grandes portais de notícia brasileiros est o buscando a aten o do público na Internet, suas estratégias e formas de publica o de conteúdo jornalístico on-line. Para esta pesquisa foi criado um perfil no Twitter e adicionado aos seguidos os três maiores portais de notícia do Brasil: Portal Terra, UOL notícias e G1, em seguida foram coletadas 24 horas de publica es seguidas de notícias no Twitter e analisadas com o método de pesquisa Análise de Conteúdo. Para a análise foram formuladas três perguntas: Como os portais utilizam o Twitter na publica o de notícias? Qual a frequência de participa o dos portais no Twitter? Quais assuntos os portais publicam no Twitter? How the G1 news portal, news portal Terra and UOL use Twitter in the publication of news? This is the starting point of this empirical research involving Twitter and journalism. With the popularization of the microblog Twitter in Brazil, seeks to understand how the major Brazilians news portals are seeking the public’s attention on the Internet, its strategies and ways of publishing news content online. For this research it was created a profile on Twitter and followed added to the three major news portals in Brazil: Portal Terra, UOL news and G1, were then collected 24 hours of publications followed the news on Twitter and analyzed with the research method Content Analysis. For the analysis were formulated three questions: How do portals are using Twitter in the publication of news? What is the frequency of participation of the portals on Twitter? What matters the portals publish on Twitter?

Edge-Detected Guided Morphological Filter for Image Sharpening

Abstract: A new edge-guided morphological filter is proposed to sharpen digital images. This is done by detecting the positions of the edges and then applying a class of morphological filtering. Motivated by the success of threshold decomposition, gradient-based operators are used to detect the locations of the edges. A morphological filter is used to sharpen these detected edges. Experimental results demonstrate that the performance of these detected edge deblurring filters is superior to that of other sharpener-type filters.

Abstract: Long-standing discrepancies within determinations of the Ginzburg-Landau parameter $\kappa$ from supercritical field measurements on superconducting microspheres are reexamined. The discrepancy in tin is shown to result from differing methods of analyses, whereas the discrepancy in indium is a consequence of significantly differing experimental results. The reanalyses however confirms the lower $\kappa$ determinations to within experimental uncertainties.
Doppler Rayleigh/Mie/Raman lidar for wind and temperature measurements in the middle atmosphere up to 80 km

Abstract: A direct detection Doppler lidar for measuring wind speed in the middle atmosphere up to 80 km with 2 h resolution was implemented in the ALOMAR Rayleigh/Mie/Raman lidar (69° N, 16° E). The random error of the line of sight wind is about 0.6 m/s and 10 m/s at 49 km and 80 km, respectively. We use a Doppler Rayleigh Iodine Spectrometer (DoRIS) at the iodine line 1109 (~532.260 nm). DoRIS uses two branches of intensity cascaded channels to cover the dynamic range from 10 to 100 km altitude. The wind detection system was designed to extend the existing multi-wavelength observations of aerosol and temperature performed at wavelengths of 355 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm. The lidar uses two lasers with a mean power of 14 W at 532 nm each and two 1.8 m diameter tiltable telescopes. Below about 49 km altitude the accuracy and time resolution is limited by the maximum count rate of the detectors used and not by the number of photons available. We report about the first simultaneous Rayleigh temperature and wind measurements by lidar in the strato- and mesosphere on 17 and 23 January 2009.
