INFORMáTICA NA SALA DE AULA: REALIDADE OU UTOPIA?

Abstract: The present study aims to investigate and to analyze how the insertion of computers in schoolis done, and how teachers conceive the use of this technology. As theoretical references, this work searches astheoretical basis Pierre Lévy and Serge Moscovici′s studies. Qualitative research guides this inquiry realizedin three schools of the interior of the state of S o Paulo. As procedures of data collection, half-structuralizedquestionnaires and class comments were used, typing to identify possible factors that may interfere in the useof computer science in classroom, as well as the conceptions of the own teachers about this subject. Relatingobserved conceptions, reflections and pedagogical practices, it was possible to establish the follow categories:1) Use of computer as instrument of practical support to pedagogical one; 2) Use of computer as minimizer ofstudents′ digital exclusion; 3) Teachers versus technological ability and, 4) Computers as pertaining to schooladornments. These different conceptions contribute to the discussion about the determinant factors in the processesof teaching and learning and in the digital inclusion: effective pedagogical intervention, the role of school as ateaching institution and the effective participation of school community and of the own teachers. This investigationintends to contribute, bringing information and questionings that take the teacher to reflect on its praxis and on itsimportance as responsible for the use of computer as a partner in its pedagogical work.presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar e analisar como está se efetivando a inser o doscomputadores nas escolas e como os docentes concebem o uso desta tecnologia. Como referenciais teóricos,esta pesquisa busca fundamentos nos estudos de Pierre Lévy e Serge Moscovici. A pesquisa qualitativa norteiaesta investiga o realizada em três escolas do interior do estado de S o Paulo. Como procedimentos de coleta dedados, foram utilizados questionários semi-estruturados e observa es de aulas, visando a identificar os possíveisfatores que podem interferir na utiliza o da informática em sala de aula, bem como as concep es das própriasdocentes sobre o tema. Abstract: El control del cáncer cervicouterino representa un importante reto para la salud pública en Brasil, marcada por la falta de una política nacional que permita la articulación de las diferentes etapas de un programa (reclatamiento/búsqueda de mujeres susceptibles, colección, citopatología, control de calidad y tratamiento de los casos positivos) de una manera equitativa en todo el país, así como una evaluación de los resultados. Es necesaria una estrategia de gobierno más eficaz que pueda intervenir significativamente en la vida de las mujeres que permanecen en el grupo de riesgo de desarrollar cáncer del cuello uterino, en especial aquellas con edad arriba de 40 a os.
Brincadeiras e brinquedos na atualidade: breve contribui o articulando a infancia e a escola / Juegos y juguetes: uma breve intervención que une la infancia y la escuela

Abstract: Este breve estudo analisa as brincadeiras e brinquedos na atualidade articulando a infancia e a escola. Para a realiza o do mesmo, utilizou-se de pesquisa bibliográfica, desenvolvida através de três pontos: primeiramente, apresenta-se se forma sucinta elementos referente à história da infancia, do brinquedo e da escola. Na sequência, trata-se das características dos brinquedos e infancia da atualidade, e ao final, articula-se a rela o da institui o escolar com a nova infancia e os brinquedos. O estudo mostrou que as mudan as sociais que ocorreram na história influenciaram na forma o da infancia contemporanea e na rela o desta com os brinquedos e brincadeiras, cabendo à escola a tarefa de articular passado e presente, assim como produzir reflex es acerca das produ es da atualidade. Resumen Este breve estudio examina los juegos y juguetes que une actualmente la infancia y laescuela. Se utilizó la investigación bibliográfica llevada a cabo por tres puntos: primero se analizan las puntuaciones de información en la historia de la infancia, los juguetes y la escuela. Después, estas son las características de los juguetes infantiles y hoy, después dearticular la relacción de la escuela con los ni os y los juguetes nuevos. El estudio demostró que los cambios sociales que ocurrieron en la historia influyeron en la formación de la infancia contemporánea y la relación de este con los juguetes y juegos, dejando la tarea de articular la escuela pasado y presente, así como producir reflexiones sobre las producciones de hoy en día.

Abstract: objectives: to evaluate self-care progress of individuals with paraplegia who attended an educational program regarding 16 intestinal elimination self-care deficits, and to determine the influence of the neurological level of the injury and locus of control on the progress of the self-care. methods: a quasi-experimental design was used to conduct the study. the sample consisted of 28 individuals with paraplegia who were assign to usual care group (n = 14) or to the educational program in intestinal elimination self-care deficits group (n-14). nursing interventions were scored "do = 4", "guide = 3", "support = 2", "teach = 1", "independent = 0". results: individuals with paraplegia who attended the educational program had better progress toward self-care than those to the usual care group (p < 0.05). the neurological level of the injury and the locus of control did not influence individuals' progress toward self-care. conclusion: the individuals who attended the educational program progressed satisfactorily toward intestinal elimination self-care actions.
Realidade virtual no tratamento do transtorno de panico

Abstract: virtual reality (vr) is a valuable tool in exposure treatment of panic disorder (pd). in virtual environments the patients experience similar physiological, psychic and somatic changes as in real life situations facilitating the habituation process. objective: we intend to divulge the current panorama of vr in treatment of pd. method: the literature on vr treatment for pd was revised with a systematic methodology in the pubmed database, using the keywords: virtual reality and panic disorder. results: virtual exposure treatment of pd usually shows good results and a great patient acceptability. only a few studies measure physiological responses during the exposure despite the importance of these data for evaluation of the treatment effectiveness. conclusions: although the vr treatment for pd usefulness is clear in the trials, a lack of controlled studies and standardized treatment protocols are verified.
Neoplasias espontaneas em ratos Wistar de um centro de cria??o de animais de laboratório do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Abstract: the purpose of the present study was to check the prevalence and the pathologic features of spontaneous neoplasms found in wistar rat, from the production colonies at the center for laboratory animal breeding, fiocruz, rio de janeiro. one thousand nine hundred and sixty four wistar rats were submitted to necropsy in the period between august 2002 and january 2007, after euthanasia in co2 chamber. tissue samples were collected, fixed in 10% buffered formalin and processed by the usual techniques for inclusion in paraffin. thirty eight neoplasms were diagnoses and 36 rats had tumors, representing a prevalence of 1.8%. among the 36 animals, only six (16.7%) were male and one (2.8%) young. the neoplasms were diagnosed with the following occurrences: mammary carcinoma (42.1%), mammary fibroadenoma (13.2%), hemangiosarcoma (7.9%), adenoma of the pituitary gland (7.9%), mammary adenoma (5.3%), fibrosarcoma (5.3%), primary papillary pulmonary adenocarcinoma (2.6%), sebaceous epithelioma (2.6%), ganglioneuroblastoma in the adrenal gland (2.6%), leiomyoma of the uterus (2.6%), mesothelioma (2.6%), osteosarcoma osteoblastic (2.6%), papilloma (2.6%). in this study the prevalence of spontaneous neoplasms was lower than the ones found in similar studies and the malignant tumors predominated. the sebaceous epithelioma and also the mucinous and simple papillary-cystic mammary carcinomas with spontaneous occurrence were described in wistar rats for the first time.

Abstract: background: cognitive-behavioral therapy is the most studied psychotherapeutic modality in panic disorder (pd) and has demonstrated, in the most different experimental studies, to be sufficiently efficient when compared with control groups, psychopharmacological treatments and other forms of unstructured psychotherapies. literature on the cognitivebehavioral treatment of pd contemplates comparisons between the most used techniques. objectives: revise the literature that compares the effectiveness of the cognitive, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches of pd, detaching the referring limitations to these psychological treatments and the applied research methodologies. methods: literature systematic review, mainly revised in pubmed database. results: the effectiveness of the cognitive and behavioral interventions and its combination were equalized and hypotheses to this respect have been raised. discussion: we should attempt to improve important methodological aspects aiming at results even more trustworthy, pointing out directions to contribute to the refinement of the used techniques.
Efeito da época de plantio na produ o e na ocorrência de pragas em culturas do algodoeiro (Gossypium hirsutum) = Effect of planting date on the production and the occurrence of pests in the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum)

Abstract: O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o efeito da época de plantio na produ o e ocorrência de pragas em culturas do algodoeiro. Foi analisada a influência da época de plantio no rendimento e na ocorrência de pragas nos cultivares de algodoeiro CNPA 7H e DeltapineAcala 90, em Formosa do Rio Preto, S o Desidério e Luiz Eduardo Magalh es, no estado da Bahia, nos campos experimentais da Embrapa, instalados nas fazendas Independência, Mizote e Poletto, respectivamente. Quatro épocas foram avaliadas e os plantios foram feitos nos meses de novembro, dezembro e janeiro, safras 1998/1999 e 1999/2000, com intervalos de 15 dias entre cada plantio. Os dados foram submetidos à análise da variancia e as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade. Realizou-se levantamentos semanais de 5 insetos-praga e pulveriza es para manter a infesta o abaixo dos níveis de controle. Por meio dos resultados obtidos, pode-se inferir que: a) a época de plantio tem uma marcante influência na produ o do algodoeiro; b) a época de plantio do algodoeiro influencia a ocorrência de insetos-praga com reflexos em sua produtividade. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of planting date and the occurrence of pests on the cotton crop. The influence of the planting date on the output of the cotton CNPA 7H and Deltapine Acala 90, at Formosa do Rio Preto, S o Desidério and Luiz Eduardo Magalh es, in the experimental fields of the Embrapa, in the state of Bahia, was analyzed. Four planting dates were evaluated. The plantings were in November, December and January, 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 crops, with intervals of 15 days between each planting. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and the averages compared by Tukey’s test at 5% probability. According to the results, the following conclusions can be inferred: a) The planting date has a significant influence on the cotton production; b) The cotton planting date influences the occurrence of pests, leading, thus, to asignificant decrease in the production.
Identifica o dos requisitos universais de autocuidado e seus déficits no lesado medular

Abstract: Este estudio utilizó Orem como referencial teórico y tuvo por objetivo identificar los déficits de autocuidado universal en el lesado medular y verificar si existe condición de autocuidado cuyos déficits sean preponderantes. La muestra se constituyó de 32 pacientes en los cuales se aplicó un formulario de pesquisa para identificación de los déficits relativos a los requisitos universales de autocuidado. Fueron identificados déficits en todos los requisitos de autocuidado universal, a saber: manutención de la respiración, ingestión suficiente de alimentos y líquidos, eliminaciones vesical e intestinal, equilibrio en medio a periodos de aislamiento e interacción social, prevención de riesgos a la vida humana, promoción a la normalidad. No hubo necesidad de autocuidado universal que sobresaliera de las otras, pero los déficits en la necesidad de manutención de ingestión suficiente de alimentos y líquidos se presentó con frecuencia un poco menor.
Simulator Sickness Questionnaire: tradu??o e adapta??o transcultural

Abstract: background: the study of cybersickness, uncomfortable symptoms related to interaction in vir-tual environments, is important for these environments’ improvement that help to preserve the welfare of users and reduce the abandonment of virtual exposures. using an appropriate instrument to identify and measure the symptoms of cybersickness in a standardized way can contribute to this purpose. objective: the objective of the current study is to present the stages of translation and adaptation into portuguese of the instrument "simulator sickness questionnaire", which measures cybersickness’ symptoms. methods: three translations and back translations were conducted by independent evaluators, the semantic equivalence and versions’ evaluation were made, producing a synthesized version. comments from participants on the preliminary version of the questionnaire were examined. results: the preliminary brazilian version of the questionnaire was developed. it was found that most participants understood the symptoms’ descriptions given in the translated questionnaire. conclusion: the use of three different versions of translation and back translation, the discussion of the synthetic version and the interaction with the target population have provided viability for the process of semantic equivalence of the brazilian final version.
